  • I review the 2010 Audi S4 with a 6-Speed Manual and the Prestige package. What do you think about the Audi S4? Do you prefer the previous generation's V8 over this supercharged V6? This car is available to buy from Harrison Auto Sales. You can see the listing here: www.autotrader.com/dealers/dda...

  • @edkwon
    @edkwon 9 років тому +5

    Great review, I own a 2014 S4 (s tronic) myself and the only point I'd disagree with is your comment on the sharp steering. The S4 may have decent steering response and feedback *for an Audi* but I think the steering feel is still a bit numb compared to other cars in its class (BMW 335i,M3, Sti, Evo, etc) and in normal day to day driving this poses no problem and actually makes for a more pleasant drive, but if you push it hard in twisty back roads , you feel the limits of the steering pretty quickly.

    • @chriswallick8614

      Kayone73 I think the steering rack on the 2010 is different than the 2014 cus is 2013 is when they switched to electro mechanical steering

    Great Review, but I have a suggestion that I do feel would improve the quality of your reviews... When you are referring to something (I.E. Steering Wheel, glovebox, etc) hold the video on that part while talking and making comments on it. It helps the viewers being able to relate to it rather than imagining what it would look like from the few seconds we saw of it earlier. Your reviews are getting better and better man! Keep up the work!

    Im either buying this or a 370z Nismo. haven't decided yet but this video is pushing me towards the S4 just a little less power, 4 door, manual and much more luxurious.

    • @eliteowner121
      @eliteowner121 9 років тому +5

      The B8 S4 is underrated. It is MUCH faster then a 370z nismo. Check out dyno charts. The car is outputting 320HP and 315 torque at the wheels.. meaning that the car is actually outputting close to 390HP. The 370z has no torque and at the wheels the car is only outputting maybe 290HP and 255TQ. I know this because I had a 2011 370z and recently upgraded to a 2012 6MT S4 fully loaded and it is definitely a faster vehicle.

    • @yurikpikh28
      @yurikpikh28 9 років тому

  • @StreetCruizer
    @StreetCruizer 11 років тому +1

    Great video once again. When I first heard that the new S4 wouldn't get a V8 anymore I was disappointed. But after a while I realized that supercharged V6 isn't bad at all. Especially if it comes to Tuning. As Chris Harris showed us, you can bring this thing up to the level of the RS4 easily. As an Avant with S-Tronic this car is almost the perfect everyday driver. If they just weren't that expensive...

    • @1970borntorun
      @1970borntorun 3 місяці тому

      Well, let's not forget that the non-RS4 4.2L V8 was plagued with that tendency to have the plastic timing-chain guides crack and break, and timing chains stretch, forcing the owner to shell out $5 - $8k to have the engine yanked and repair the engine. And that was extremely poor Engineering on AUDI's part.

    I have a question, and I know there has been some confusion about this too, online. Since AUDI didn't go to electric steering til the B8.5 generation, wouldn't the Drive Select button only control the engine software and transmission shift points? Matt here talks about ( not that he's wrong ) how the steering will add weight with the Drive Select in Dynamic Mode, but I don't see how that would make sense, given the B8 still has Hydraulic steering. And help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

    SubaruaWRXfan, how would you say compare to a new WRX or STI? On paper the S4 matches a lot of things a hot Subaru buyer might be looking for: lots of forced induction power, AWD performance, 4 door sedan, 6spd manual etc.
    A lightly used S4 would easily match the price of a new STI. Given your choice what would you pick?

    • @ankursharma8624
      @ankursharma8624 9 років тому

      Great question. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to buy a used Audi because you won't get the best warranty as new. So STI being a reliable Subaru is a no brainer.

    • @Trades46
      @Trades46 9 років тому

      Ankur Sharma
      Not anymore: recently Consumer Reports actually placed Audi as one of the top 3 most reliable brands today.
      Also, Audi has a pretty good warranty plan even for used models today (at least in Canada), so I personally think it is down to the driving experience.
      Subaru is the STI is still using the EJ engine dating back from the 90s. It does make good power & highly tunable, but from my father's old Legacy & Subaru forums, the EJ has a bad habit of eating head gaskets at ~150,000kms.

    I work at an Audi dealer and you don’t want to own a V8 S4 that’s more than 6 or 7 years old or over 60k miles. Tons of problems. Meanwhile, these are still very reliable. Some cars with well over 150k miles with no issues at all
