Mola Mola seems to be on the cutting edge. How much power do the Ossetra provide? And are they good down to 2 ohms?

As Ewald states at 9:12 (ua-cam.com/video/XQSb_PbE9io/v-deo.html), they are rated at 350 W at 8 Ohms. Though there are no published specifications on the Ossetra’s as yet - they are still not listed as production items - given the listed performance of the Kaluga’s (400W/8 Ohms, 700W/4 Ohms, 1200W/2 Ohms - www.mola-mola.nl/kaluga.php), I would not expect that there would be any issues with 2 Ohm loading.

I suspect that difficult loads and demanding impedance dips will be precisely where the Ossetra may shine coupled with incredibly high damping factor.. Bass could be relentlessly visceral when the loudspeaker are capable down there.
I cant wait to experience them.

Thx for the vid. However, talking extensively about ClassD Amplifiers, Mola Mola und especially the Tambaqui without paying tribute to Bruno Putzey feels not quite right or at least incomplete (although he left Hypex/Mola Mola). Just my 2ct…

At last check, Bruno has been granted, or is awaiting grants, on sixteen patients... patents.justia.com/inventor/bruno-putzeys
But let's be clear. Though he was part of the original concept of the Tambaqui, he left LONG before its realization. Further, he has not been part of this design team in a VERY long time. So while he IS a monster player in the Class D world, he is not the only one...

Wow, Wow and more Wow!!! My first reaction to the Mola Mola’s driving the Moya’s was disbelief! Has Class D technology (with designer signature) finally arrived? What’s driving the Integrated Amp-Dac-Streamer (all in one box) revolution seen by some manufacturers? For this aging audiophile who’s spine shows the years of wear and tear moving equipment in/out of my system, its a welcomed sight! That said, how would i get those Moya’s up a flight of stairs at the house! Terrific episode Greg. PS. My first pair of Audiophile Loudspeakers were a pair of newly reviewed B&W 801’s Series 3 (I believe), thx to a Ken Keesler (stereophile). Wonder if Dick from Vivid had a hand in shaping that model. Thank you so much! The 801 Series 3 was released about 1993, and as "Dic" didn't leave Bowers & Wilkins until 1997, it is a safe bet he was involved with that iteration. Thanks again for watching, and taking the time to write... Happy Memorial Day weekend!

A pair of Ossetra look interesting... But putting a Makua into the equation... There are some very convincing alternatives... But it won't stop me having a listen.. Choice is never a bad thing. 👍🏻
