A beautiful car and already a classic...loved mine but couldn't keep it as needed something more practical but 40mpg and 200bhp .Mindblowing Torque ..overtaking and accelerating in 6th gear...Awesome cars. The engine is amazing!!!
The Brera is such a beautiful car...would love to own one. I would pamper it. Still, use it as a daily driver though. Just give it a good anti-rust treatment, then keep it in regular maintenance.
@@stevensegaloetdemelderse5059 I'm not a fan of the jts engines so not a car is say for short journeys as diesels will cause problems. Tbi engines are rare in the UK
I have a late 2009 2.2 JTS Brera. My passenger side window does not work. I was told by a Gloucester Alfa specialist that it was the window control module but he can't get one second hand that is. Do you know how I can get one or can you fix it if I came to your place?
Please please please help... my power steering pump serpentine belt has come off and left me off the road on my Brera 2.4 jtdm. I can't find the belt pulley and tensioner sequence anywhere online and have been let down by a couple of online manual sales companies. So I'm desperate to find the right right reading for the belt full stop can you or anyone please help me by describing or preferably showing me an illustration of the correct belt configuration thank you very much I be so grateful Tim c
Got one of these with 70k on an 06 plate and have to say its a mixture of brilliant and dreadful.... The styling while subjective i feel is stunning and quite unique and the almost germanic build quality is next level from 147/156/166 cars... But sadly its horrid to drive..... , worst steering ive ever come across from its inaccuracy, tendency to follow cambers, torque steer excessively and wobbling about like its some loose 50's drop top. Then theres the dreadful secondary ride and shockingly poor body control typical of many italian cars of the 90s and 00s. Its heavy and worse still very front heavy at that and the effect this has on the car along with poor steering and poor ride and body control is nothing less than a travesty... The styling is writing cheques the drive cant cash which is often the case with Alfas of the 90s and 00s but with the 2.4 Brera it was too much to forgive and i say this as a fully fledged twice GTV6 owning alfisti.
@@Cyba_IT i drove a 3.2 q4 before buying the diesel. Both cars have their flaws. I felt the 3.2 V6 was abit nicer to drive having zero torque steer (unlike the 2.4 diesel) thanks to the 4wd but then it has alot less torque and is overall not much quicker (if anything slower in real world 2k to 3k rpm engine speeds. So yes the 3.2 needs thrashing to get going, it obviously sounds alot nicer than the clattery 5pot diesel but the older 147/156 GTA drive better still, are quite abit faster and sound better too. Another problem is the fuel economy of the 3.2 doesnt justify the performance. Its important to try them both and decide, make sure they are good condition and see if you can justify the V6 running costs. For me the main appeal is still the styling and Alfa badge not the driving experience which has potential but isnt great as standard. Still i reckon a Brera Q4 v6 with an Autodelta supercharger with some complaint suspension mods would be really nice and my personal choice.!!
@@tomwebb7091 Awesome, Thanks Tom. I have a van as my daily work wagon so the 3.2 economy isn't too much of an issue but I'm not made of money! I'll look into the GTA's. Cheers mate
@@Cyba_IT Youre welcome... naturally make sure you try them out. In defense of the Brera (which i was possibly abit too harsh on reading back) its still a fine daily drive just no sportscar as standard even though the ingredients are there such as the quick steering rack and double wishbones. One thing with Alfas is mods make a real difference as the suspension is often that bad to start with and the money spent on them is going to be profound compared to modding cars that are nr perfect from factory. Another point is the Brera are notably better built than 147/156 imo... big reason they are such heffers lol. Its definately a case of trying them and being honest with yourself about what you want from one as all cars not just Alfas have compromises. Enjoy the hunt 👍
@Ian Lee i know lol i bought as a daily commuter. The torque steer is as expected with 300lbs through front wheels. What sucks is the steering feel or lack of. A boggo Focus 1.8 from the same era isnt a sports car but has steering, ride and handling a 2.4 Brera can only dream of lol. Sorry i love alot of things about my Brera but the drive is pretty poor. Thanks for youre advice though.
I love my GT but the Brera is my dream car. Great video can’t wait to see more.
thanks. gonna be a few weeks till the next brera video.it will be belts and swirl flaps.
And i am proud owner of a brera
This Summer i will, get more sound of my 5 Zylinder!!!!!
Drive one first i beg you... youre GT drives ALOT better. Style... Oh yes.... Substance.... zero.

Hello my fellow Alfa lovers, hope you’re having a great day :)
Nice video, great spec with the tan leather!
You got me with the music. I thought the engine was ticking, but it was part of the beat.
haha.
Gorgeous motor! Loving the Zoe Yellow 145 you’ve got in there too. I need another 145 Cloverleaf in my life!!!
Just signed up. 156 owner for 17 years looking for a suitable Brera. Like the restoration.
I have brera as well with this same engine. Love this car.
They have grown on me lately. Love this colour combo shame I can't keep it once its finished.
@@ItaliaAutos only 2500 breras left on UK roads . I'm my town is only one . My one 😄
well that engine is cycling with music while u taking care of the hood, now u know the timing on the belts is spot on haha
Good job
You are very brave to change the front bonnet alone. I would be scared to crack the windscreen and ask somebody for help.
It did nearly fall on my head lol. Work on my own so 8ve got used to it. 👍
Definitely gonna subscribe to your channel
Nice Job! ! Have a 147 now but next car this one well done.

Thanks for watching.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ brera
Now i noticed it has Swiss road tax from 2015year i think it was driven to Alps passes for fun :)
Stanimir Iliev well spotted.
Would a car like that have a Category marking on the logbook, to show it’s been in an accident?
It's a cat N non structural damage.
Isn't that a 159 bumper that's been put on?
yes it is.
So they can share bumper and fenders right?
Yes but bumper isn't the same but it fits.
Nice video and project. What was the price of the brand new oil cooler?
An out £180 all in for genuine Alfa part.

Common problem and a hard part to get used. Never tried to fix one I'm afraid. No other Alfa switches fit either.

I'm looking at getting a Brera . Which engine would you suggest is best?
2.4. reliable engine with a strong gearbox.
private entry leave them well alone quad exhausts still sounds like a desail
That is the 159 front
Bumper yes
Brera videos I just click and drool
Do u break Alfa 159s q-tronics?
Not had one in a long time
the front bumper is from 159
yes correct.
i have the brera 3.2 v6 AWD and i thinking to put in this car a 1.8tbi engine . Can i this or is bad idea?
to much work. will need far to much to be changed.
