      Quality went down also, the new COROLLA CROSS and YIARIS CROSS (Both SUVs)
      Both cars are full of plastic inside, no leather to be feltanywhere ... The HYBRID is the only good option!
      Also, MAZDA made the MX-50 Hybrid using theToyota system used in the Prius, and the MX-50 sells for less!

      @DoYouThinkForUrselF 16 годин тому +15

      all things equal you are pushing more air through the engine and that equals more pressure and more heat. It often lowers the longevity of engines. It also comes down to people not knowing how to use a turbo car. You should always let the engine idle for a minute or so before you shut it off, giving the engine time to cool before you shut it off. You are also adding tech and adding to the complexity of the car. More complexity often leads to more things that can go wrong.
      Hence why i bought a Camry at the end of it's model run with just a plain 2.5 liter engine. Simple tech on a car that had been in production for 9 years and all the kinks were worked out. Often new models make you the guinea pig, first year out of the box. However there are people who who say they have owned turbos for years and had no problems. I suspect they sell them after 5 or 6 years and don't run them to 300 000 plus miles. It also matters how you drive them and highway miles vs city miles make a big difference. Maintenance is also key. Many variables.

    • @ericpizarro3084
      @ericpizarro3084 11 годин тому

      I don’t agree. Turbo vehicles are fine as long as you don’t abuse them and, change oil regularly. Still they have better torque when you need it. I have had 3 turbo vehicles( even a modified Subaru STI) it was a commute vehicle not for racing or rally racing. I just liked more power. Never had a single issue with it. We now have a Subaru Ascent for over 6 years. So far flawless with 72,000 miles.

    Here is what Toyota does not get. Many young men, say in there low to mid 20's would make enough to afford a new Tacoma in the high 20's and low 30's and then as they made more money their next one may be a TRD PRO or even a Tundra, They were Toyota folks for life , the same for young families. Those trucks and cars have disappeared from the market as you need mid 30's for a Camry and mid 40's for a Tacoma. Not only have they lost the newer younger generation but even the mid to older generation. I am not too smart but I know "basic" economics.

    I’m old enough to remember when Toyota (and Honda for that matter) offered quality at an economical price. The main reason why they rose to prominence was because in the 70’s while a lot of American cars looked great they were trash under the hood and got like 9 miles to the gallon on a good day. When you add two different oil crises in the decade people went to Toyota because they were affordable, reliable and got good MPG. Now they aren’t affordable, their reliability is still decent but nowhere near what it used to be and they don’t really offer any real advantage in MPG.

    Toyota used to have pride and bent over backwards to deliver a product that everyone wanted and at a good price point. Unfortunately, pride turned to greed and toyota morphed into the big 3 American companies in the 80's. Reliability is way down and so is something called value. The engineering on newer vehicles is laughable. For instance, no one wants to remove the front bumper to replace a headlight. Whomever thought the new oil filters was a good idea should be flogged. As a consumer, I demand value. I want longevity and low maintenance. Toyota is no longer listening to me so I am going to have to look elsewhere. Oh and guess what, I wont be buying a 4 banger turbo for a truck or SUV. Lastly, if you want me to buy a toyota, it is going to be made in the U.S. or Japan.

    I don't think your numbers on Toyota are accurate. I have 6 Toyota dealers within a 50mi radius of me and none of these dealers can get cars, i.e. Camry, RAV4, Crown, etc. When they get cars they are sold before they hit the dealers lot. What I've been told by 3 of these dealers is that Toyota has cut production and some other dealers say there are part shortages. Whatever the reason, there are few Toyota cars to be had in my area and some of these dealers are owned by large auto corporations, meaning, they should have clout w/Toyota and be able to secure inventory especially if sales are low as you state.

Myself, family members and friends are sick of cheap cars. We want to own a reliable vehicle 15-20 years from now and drive every day for work, business, entertainment, road trips with any major issue even at 200k miles. This happens constantly with Toyota vehicles. People love to buying our 20 years old Toyota with a few hundred thousand miles on the odometers, other brands have to be sold to junkyards for a few hundred bucks. I currently driving a 2021 Toyota Sienna and have never experienced a single issue even after 110,000 miles
    My adult daughter who is senior electrical engineer is still driving her 20 year old Toyota Camry 4 cylinders that she bought it used in high school. The Camry still runs like new after one quarter of million miles.
