I love how you try out everything...I think all us adults want to but think we are to old to do so..love the kid in you...
I basically do that every chance I get and get mad at myself when I don't or don't take advantage of an opportunity to do so. This coming from someone who still goes Trick or Treating in their 20s. The key is don't be afraid to do something because it goes against the so called norm.
It looked indeed like a wellkept and neat park. And nice to see that there are oldfashioned parks thriving. I kind of prefer these videos sometimes to the ones from the large parks like Disney or Universal Studios. They kind of get a bit overwhelming, loud and extremly fast paced. *humms "follow the yellow bricked road"*
Baggerism of the day: " Santa's House is a breastfeeding station... so, I guess.. we are not going in there... "

The Land of Oz was the best part. I love what they did with it. Especially the trees talking to u in the Haunted Forrest, Wicked witch talking, & then Dorothy's Tornado house... Pretty Cool, thanks Jacob.
That Old MacDonald is about the lowest-rent animatronic I have ever seen. Great video, Jacob! Loving these reasons to visit the Empty States
It would be cool of they made the inside of Dorothy's house all black and white.
Yesssss
Been here many times...brings back many lovely memories! Happy you got to see this place 🏰📚🌈🌞
This looks like a nice theme park. I'm glad it's doing well. Thanks for bringing us along Jacob.
The school and Santa's house use to be small gift shops, when Storybook Land first open and a few years later.Everytime I am in Aberdeen I will visited Storybook land. My family loves it.
Jacob ,you sliding down the tin man slide 😂🤣made my day. I feel the pain, lol.
Thank you so much im a big fan u are living out my dream. I grow up my grandmother .moved to Canada. Near a park called chrystal beach it closed 30 years ago. When my grandfather died my grandmother worked the park .so she can have free bingo. My whole childhood was going to the park for free. It was the most wonderful time of my life. So im glad you give me a glimpse of that
You did such a great job. I love how Dorothy's house was so active. Thank you for filming your trip for us.
Joan Cameron.
Sacramento California
Dam so many places on my bucket list to visit. I love everything wizard of oz related!
I really enjoyed this - a bit of fairy tales and a touch of Aesop's as well, thank you!
That vlog was soo much fun Jacob 😂, love listening to you, and what a fantastic place, hope your intestines are okay 😂😂😂, Thankyou x
Yes it was fun coming back later with 3rd grader.
Ok, that tin man slide is pretty awesome..
And the scarecrow house part since it was recoreded twice. 😂
And oh, the apple trees part is simply magical and scary.
Curious Cornucopia it wasn’t
I think I just geeked out this was brilliant! Thanks Jacob!
9:35 Fun Fact: That house was originally straight sheet metal and highly reflective. On sunny days it would blind people and reflect the heat toward visitors like a death ray.
When you hurt yourself on the slide, that same thing happened to me a few times over the summer.
First thing I did was look up the meaning of that nursery rhyme and was actually pretty shocked that it was about Mary Bathory. Makes perfect sense. Just never tied the two together.
Maybe it’s just me but when I was a little kid (back in 2005) the enchanted Forrest where the trees talk in the wizard of Oz land SCARED THE CRAP out of me… I still think about it sometimes and I’m 26 years old now 😂😂
Growing up I loved the wicked witch. I dressed up like a witch every year. I still do.
I used to go there all the time as a kid. I loved it there. Was there a couple months ago. A lot had changed!
If I had children I would take them to this place. Fun place to spend the day.
Jack and Tick Tok were actually in the “Return to Oz” movie, which was much darker than the classic original.
I was a huge fan of Return to Oz because it was based off two of Frank Oz books "Land of Oz" and "Ozma of Oz" They really followed Frank Oz perspectives opposed to the Wizard of Oz movie. I enjoyed the 80's movies similar to that dark style--- Labyrinth, Neverending Story, and Dark Crystal. They all utilized puppetry rather than CGI what we're use to now. Thanks for pointing out these two significant characters.
I grew up with that movie. It haunted me and I still love it. But it is not really a KIDS movie lol (even thought it was marketed to it.) it’s in the same vibe as Neverending story. It was great, but dark.
@@CreativeCreatorCreates That movie traumatized me as a kid. Its so dark. I BELIEVE YOU WILL NOT!
Your commentary makes even the most boring places fun! Great video!👍
I love ur spirit...I laughed so hard when u went down that slide 😂😂😂
9:45 as a resident of this area, i can say that the axe is ALWAYS stolen 🤣
Not my favourite Land of Oz in North Carolina, but still looks like a nice bit of old school fun!
I'm going to piggyback on this comment and ask Jacob if he's been to the Land Of Oz in NC? I understand that they open it up a couple of times a year for tours.
David Baer I think he’s got a few videos from there :)
Long live the oz run!
Does anyone else think the owl statue from Bambi actually looks more like the villain owl from Rock a Doodle?! Lol 3:31
Uncle dukey!
I love the story book and Oz park, Jacob. Wish I could go and visit.
Very cute park...I would have loved as a kid. Thanks for sticking it out in Dorothy's house. That tornado 🌪️ would have given me a panic attack 😂
I thought you were in Oliver springs TN, face palm. . This is adorable place might have to visit with my 8 year old in few years.
My favorite movie of all time !!!
Love these old school parks. Thumbs up!
Who else now has Follow Yellow Brick Song stuck there brain? I'm not mad either kind of need it.
With the help of GOOGLE the owls name is Bambi is Friend.
Love seeing Return to Oz references! Anyone else a fan?! Such a fun time for movies-- Labyrinth Neverending Story and Dark Crystal
Just a little historical fact.. did you know RTO was based off two of Frank's books? Land of Oz and Ozma of Oz. The Gump was my favorite character. 3:30
I'm a huge fan of Return to Oz! I love the other films you mentioned as well; staples of my childhood film collection. Have you seen Willow? Another fantasy classic of the time.
I really like The Gump. My favourite is Tik-Tok. When he cries I do too!
Great video Jacob, one of the best you’ve done as I love anything Wizard of Oz, that park looks great fun, can’t wait to visit America in the near future that place is on my bucket list now. Thank you for sharing.
Well, that place is officially fantastic! I remember going the place in Lake George when I was a kid and this brings back a ton of memories.
Very nice, thanks for sharing.
Yes!
We went two weeks ago. It was fun. But now I see there are somethings we didn't see or do. So definitely gonna go again.
went here all the time! have so many photos here im so glad someone posted about it!
The story I heard about the lion and the mouse was. The mouse took a thorn out of his paw. Love all of the videos 🐴😻🐴😻
I remember Dorothy's house being a small gift shop when I was a kid
Hi Jacob awesome vlog at the storybook land. Very cute place 👍🏻🐻
Good one Jacob 😎
Watching jacob ride the roller coasters from his view cracks me up every time.....🤣🤣😂
My youngest would love this
I really enjoy your videos! This was quite comical on several instances. Had a good belly laugh. Thank you sir!
Enjoyed this video ! Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work.😊
I really enjoy watching your videos thank you .
OUTSTANDING! Thanks for sharing.
Love it, going on my road trip list.
Those OZ sculptures were spot on. The rides didn't look like much, though.
You have the greatest job ever!
THIS MAKES ME SO EXCITED IM GOING SOON
Oh my gosh I was so confused for a min.. I thought you were at the Land of Ozz in North Carolina, I just realized you are in S Dakota. .. Land of Ozz in NC is only open for like a week a year.. COMING UP SOON, spet 13 and 14th, It would be so cool to see a vlog of you there!!
Been there when it open back in the day. Went through Dorothy's house in the beginning it was all nice and neat the after seeing a movie similar to the house scene in the tornado. After that went back through the house and everything was neatly turned over, tables lamps etc... I was scared to death being there.
Yay! You finally went! We go there all the time! Such a neat fun place!
Did I just watch this a year later? Yes.
Am I attempting not to sing ’Follow The Yellow Brick Road’? Yes
All jokes aside, this place looks interesting! I would probably just go immediately to Oz, but that’s me lol
I would’ve grabbed whatever friends I brought and skipped down the Yellow Brick Road mindlessly singing ’we’re off to see the Wizard-’
I recognized Tik-Tok, Jack Pumpkinhead, the Sawhorse, and I think that might’ve been Tip/Ozma, but I couldn’t be sure. Wonderful video!
Pretty park, glad to hear they keep adding to it. Nice video!
Thank you .I enjoyed watching.
This is interesting that you posted this, I just posted a video on Emil Kranzler’s grave that I found in Arizona. He was a Munchkin from “The Wizard Of Oz”. His plaque refers to “The Wizard Of Oz”, what is written on it is quite cool. Anyway, I enjoy your videos Jacob.
🌈👠👠👧🐶🌽🤖🦁💚 love anything Wizard of Oz theme parks like this too 😍
1:17 Thank you for mentioning my great grandpa.
I am 99 percent sure "William Grogan" is actually the conductor from the Polar Express.
I just have to ride the carousel everytime I see one!
This was awesome!
Throughout this my first response was “Somebody call Mr. freaky! We have some creepypasta material here!”
That was very cool especially for young children. Im surprised in this day and age they havent been copy written sued over some of the characters as that seems to be the popular thing to do. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
Love your roller coaster rides!! Too funny!
You've had such a great idea. And do so well at "what you do". Idk. I just enjoy the channell and imagining all the awesome road trips.
Cool vlog :)
Are you heading to Wall Drug? I've been two steps behind you since the Wisconsin Dells, LOVING your videos, and will be in Wall in a couple of days. I'd love to fortuitously bump into you at Wall Drug; I'd happily buy your lunch.
Idk why but this park creeps me out lol great video though.
Que pasa Jacob! How nice of you. Of you going here n post it today on my first day of my new job. Take care.
that was fun thanks
Fun fact,There's a button next to the beanstalk that, when pushed, plays an audio recording of the giant. Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell the blood of an Englishman
Nice one Jacob!
Love your humor 😆 💕
Cute park!
"Oh Santa's house is a breastfeeding station so were not gonna go in there"
Hihi scarecrow editing fail?
Nice house but empty so.......take two 😂😂😂 like you’re videos❤️
Now I gotta google the meaning to Mary Mary quite contrary lol.
Be interesting for someone make a movie over there
The grown-up on this Park from my entire life
Jacob, curds and whey is cottage cheese. Not nasty at all, unless of course you don't like cottage cheese. :-P
This makes me want to watch "the Wiz" and "return to oz". I looooove those movies.
From what my family has told me the houses just to have things in them
Also In Recent news the dolphin is down so it dosn’t work and the candy park is being Redone for accessibility and as of today I believe one of not all of the munchkins are missing idk where they went but they did
The light always beats the darkness,, :)
Glad Magic Forest got a shout out. NY in the house.
I was there the day before!!!!!
Great video! I love this attraction. I love anything Oz related. That movie was awesome. The books are good too. I've watched Return to Oz and it is nothing like the MGM movie. It is more dark. For example, Dorothy ends up in a psychiatric hospital because Auntie Em and Uncle Henry don't believe her when she says she's been to Oz. The doctor tries to use electric shock therapy on her and a thunderstorm makes the electricity go out and that's how she ends up in Oz. Much darker than the MGM film. But just as good and enjoyable. It's a cult classic. More like the books too. The MGM film took some creative liberties with the movie. Still, a great movie. A weird fact about the movie is that rumors abounded in some circles that in the scene where Dorothy, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Man were walking off there was a munchkin that committed suicide. Turns out it was just a bird from the Los Angeles Zoo. Still, that is quite disturbing. In the older version, it looks like a body was hanging from a tree in the background, but in newer versions you can see that it was an animal on loan from the Los Angeles Zoo. It's weird how people have conspiracy theories about that. About anything really. Why can't life just be? Why do we have to have conspiracy theories like that. Ok, I'm ranting lol. Thanks for sharing, and have a great day!
10:50 tell them Large Marge sent you!!!
9:30 Deja vu scarecrow
In Rapid city South Dakota there is another park named story book island that is similar
to bad that one up in the hills of tenn/nc border where they had the land of oz show in the 70s when i was a kid
We have that same dolphin fountain in Napa at Fuller Park. It's just a statue but it's there!
that was interesting
