As someone with a severe gluten allergy, I can see how some parents could be upset by the gluten joke. It was most likely the scene where they threw pancakes at him, a similar thing happened with a Peter Rabbit movie where they stuffed blackberries in someone’s mouth, causing them to have anaphylaxis. Fun fact about Susie Q. Amy Jo was chosen specifically because she played Kimberly Hart the pink Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. The director worked with her during her time there.
32:57 To elaborate on this Brian Peck was the voice of talking mirror in London's room on the suite life of Zach and Cody. Lot of controversy after multiple people realized Disney hired a known sex offender. He was mentioned on Blameitonjorge's documentary on Dan Schneider where I believe it also mentions he associated with other people who would be later accessed of doing terrible things as well.
I always wondered who he was on the show, because even watching Jorge’s documentary the name didn’t ring a bell at all. Thank you for answering that question for me
@@moonwind6886 It's a thing where people "feel old" because they remember things they forgot about for so long, no they're not actually old. Just a matter of seeing how much time flies.
im lucky i grew up in the golden age of disney channel (in my opinion), my fav shows being that's so raven, kim possible, lizzie mcguire, hannah montana, and suite life of zack and cody, also i was 8 when pixel perfect aired and it was one of my fav disney channel movies lol
I was born in 1997. I grew up watching shows on Playhouse Disney such as Out Of The Box. And for normal Disney, I grew up when Kim Possible was still brand new. Ya know, when Disney actually had heart and soul when it came to their creativity.
I'm 19 but still find myself watching Disney's cartoons. My current favorite Disney show is DuckTales 2017, But I also enjoy Gravity Falls, Amphibia and The Owl House. I'm looking forward to their Darkwing Duck reboot too, hope it comes out soon. Edit: I forgot about Phineas and Ferb how could I do something like that- That's also one of my top 10 cartoons I still watch to this day lol
@@waffle7358 The fuck 💀 buddy I’m literally Mexican and I don’t think it’s racist to like white only shows as long as you do just because your fav shows coincidentally only have white people in them. If you watch shows specifically BECAUSE they have only white people in them, then that’s racist. Gtf outta here with your nonsense 💀
I like how your like “People didn’t know Miley and Selena were Disney channel starts” while also talking about shows that came out barely before your were born like they are really old. Like that seems odd, especially since your like 18/19; your not that old, not even a non-teenager. Their not even/only 20 years old.
the gluten joke was distasteful, as someone with life threatening allergies. Jessie is a lot worse than i remember it being. There were a lot of stereotypes in it and it got worse in its sequel, bunkd. there's also creepy Connie. there was so much gross shit being played for laughs in this show, looking back on it disgusts me. the laugh track playing whenever that little Asian girl talked about her mother *abusing* her and her brother on bunkd unnerved me, or when it played when Creepy Connie started stalking Luke. i genuinely don't understand why this show was greenlit.
Legit my ringtone is still Kim Possible's text tone. I can't tell you how many people still walk past me when it goes off and scream "WHAT'S THE SITCH?!!?"
i really like the way you encourage the listener to go do something while listening. little things like that can make a huge difference. i personally prefer videos that i can mainly listen to because listening to something helps motivate me and keep my mood up. i dont hear a lot of content creators encouraging people to get up and do stuff. much respect to you brother great vid
As a person with celiac disease that knows a lot of heartbreaking stories about children that get the CD from an early age and suffer their whole life because their bodies’ development got hindered by this really underestimated disease (not me, I was lucky to get it triggered when I was 22 y/o), I can totally see why the gluten free episode in Jesse was distasteful for audiences... If only people knew what gluten provokes even on an average sensitive celiac like me... they wouldn’t make much fun of the diet.
I have a problem with the fact that kids tv uses purposely exposing someone to their allergen as a gag. I have celiac, kids are brutal and would throw shit at me in the cafeteria or stuff things in my mouth. I had to be hospitalized more than once. In middle school it felt like I had a target on my back because middle schoolers are just… mean??? For no reason?? And my poor friends would watch shows like that, and then think they were pulling a funny prank on me, only to realize they put me in severe danger. It’s traumatic for everyone involved.
I agree. I don't know why people have such an issue with people who have food allergies anyway. I'm like, dude, it hardly affects you! Not to mention the lack of empathy for these people. I don't have allergies, but I have family members who do. It doesn't hurt me that they have allergies. My brother can't have nuts or seeds. So what? Is it the end of the world for me? Should I play the victim because I can't have a peanut butter flavered cake with him? Poor me, right? Never mind the fact that my brother might end up in the hospital if he accidentally eats a nut. Clearly MY wants are more important than my younger brother's health, right? I don't know why people make fun of people with allergies when, ironically, these bullies are more triggered by these people for existing.
I remember the venessa situation from when I was a kid. I think it was a news article and all the pictures at the time where censored. I cried for her at that age I felt terrible that something like that was put out. At the time Zac was blamed and was alleged that the pictures where sent to him. It made me hate him for years and it still doesn’t sit right
I think those pictures (at least some of them) were taken when she was as young as 14. I think that Drake Bell might've sent them, since she and Zac didn't even know each other when she was that young, and apparently her and Drake dated once they met on the set of Drake and Josh. I might be wrong though. I don't think Zac sent them, though it makes sense for a lot of people to think that. I did too when I first heard about it.
I'm 19 turning 20 this year. I grew up with a lot of Playhouse Disney throughout the 2000s but when it comes to Disney Channel, Phineas and Ferb was definitely my favorite. I still remember tons of episodes for some reason. Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Wizards of Waverly Place were pretty good too.
I remember watching commercials for "Quitting cold koala", waiting for the episode to premier. The summary was there, but they played a rerun episode instead which confused me
I think Close Encounters is referencing a mini documentary which only aired in a few states and it talked about ufos and stuff like that. It tied into the ride of the same name
I'm confused as to why Pixel Perfect is on this iceberg. I remember watching it multiple times on tv and they currently have it on Disney Plus. Edit: Omg I remember Zoog I feel so damn old
This has got to be a deep dive for people your age, I was born in 99’ and you’ve got me feeling old asf. loved pixel perfect but only watched it as reruns tho
Close Encounters was a mistake I’d assume. The guy who made the iceberg was likely referring to Alien Encounter, not to be confused with the ride. It was a documentary played totally straight about the possibility of alien life that aired back in 1995. It never aired again
Sad that the only criteria to make it to the iceberg is just being an "old" show or movie. By "old" I mean you kids weren't alive yet so therefore it's automatically "obscure."
tbh my favorite Disney shows were the original movie spin off shows that came on at like 2am. I remember a little mermaid, lilo and stitch, and a timon and pumba one. Definitely Even Stevens, Darkwing Duck, Recess, Gargoyles, Out of the Box, Bear in the Big Blue House are some others I loved and miss. There were SO many shows I watched on Playhouse Disney.
@@cooladam9930 dismissive comment aside, coming from a younger person, it isn't about feeling old, just that very young people have a tendency to say things are super old when it came out like 2-3 years ago lol. makes sense because their life experience is so limited at, like, 16, but still. with perspective, it can come off obnoxious or ridiculous. as he said, the audience for this type of thing is varied in all ages so it can also be alienating. also, if you're going to make an explanatory iceberg video, it's assumed you'll go partially in depth about each thing. some of the coverage was assumptions and he didn't' really seem to do much of his own research. saying something's too old or unpopular for relevance doesn't work when you're doing this type of video.
@@waffle7358 No it entirely depends on the character itself. If it's a bad character black or white or Hispanic or anything, people may not like them or the show. If the main character was black they'd still like it for how robust and solid the main characters of Gravity Falls are. Now if we mean tokenism then that's not really valid, as making someone a minority for the sake of it is not a good way to continue pushing whatever media you are showing. Like y'know how B movies tend to get flak for having sex and random violence because it's cool and doesn't link itself to the actual plot, that's what I mean. You can like a character however they look if you enjoy how they are portrayed and shown in terms of how they act and how their personality works for the audience, the whole race thing is irrelevant unless they use race for the plot and not because they made everyone white because because racism, that's not true.
If I'm not mistaken, the 65 episodes thing is for TV syndication. The threshold for that is usually 100 episodes, or 80-100 episodes. But, some shows get by with 65 episodes as a threshold
Good video, but I can’t help but notice how you made a few mistakes or missed out on talking about specific aspects of the iceberg entries. The reason Chad x Ryan is so popular is because of a popular fan theory that they slept together following a musical number in which they tease each other. The evidence of this lost point to is the fact that Chad and Ryan switched clothes after the musical number. Shia labeouf is on the list because he used to act in Disney channel shows when he was young. I suggest asking whoever made the iceberg about the entries before making a whole video about it. I think it could help legitimize your info
The pixel perfect is on the iceberg also because the movie was A TRIP. It's about a guy who makes a holographic girl with an AI to be a perfect girl, and she want's to be alive, and she posesses his classmate via lifesuport in the hospital just to feel rain on her face and ultimately DIES to set them free. I had TRAUMA after that movie!
I was born in 95 and grew up watching Disney channel from 03 and on so I actually saw when pixel perfect aired for the first time. A really good movie that I consider one of my favorite Disney movies!👊🏽
I’m surprised Tru Confessions, So Weird (my favorite Disney original show), In A Heartbeat, The Famous Jett Jackson, Can of Worms, Stepsister from Planet Weird, that Winnie the Pooh puppet show, along with many other really obscure shows.
I don't know if I'm alone on this but as a kid who grew up without cable for a long part of my childhood I would love to see a PBS (Public Television) iceberg. Edited to say: I did watch Tailspin (I was born in '87) but it was syndicated to network tv on a Disney Saturday morning cartoon block. I loved that show.
Children with Celiac Disease know what gluten is. This Kids sometimes are getting bullied because of something they have no control over and the episode made it look like it is okay to be mean to someone that does not eat gluten. Also when a kid with the disease sees this they think that the people in their maybe favourite Show would not like them.
I used to love Jessie and Good Luck Charlie lol I remember seeing the gluten episode of Jessie. I've got a horrifying amount of allergies and still found the jokes funny
One thing they forgot to mention was the Disney channel games which was an event Disney hosted and recorded for Disney channel. The event would gather a shit ton of Disney channel stars from around the world and would take them to the espn world wide sports complex located at Walt Disney world and put them in colored teams and have them do competitive games. It only ran for 3 seasons and I think you can find the third season on Disney+
its so strange to me that people my my age are literal adults and have careers like your channel while i'm just living off my parents still. i'm born in 2002 too.
BORN IN 96 I REMEMBER WHEN DISNEY CHANNEL WAS AT ITS PRIME IN THE EARLY TO MID 2000s LOVE PIXEL PERFECT , TOON DISNEY WAS GREAT ALSO FEEL LUCKY AND GREATFUL TO HAVE EXPERIENCED IT 💯
@@mewow3556 honestly I have not it’s not really geared towards my generation, the shows during that era I feel creatively had more lessons in them and meaningful plots rather than cash grabs nowadays, every show is the same now with the same kinda characters no character development no lessons being taught , the premise of tv in current times are forcing jokes and laughs when back then it was natural and it was overly saturated with the same thing . DCOM movies were golden , even had different music videos that used to play during commercials from the DCOM movies even monstober was 🔥 , MOVIE SURFERS was great , etc just had to be there 💯
6:38 children who cannot eat gluten fully understand what that means, and will be affected by people mocking them for it. a childrens show not only making fun of someone for having a food intolerance, but acting as if thats okay is how you end up with waitstaff in 20 years who assume someones lying when they cant eat something.
I remember seeing Suzy Q because I was a big Power Rangers fan at the time. I saw the movie several times and it's definitely strange how it's faded into obscurity over the years.
I actually thought I would hear some of the same stuff that I heard before on the iceberg, but u actually gave more stuff then the other vids I watched.Keep up the good work!👍
Fun fact: You can actually find the uncensored version of 'Deadly force' from gargoyles on youtube! (Honestly it doesn't make that big of a difference if blood is added or not. In the uncensored version, it was merely made to look like a puddle rather than it being pictured as being sprayed all over the place like most imagine it to be.)
Not a show but the Zombies movies are big guilty pleasures of mine. I can't not watch either film without a big dopey smile on my 20yo face. Some of the songs are complete bangers and almost every joke lands for me, so the actual content combined with the craft and care put into every background detail makes it legitimately my favorite set of TV movies.
I mainly watched Jessie, Austin and Ally, and Goodluck Charlie, and later down the line Dog with A Blog. So many good memories coming back from school and watching this.

I always wondered who he was on the show, because even watching Jorge’s documentary the name didn’t ring a bell at all. Thank you for answering that question for me

I was more into Disney afternoon, such as Ducktales, Darkwing duck and Gargoyles etc.

Ok
It made me hate him for years and it still doesn’t sit right
I looked it up, she sent some before that to Dr@ke B3ll. He probably leaked it
I think those pictures (at least some of them) were taken when she was as young as 14.

Edit: Omg I remember Zoog I feel so damn old
This has got to be a deep dive for people your age, I was born in 99’ and you’ve got me feeling old asf. loved pixel perfect but only watched it as reruns tho
When he said "you guys probably never watch Zenon" my jaw dropped, I was born in '99 and I vividly remember all 3 movies
Close Encounters was a mistake I’d assume. The guy who made the iceberg was likely referring to Alien Encounter, not to be confused with the ride.
It was a documentary played totally straight about the possibility of alien life that aired back in 1995. It never aired again
While on that note can we just say how TERRIBLE that ride was. It still sticks with me twenty or so years later.
Half of this video is a zoomer pointing out how old everything is.
Right? It's kind of annoying. Half of it isn't even actually THAT old lmao.
@@Gengarbread your old bro get over it
@@cooladam9930 dismissive comment aside, coming from a younger person, it isn't about feeling old, just that very young people have a tendency to say things are super old when it came out like 2-3 years ago lol. makes sense because their life experience is so limited at, like, 16, but still. with perspective, it can come off obnoxious or ridiculous. as he said, the audience for this type of thing is varied in all ages so it can also be alienating.
also, if you're going to make an explanatory iceberg video, it's assumed you'll go partially in depth about each thing. some of the coverage was assumptions and he didn't' really seem to do much of his own research. saying something's too old or unpopular for relevance doesn't work when you're doing this type of video.

@@lonegalaxy9158 shut up do you have anything better to do than watch children shows
@@waffle7358 haven't watched tv in years lmao, calm down
@@waffle7358 No it entirely depends on the character itself.
"1991?! MAN! These are so old!"
Ow, my heart
Man, as someone born in 1990, I feel like a dinosaur lol

Good news! There is one now!
I used to love Jessie and Good Luck Charlie lol
I remember seeing the gluten episode of Jessie.
