Oh man. So much to unpack and learn here. I will definitely be posting a follow up video next week! I need time to figure out how to use this thing. It's beautiful! I connected my plugable USB C Internet Adapter and with a Wired connection, my games were downloading so much faster. My Wifi is fast, but it's not as fast as wired.

You know what's the difference between your unboxing and other. Others try to do it professional and serious and yours is spontanious and honest. I can really feel the joy you felt when you opened the box and held the steam deck in your hand the first time.

I just sold my 256gb LCD Deck for the 1tb LE. Decided to go all out for the translucent colorway. I’m so excited for it to get here. I was surprised it’s still available cause I ordered it on the 26th.
Also I love your enthusiasm dude. Nothing like getting a new piece of tech and treating it like unboxing an N64 on Christmas Day. Hell yeah.

I will be buying the OLED 1TB model soon. It will be my 1st ever PC handheld. I’m normally a console-only gamer but the Steam Deck has always been on the back of my mind. Just seems cool and now you have all these other competitors it kind of made me slow down on wanting one. Been watching all types of video unboxings, reviews and comparisons on them too 😅

So great to see how excited you are about this ! :P .... On the power-charging aspect, not sure if you care, but I went to bed last night after completing the "Desk Job" intro-game and SteamDeck was at 53% battery. I have an Apple 34watt dual-port USB-C charger next to my bed, so I plugged it in and it seemed to work fine. Charging LED was a mix of orange and yellow at first but as it got over 90% it turned green. Course that's a wall charger and not a brick, so maybe not so interesting that it worked,. but I thought it was a fun test.

Buddy that was exactly my motivation to take the plunge and place my order. The Switch was definitely my gateway drug into handheld PC’S -particularly playing all the way thru Dark Souls Remastered on the couch next to my wife while she watched informative murder porn. I got an order in for LE OLED on 25 Nov and today it’s showing as “packaged” and awaiting shipping (while the shop is sold out -it feels like I nabbed a piece of history!) It’s been a fun year to be a gamer and I empathize with your enthusiasm.

My wife is asleep, but I’m on the couch playing forza 5 campaign on my deck. I’m gonna have more excuses to sink more time into gaming now. Love it!!

@@Prince_Charmless race ya! No actually you will get yours first. Mine must be forwarded from Delaware to an APO, as I’m on assignment abroad with the Army, so I’m still a few weeks out. But i believe this will be worth the wait.

you can use the big boxes under the joysticks for the curser, right one for moving the curser and clicking, left one for scrolling. I saw you did not use them in the video and they are awesome.

Got my LCD Steam Deck today (secondhand bc Valve doesn't ship to me :')) and I had right around the same reactions as you did! It was my first time holding a Deck and it was pretty beefy and comfortable! Already put in a couple of games, now I can't wait to get to all of them. Have fun with your OLED! It looks really cool!

14:50 the steam deck os is actually an immutable system which means that most changes you do to it get erased after an update

@@VolkFolk11 Gonna be honest with you. I just checked it earlier today and, yes, they were still in stock earlier. They must've finally sold out since then. So the two above were actually correct at the time.
Right after I said they weren’t that limited… they sold out. lol. Now people are gonna resell them for soooo much more.

Congratulations. I just put a 2tb wd sn770m in mine. Faster speeds and twice the storage.
Proton and Linux already supports EAC and most other anti cheats, it’s just up to developers to implement the linux/proton EAC versions.
Also, don’t let the “unsupported” tag prevent you from at least trying to play the game, Proton is extremely good and I personally have yet to encounter a single player game I cannot play on Linux.
@@moke7658they should really add a tag that says that they haven't tested a game instead of just saying unsupported
Im getting really annoyed watching these unboxing videos and I still dont have mine. It has said out for delivery for the last three days and every day in the afternoon it says delayed and that it will be delivered tomorrow. But not giving me a reason why it keeps getting delayed.

When you are in desktop mode there is a shortcut on your desktop that returns you to game mode on your Steam Deck.

Can you confirm whether the orange paint comes off the screws when using a torx screwdriver?
Not trying that. I’ve heard it does and people recommend putting a glove over your screw bit to not scratch it.

I thought the same thing and instantly tried to cancel but it was too late. Already processed and they said my only choice was to reject the package. But after playing forza, gta, and other games… I’m loving this thing

Btw as one of some reported issue about steam deck oled, some are experiencing weird noises from headphones when it is used through 3.5 jack. Have you gotten any issue with it?
@@t4ngl178 I had this problem on my laptop and fixed it using an usb c to 3.5 apple headphone jack.
