Off camera he'd agree to that himself - woh khud nahi rehna chahega. I see him do a much better job developing/mentoring young players where it's not a do or die scenario and players can play the game for what it is. At national level it's about success and winning and instilling a fighting spirit and not just about having an opportunity, of course you want to make sure the players aren't feeling too pressured because could lead to them choking. But our generation is naturally competitive so using that to fuel success and wins is not such a bad idea.

@@user-pv5ib1lq8z those who are in playing 11 are already fighters. That's why they are in national 11. Now coming on to why Dravid is mandatory, because these players require proper atmosphere within the team (which was missing in shashtri's era. Team was divided into two camps). Team want clear communication and transprency which was not there. Team wanted proper roadmap and he created proper middle order. Team wanted backup of every player ( for injury management). When Dravid got the full fledged team, then look how team performed in last 3,4 months including the worldcup

@@Sheetanshu_Saurabh I agree, what I meant was, for the kind of cricket we demand (aggressive and fearless) I wonder if his soft or defensive approach of letting the game just be a game works? And does it align with the captain's approach/vision. Of course, I don't have real knowledge on what goes on behind the scenes but it seems as though Rohit is trying to send a different message to the team (and he's doing a superb job by leading by example btw). That's not to say that Rahul Dravid can't be a good coach in other areas - you've made made some valid points on that. I guess, what I'm hinting at is the decisions made prior to the last few months with regards to team selection, changes and style of play. Maybe the captain and coach have discussed these things and figured out their roles (with Rohit taking the lead as a captain should) and how to make it work...

@@Sheetanshu_Saurabh wow how beautifuly u articulate the importance of Dravid as coach he literally made backup of each and every player. He solve the issue of middle order, he provided enough rest to players so that they can freshly play WC and Asia Cup he gave enough chances to each and every new player who is included in a team to prove their skills and after applying all the combination he picked his best 15 keeping in mind that anyone can be injured. If this team is becoming successful even after injury of Hardik it is becoz Dravid has given lot of his energy and strategic thinking over this WC
Some narrow minded PPL think for normal matches normal bilateral series he was thinking for WC keeping the image of all if and but
In previous WC leading by Shastri he has no idea whom he goona pick in case if anyone got injured he doesn't has opener when Shikher injured no replacement for hardik. Kra kya h Shastri n drinking r badhi badhi baaton k alawa koi preparation nhi agr immediately IPL k baad team WC play kre how he going to handle their pressure moreover he always praise few players and left out others. PPL literally started feeling left out. Now u can see team environment each and every player know his role they have security n enjoying eo company
PPL who r not good in their job r saying Rahul Dravid a bad coach is the biggest joke
