In the past 2 weeks I've been hearing over than 15 top classical guitarrists playing this Primavera (and others, Otono & Invierno) and none else plays Piazzolla like Stephanie, indeed! Piazzolla requires energy, passion, some violence and a honey swetness, sometimes all together along a single phrasing, free rithym, free dynamics and so on.... Missing to hear Verano Porteno with her!!! I'm absolutely sure that Sérgio Assad is very proud, rapt and joyful on hearing (and seeing) Stephanie playing his arrangements for guitar of these 4 Piazzolla's master pieces. She hit on the nail! In fact, on the strings! :)👏👏👏👏
Get her new album with the Verano on it. link is in the description. Wonderful record!
nowadays virtuoses play often Piazzolla on guitar , we are talking the best ones Gorbach , Thu Le , Kuyhee Park , Xuefei Yang...well ...noone gets close Stephanie !
I can hardly imagine the enormous amount of work required to achieve this degree of virtuosity. Bravo!
She is not Jesus !!!
@@philoumars3168 What are you talking about? I don't see the parallel between finding someone's work remarkable and the blissful admiration of the religious...
@@philoumars3168 uhh that's a weird thing to say lol.
@@philoumars3168 I just spoke with God, turns out she really is Jesus
@@philoumars3168
She is much better than Jesus. She only celebrates joy and beauty, rather than suffering.
this is incredible but seriously how incredible is Sergio Assad's arranging skills!!!!!
Thank's for the information. I didn't know this arrangement. Fantastic!
Actually is "brava"
@M T no this piece was arranged by sergio assad himself
He is wonderful as player and composer too. A real genius.
The amount of difficulty on this piece is crazy and you played it flawlessly. It appears your playing it with easy. And the emotion you put into the music makes it even better. Thank you for your talent Stephanie. 🤘😎🤘❣
A jaw-droppingly good guitarist, if that is a word
Yes! If it isn't a word, let's decide it is a word now.
Man she makes it look so easy... the melody alone is so complex. Her touch dynamics are on point. This is why I love classical more than electric, its more of an expression of oneself.
Definitely. People tend to overpraise guitarists like Clapton and Hendrix, to name a few of them, but classically-trained guitarists will always sound more... Emotionally musical-or musically emotional. It's hard to describe, you just have to feel it. And what is art in general without feeling?
@@sangresolida
Agree. Today, after decades of playing electric guitar, I'm returning to classical (thanks to UA-cam, by the way!). To me, it's like going back to the roots! As if classical guitar was the only REAL guitar.
If this looks easy, then I'm a unicorn xD Jesus it's hard to even imagine what a huge ton of practice went into this performance
Edit: might be easy for her though
Incredible strength, fluidity, precision, and passion. She's got it all !!
Among all the young classical guitarists on UA-cam, she's my favorite. Perfect technique, great feeling, rhythmical flexibility... and how beautiful she sounds!
the balance between virtuosity, technique and multiple emotional qualities are unparalleled. I am in total awe.
Having already declared Stephanie a cultural treasure for another performance, I can only say thanks for this mindbendingly exquisite piece.
This playing is full of more than technical things, its pure music...feelings...wonderful playing...one of my favorite guitarists, indeed.
fingers, brain, heart: you use them all in the best way
As I said about Invierno Porteno and Otono Porteno, this Primavera Portena is awesome too. Something to cherish. Sometimes young people express it better than old people.
Above all, very clean interpretation, without any outside sounds. And the musical and stylistic taste is supreme! *B R A V O!*

Brava
Spacetime
There is simply no stopping this woman! IMO, on of the very top performers in the world today. And btw, what a wonderfully sonorous instrument. Glückwunsch an Sie Herr Schmidt!
Wer ist Herr Schmidt? :)
Absolutely fabulous rendition by one of the most outstanding young guitarists of our time IMHO . Excellent audio and video recording too.
GET THIS CD, GET THIS CD!!! When I signed up for your kickstarter I was not expecting such a gem! Felicidade is obviously my favorite but Agua E Vinho left me in pieces and in tears. Thank you Stephanie.
I love "primavera porteña". I mean, for real. Living here in the city in september-october-november (spring time here) is just beautiful. Too sad covid forces me to stay inside a damned apartment, but still....
No surprises on why Piazzolla got inspired
The renditions of this fantastic piece by Ms Jones get better and better.
Yes! I was waiting for the Spring-time section, and it's now my favorite.
Stephanie really seems to connect with the Piazzolla material, and I'm psyched that she's able to up her game so consistently.
She not only commands the guitar, she seems to enjoy it more with each performance. Breath-taking.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Extraordinary how Stephanie gets such a rich sound, and articulation in the left and right hands with such economy of movement.
I’ve waited until now to say this player is astounding, among the absolutely best. Also her position cross legged is so relaxed and natural.
As Olympic athletes make their sports look "easy," so Stephanie makes displaying such virtuosity look "effortless."
This is the best version of this song on the entire internet. Made me look for the score and compromise myself to study this piece for the next 2 years 😂 Congratulations!
Astor Piazzolla lives! Such sensitivity and artistry! So glad to learn about your music, Ms. Jones.
I love the sound you get from your Paul Sheridan guitar, your virtuosic execution and unique interpretation of each piece. But above all I love the self-evident way you express such joyful delight like you're really enjoying what your playing with such freedom and wonderful individuality!!!!!
Stephanie Jones' dymamik, precision..., is "simply:" outstanding.
Remarkable.........simply.........absolutely remarkable. Old dudes out there??? (myself @68 included) - our beloved classical guitar is in good hands
Very dynamic, lots of expression here.
Her interpretation of Piazzolla is the best, energetic, rhythmic, melodic sensuality, second to none!
One of the things I appreciate most about musicians in a classical school is the ability to maintain rhythm. Nothing hurts music more than loose rhythm and absence of clarity in sound and phrasing.
Finalmente la chitarra classica si amplia di tanti nuovi brani, di talentuose e imprevedibili esibizioni. Passione, coraggio, bravura e talento. Apprezzo molto. Bravissima
I've never seen anybody that is not from Argentina play Piazzolla like that
This is a comment i read from a year ago but still is true. "Among all the young classical guitarists on UA-cam, she's my favourite. Perfect technique, great feeling, rhythmical flexibility... and how beautiful she sounds!" I love all she is . Mike.
Now is Spring in Buenos Aires, the true "Primavera Porteña" I see thru my windows, and this music makes it even better You really nailed it, you are amazing! Congrats from Argentina
Гениальная исполнительница! Спасибо Стефани!!!
To sit there so relaxed and play such difficult music the best it can possibly be performed it’s just a gift thank you so much. I wonder if the composer and arranger had any idea it would sound that impeccable.
I love it, is very good!, feels great to hear an argentinian composer played by people from other countries. Lots of love send to you from argentina.
What an incredible talent! I've been binge watching her videos and, as a classical player of many years, I gotta say Ms Jones is a rare talent. I would love it if she were to record the 12 Etudes by Villa-Lobos. She has that uncommon ability to do them justice.
GRACIAS , STEPHANIE POR REPRESENTAR TAN HERMOSAMENTE A MI AMADO PAIS.( ARGENTINA )
Enjoyed this very much. Love the dynamic changes, and LOVE you sitting arrangement 🤓 Thanks for sharing 👏👏👏
just saw her live at Benaroya Hall in seattle 2 nights ago. so amazing!
To do something unique in this era with a classical guitar, amidst so many great performers on this platform is not easy. It's quite astonishing how you elevate the instrument and do justice to such an outstanding composer. The arrangement is quite clearly magnificent, too. Spotless playing, infused with so much life, I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling quite grateful to be able to listen to it.
Thank you for sharing, and I'm looking forward to your CD.
Lovely. So vividly performed.
sentir el tango que viene de tan admirable ejecución, es admirable. gracias por contribuir a que el tango no muera. saludos desde Argentina
Incredible playing as usual! Love the flare you put on every song you play.
Thank you, young Lady, for your mastership!
I praised S.J. here and there allready. She belongs to the very high class. Thx, Stephanie!
But, this whole recording is very high class, too. So thx for this to those who made it possible, too!
Such dedication to her art!
My favourite guitarist, best interpretation and sound!! Thanks a lot, from Italy
WOW!!! That was fantabulous! Wonderful interpretation, wonderful presentation, love the whole experience.
Love, love, LOVE this Stephanie!
just simply wonderful. Thank you, Stephanie.
Ok I figured it out. The music breathes when YOU play it! It's like you wrote it, it's so lyrical, precise, clean and perfectly articulated yet natural. Bravo! And the recording is superb!
This is transcendent.
Thank you for sharing this with us all.
💜
Immaculate performance. very well done!
cutest guitarist alive!
IMO, one of the greatest guitar players around. Amazing performance!
After almost 50 years of practicing and playing such an outstanding performance makes me thinking about what to do, practicing like crazy or giving up. Anyway, I will go on, the journey is the reward.
Making music is not a contest. No matter how often people try to turn it into one.
Same here Klaus, think I will stick to listening from now on..
breathtaking. And I couldn't resist to mention the beautifully crafted guitar.
This filled me with nothing but joy and ambition.
Thank you
Simply beautiful ! ! Intricate and bouncy....delightful 👏🏻
Best guitar playing I've heard in a long time !
THE FOUR SEASONS OF BUENOS AIRES
The "Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas," also known as the "Estaciones Porteñas" or "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires," are a set of four tango compositions written by Ástor Piazzolla (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astor_Piazzolla,) which were originally conceived and treated as different compositions rather than one suite, although Piazzolla performed them together from time to time. The pieces were scored for his quintet of violin (viola), piano, electric guitar, double bass and bandoneón. By giving the adjective porteño, referring to those born in Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital city, Piazzolla gives an impression of the four seasons in Buenos Aires.
The Seasons...
Verano Porteño (Buenos Aires Summer, 1965)
Invierno Porteño (Buenos Aires Winter, 1969)
Primavera Porteña (Buenos Aires Spring, 1970)
Otoño Porteño (Buenos Aires Autumn, 1970)
In 1996-1998, the Russian composer Leonid Desyatnikov made a new arrangement of the above four pieces with more obvious link between Vivaldi and Piazzolla, by converting each of pieces into three-section pieces, and re-arranging for solo violin and string orchestra. In each piece he included several quotations from original Vivaldi's work but due to seasons being inverted between northern and southern hemispheres, thus, for example, Verano Porteño had added elements of L'inverno (Winter) of Vivaldi.

My favorite classical guitarist!
Me too. She has something more.
Just dancing away on the guitar, wow! Such good technique!!!
She performed this in Austin and she played it just as good live as she does on UA-cam. Bravo!!! I was speechless
AGAIN SURPASSING THE DIVINE PASSION WITH WHICH THIS DIFFICULT PIECE IS PERFORMED. You never cease to amaze me, the class!
