#GravityFalls #Disney #Reaction - Розваги
I've often heard this described as the worst episode of Gravity Falls ever, and I think that's solely due to its placement this late in the season. If it had come out right after "Into the Bunker" like it was supposed to, I think it would've been much better received, and not messed with the flow of the show's overall narrative. Because by itself, it's actually pretty decent, save for the Dipper and Candy pairing, which comes right out of nowhere and is never brought up again.
I think it’s also because of the messaging. Like, Dipper literally did nothing wrong. It’s not like he was in a relationship with any of these girls. He like what, talked to each them for a minute or two, some others probably 5-10?
if it was literally ANYWHERE else in the show except season 2b i’d like it more, hell it’s a good episode by any other show’s standards
it just feels so out of place in the sense that they don’t mention ford or bill or any of the ongoing plot ONCE
Honestly, I think it's not that good, even if it was in the first season. The girls were acting like Dipper was cheating on them or something, when all he did was talk to them, plus he was kinda forced into going with candy.
I get what the writers were trying to say. They just executed it very poorly
From what I’ve read The creator wasn’t a big fan of the ships and created candy and dipper to try and steer people away from the other ships but to me it just reminded me of how much chemistry dipper had with Pacifica. Even as a kid I just like them more plus the creator of amphbia wrote or directed northwest mansion noir and he loved Pacifica’s character so it make sense why it’s such a fan favorite episode.
Why are you always here lol
There is a theory that Stan's ex-wife was Eda from the Owl House.
In a special commentary track for "Land Before Swine," Stan describes Marilyn as having pale skin and an abnormally sharp tooth, and that she was wearing a shirt reading "Over 30 & Very Flirty". He also states that "Marilyn" was a fake name, and that she disappeared after "[ducking] out of a door and into a canyon". These descriptions of Marilyn's appearance and personality bear a striking resemblance to Edalyn Clawthorne, a main character from Dana Terrace's The Owl House.
In the Lost Legends graphic novel, a wanted poster with a silhouette matching Eda, along with her staff, can be seen, suggesting that the character may exist in the Gravity Falls universe. Additionally, Terrace made the statement in a Reddit AMA that Eda had previously been to Vegas. Finally, in the The Owl House episode "Yesterday's Lie," Eda is shown to have used the alias "Marylin" while on Earth. All of this suggests that "Marilyn" may, in fact, be Eda herself.
Edit: I just learned that it was canon. Stan did marry Eda.
I thought that was confirmed to be canon by the creators-
@@fandomsfan1 it is
This was actually confirmed to be canon
I'm sorry... WHAT????
@@harleystephens3814 crazy right?
This episode was described by Alex Hirsch as a sort of "cool-down episode". It's the calm before the storm. It's right before things get WEIRD.
You mean like ... a WEIRDMAGEDDON? 😆
@roktavory7399 yes, the vs the future episode was the build up
I see what you’re ‘GEDDON’ at there… it’s a little weird, actually… ;)
Apparently this episode was supposed to take place before Ford came out of the portal and Northwest Mansion. Therefore, this explains why the pines family went on a road trip, instead of stayed inside the shack to protect their minds from Bill.
I hope she doesnt stick to the 1/month shedule or we will be on this till August. ^^
I don't know what I'd find funnier: the idea that Ford is the basement with no idea any of this is going on, or the idea that they mistook him for Stan and have him hogtied somewhere, confused and pissed off.
This episode is misplace, so technically Ford wasn't there yet to begin with
@@GreenTeam-re3jyaccording to what I’ve read or heard it was stated that ford was there. He was the one who suggested the go on the road trip so he can work on the rift
@millerkarageanes1562 that doesn't make sense or sound like Ford at all. The man has the biggest trust issues I have ever seen. Why should he send them on a road trip when they just billproved the shack and risk letting Bill in someone's mind.
@@millerkarageanes1562 Everything I've heard is the opposite. This is before Ford showed up. That's why he's not even mentioned in passing. It's before Northwest Manor, hence Dipper not having moved on from Wendy yet
@@JAce94007 then it was probably a retcon that he was there
Yeah… It’s definitely a “WTF” episode. Quite possibly the most “WTF” of them all… but after that… Prepare yourself _starts heating up popcorn_ .
🥤🍿I already have.🍿🥤
… The last *breather* episode… hope you’re ready for episodes 17 through 20.
I've watched all of the finale episodes and still got goosebumps all over me.
This epsidoe has one of my favorite lines in the entire series:
"Kind of confused by the phrase 'new mummies daily', though"
This episode might’ve been better if it was in between “The Love God” and “Northwest Mansion Mystery” as originally intended
Yeah, it makes much more sense as an earlier episode.
Wow, that makes so much more sense.
It would've also given us a possibility for a Dipper and Pacifica relationship 💘 💘 💘
Really this was supposed to air before fords return…wow makes sense now that I know why ford didn’t chase off the other attraction personnel with laser beams and other hi-tech weapons…or something
@@FrogmanAnime It really doesn't make sense for it to be in this placement. Between the last episode and DaMvTV (Dipper and Mabel vs The Future), I mean. There's no mention of Ford's presence, Dipper's trying to get over Wendy, so it's a good idea to introduce Pacifica as a love interest RIGHT AFTER he gets over Wendy, and, since Bill has all eyes on the Shack, it makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE FOR ANYONE TO LEAVE IT, since it's the most fortified place to be if Ford happened to not be around them at all times.
Candy's crush aside, Dipper's interactions with the girls were so G-rated I wouldn't consider that cheating. I realized it was supposed to be the kid version of a pickup artist but it came off as more platonic.
Yeah Stan might've given bad advice, but Dipper used it in a harmless way. It also can't reasonably be considered cheating because he wasn't in an exclusive romantic relationship with anyone

3:08 Honestly, mabel is pretty good at getting over crushes. She just moves on to the next one while Dipper has only liked wendy the whole summer. Not that what Mabel is doing is right, but you can't say she doesn't move on from her crushes
Yeah agreed, she’s the opposite of Dipper in the sense that she won’t get hung over one person. She literally has 5 different crushes (if you include Sev’ral Timez as one crush lol) throughout the show
This was definitely supposed to go before Northwest Mansion Mystery
I spent years not really liking this episode. But now I'm seeing comments saying this was meant to be before northwest mansion noir. If so, then I'm a lot happier. He could have this episode to grow and learn to be himself around girls, and he'll meet one that likes him for who he is.
Valid whether you ship him with pacifica or not (even though they were very cute in their interactions).
Personally, I don't think Dipper did anything wrong by doing some casual flirting with different girls he (and they) had no reason to believe he'd see again. It's fun to flirt, in the right context. Someone you meet on vacation? Practically no chance of that being serious, so if there's a connection, go for it. The confrontation with all 3 of them was contrived, and they really shouldnt have expected anything from their previous short conversations. The only mistake Dipper made was with Candy.
I dunno. The episode is right that Stan's advice is bad, but Dipper's behavior is overly demonized. He spoke to them, made some jokes, and complemented them in non creepy ways. The whole setup rubs me the wrong way.
True, but I think what sells it as being wrong is the fact that Dipper made it seem like he was going to keep in touch with those girls by getting their contact info, when he really never meant to even think about them again. Again, on its own it's a mostly harmless thing to do, but the message is about using false promises of an emotional connection to get what you want out of women. Like the kid-friendly version of telling a woman you love her to get her in bed, then ghosting her right after. Or just using conquests as a way to boost your self-confidence. It could've been more overt, but Idk if Disney would want Dipper to be actually creepy on-screen.
@@witchylizzy6024 Except he didn't ASK for their information, they gave it to him without any implication from him that he wanted it. (Not that he fought against it.)
I think it was in this ep. mentioned woman Marilyn. Woman who married him, stole his money in Las Vegas. Had pale skin, sharp tooth. I think you know this description from somewhere else right? TOH? 😁
This was a weird episode for me personally. I somehow missed this episode when the episodes were coming out. It wasn’t until 2022 when I was re watching the show for the first time in years that I found out this one existed.
Yeah, it came out during a weird time, like after a long time from the last episode
Although Mabel is a bit selfish when it comes to romance, she was also just trying to help her friend. Plus, the fact that she was happy for Candy and tried to help as opposed to getting upset that her best friend had a crush on her brother was pretty cool!
Yeah! Mabel is awesome!

I absolutley LOVE this episode! Good lesson about treating women like PEOPLE and a lot of funny jokes. Genuinley one of my favourites.
Agreed!
It's a fun episode, but I feel like it fails to teach the lesson. It comes across more like "once you show the slightest attraction to somebody, you're basically married to them"
Lol tbf Mabel crushes on multiple different people whereas Dipper continuously pursues one, even when they've made it clear they don't reciprocate the feelings
Pacificia + Dipper all the way
Imagine if Pacifica was in this episode, and she probably would develop feelings for Dipper way before this episode. After the events of Mystery of Northwest Manor, she might develop feelings for him.

The Spider Lady transformation really freaked me out. Can't unsee that.
We are so close to the end guys...
the Spider Woman was well done and her true form was pretty scary but drop dead gorgeous in human form. best of both worlds
Ok I really love Gravity Falls since I grew up with it. Looking back on the show, it really has some bad episodes and definitely didn't do everything right, but I still love it for other reasons: It revolutionized basically every media and type of entertainment, but mainly cartoons and animation, and without it, we probably wouldn't have shows like TOH, Amphibia, Dead End,... or even Indie Anomation like Hazbin Hotel. Gravity Falls achieved that using things like animal heads bleeding out of the eyes(northwest mansion mystery), a lot of stuff Bill Cipher did, or, as you'll see, the whole concept of the show's finale. The whole mystery thing in the show, the Cipher Hunt ARG, the Journal 3 book and a LOT of hidden codes really made me love ARGs and stuff like that. Gravity Falls inspired so many people to do so many amazing things. That's why I love Gravity Falls. It was the origin of so many different things I love, and probably the reason I love them.
The point of this one is to learn a lesson about how that attitude is wrong and I think it pulls that off well. You gotta remember this is written for people having their first experiences where things like pickup artists seem to have good advice, so it's better they learn that here in an approachable way.
Fun fact, Chelsea Peretti voiced Darlene, Chelsea was on Brooklyn Nine Nine, SML and married to Jordan Peele
I actually love this episode, separately from the Gravity Falls continuum, because of the spider lady’s one-liners about men’s behavior are validating to me.
I’m surprised that people dislike this episode
It’s like, in my top 10 favorites or something
This episode was actually supposed to take place after into the bunker
Yeah, it would've been better as either the 4th or 5th episode.
I just love the inner Elijah mentioning Dipcifica all the time lol
The only reason people are saying this is the worst episode is because of its placement. If this followed into the bunker, it would make sense. I still enjoy this episode regardless, and ngl, I still ship Dipper and Candy.
I mean. I didn't grow up with it, I was an adult with 2 kids before I watched the show and I think you're being wayyy too harsh with the kiddos here.
The calm before the storm.
0:02: CHAGGIE KEYCHAIN! 🤗
Bro the Charlie and vaggie key chain is so cuteee! Also amazing video as always😊
4:12-4:27 I knew that she was gonna mention Dicifica.
5:24 You literally can see the horror in Elijah's eyes
Even as a kid i hated this episode. I thought to myself, "Instead of a date episode between him and Pacifica, we got this...?" And honestly, looking back now, I would willing trade that for this episode. The more I think about this episode flaws, the more it irritates me we didn't get more time between Dipper and Pacifica after the mansion party. Agian, I would so much rather have an episode just between them than what we got with this.
Get ready girl! Next episode isn't gonna the very happy! Someone's keeping an "eye" on you...
OMG ITS HAPPENING! SHE IS ACTUALLY GOING TO REACT TO GOOD OMENS!!! GOOD OMENS IS LITERALLY MY FAVORITE SHOW, MY COMFORT SHOW, AND MY WHOLE LIFEEEE!
This episode was supposed to come out earlier in the season, which is why it seems out of place, but that’s what Gravity Falls is all about, things out of place
So, this episode was based aftera road trip Alex and the crew took between seasons, and as the last 'casual' episode before things are sure go south with Bill in a climax, Alex figured this be best to air right before. But a road trip right after they put a barrier on the Shack against Bill? ...yeah. The irl journal has Ford give an explanation, though that's probably an aftereffect. I could also imagine TOH saying Lilith's scrying potion to spy in the castle spilled shortly after Separate Tides to excuse it not coming back into the plot.
Candy with Dipper was sort of foreshadowed in Mabel's diorama in Love God, but agree in not putting that ship over Pacifica (or even Wendy).
Spiders may scare me, but fortunately this was cartoony enough to not push me from watching on. Same goes for tgamm with the 6-legged
The only episode of gracity falls i only watched once
You are scarcely prepared for the next time, my friend
Dipcifica is the perfect ship name next to Lumity!!!!
I agree with Elijah regarding Pacifica. She and Dipper are perfect for each other because he didn't have to try to impress Pacifica. He was just being himself while talking to her. He showed her that she doesn't have to be like her parents who control her with a bell the whole time. She can just be whoever she wants to be. Honestly, I'm actually surprised that Pacifica wasn't in this episode, and I think that this episode should have come before the "Northwest Mansion Mystery" episode.
I've been watching your Gravity Falls videos from the beginning, and it's been such a wonderful experience! We're at the last four episodes, and I'm so excited to see how you react to them! This is gonna be a wild ride!
I get why a lot of people don’t like this episode, but spider lady is a fucking QUEEN. I LOVE HER. S L A Y. 💅
This is an episode that I’m not big into personally, though I think it’s mainly because of its placement in the series. This feels like it belongs earlier in the season, like before “Not What He Seems” or even “Northwest Mansion Mystery”. I still like the chemistry between Dipper and Stan though, and how the latter is trying to help Dipper with his problems. But while this episode doesn’t offer much, things are only bound to pick up afterwards, so all I can say for that is be prepared.
Actually, what I mean to say is, “yes, our teeth and ambitions are bared! Be prepared!”
As someone who has seen The Lion King thousands of times, I recognized that quote immediately. 😂
Yeah, imagine if this episode took place before in the early part of season 2. It would've really more of a possible Dipper and Pacifica relationship.
Interestingly, Stan’s divorce was the start of a semi-canon thing that the actors started at a panel, which led to the assertions that Eda The Owl Lady was the one he married. 😂 I alive the idea, but don’t know if it fully checks out.
As someone with a 10 year old sister that is already getting her first crushes in school I can attest that the delulu is accurate 😂😅 Once she was convinced a boy liked her bc he asked her for a pencil and not someone else😅😂I talked her down of the idea but if you only have your same age friends to talk to shenanigans will happen for sure😂😂😅
I love the design of Doreen and the way she pulls her face apart to reveal her true self. That's creepy and so clever.
8:11 How!? I love but also hate the fact that Elijah is so damn observant.
"I didn't grow up with this show, maybe it's because of my age". Ha. I watched this show for the first time ever when I was 32, and I found stuff happening with Dipper and Candy quite relateable as I had problems with being myself and how to approach someone I liked. It was cringey, it was awkward, and it was annoying and frustrating. So, I think Gravity Falls nailed it.
The mention of Good Omens had me jumping with excitement ngl
the only thing we had to fear is gigantic man eating spiders - Quentin trembley
"divorced once". In the journal its stated that Stan was married to a girl for 1 night, who then stole all of his things. The girls name was...? Lets just say, she also goes by the name of Eda Clawthorne...
Omg you’re doing good omens! You should defo check out what we do in the shadows and our flag means death if you enjoy it because they are in a similar vein/ often paired up and are even more gay lol!
This episode is funny because it is so out of place and her reaction is priceless I was so happy Alex hirsch put this episode here because we needed it before the big crazy stuff and this being the calm before the storm is just like in one of the dragon prince episodes that I can't wait for her to watch and I'm upset because i can't watch her Livestream because of school but seeing this made me so much better

Ohhh you're in for a TREAT for these last few episodes lol!
Also yesss I'm SO excited to see what you think of good omens!! Little heads up though, the first few episodes are really confusing when you first see them but the episodes after that helps everything make sense in the best way!!
"Roadside Attractions": The last "sorta normal" episode of "Gravity Falls" before things go FUBAR. Grunkle Stan goes to war against other shops, Dipper gets horrible dating advice, Candy comes to the rescue, and The Mystery Shack gets "remodeled."
It did the opposite of what you said it might for me. I watched the show when I was younger, and this video helped me realize how ridiculous it is that she even had a crush on him in the first place.
15:20 YES! Things are about to get ineffable!
The introduction is cute with Charlie & Vaggie❤❤
I can't wait for them to see the big plot twist with deputy Durland and sheriff Blubs in the last episode.
The fact that Stan’s ex wife is actually EDA THE OWL LADY!!! (This is canon, they got drunk and got married in Vegas)
To be fair to Mabel here, I don't think she's ever claimed to be over her previous romantic encounters, or boys in general. She is boy crazy and she owns it. Whereas Dipper did actually say in an earlier episode that he was now over Wendy. No hypocrisy on Mabel's end here.
That's doesn't make it better, she still is kind of hypocrite for getting mad at Dipper, and to be fair, that's not even the point, she just forced her friend into relationship with her brother, who didn't even know Candy had a crush on him, but she still made everything look like he CHEATED on Candy.
15:21 literally gasped so hard at this part, am so excited for you to start reacting to good omens!!!

4:22 Yeah, this episode happened before that episode, but for some reason it was placed between the endgame Bill Ciphery episodes.

One day or another, I hope you make a show tier list.
I understand why many people consider this the worst episode but I think this episode is alright. It's not my favorite but there are definitely episodes worse than this one. If I rewatch the series again, I would put this episode after Little Shop of Horrors, as it's better to be shown before all the crazy stuff happen. It's like in the last episode we get left on a cliffhanger, then we get this filler episode lol

I’m actually an apologist for the episode. I agree with other people that Dipper didn’t really do anything wrong, but I really liked his dynamic with Emma Sue (upside down house girl), and I like that she was able to unintentionally help him out of his shell, since even fake confidence requires some degree of real confidence. I actually like the idea of those two a lot, it’s kind of a crack ship I have. But yeah, this episode PROBABLY should’ve been earlier in the season, but I still enjoy it
I’m so ready to see how you enjoy the final episodes! This is the last break!
Also it doesn’t look like you noticed it, but Stan prayed for Paul Bunyan to save him, and the statue which crushed Darlene was of Paul Bunyan
I thought I was the only one who shipped him and Emma Sue together! 😂 Like Dipcifica has potential (from Northwest Mystery and the comic) because they have differences in mindset, have walls up and play off each other in wit and strong personality, but Emma Sue? Girl loved his weirdness from the get-go and you're right, faking confidence needs a smidge of actual confidence to really nail the act home, and I kinda liked the messege of the episode, even if the execution was wobbly to most fans 😅
