    That snake is called Ouroboros a gnostic and alchemical symbol that expresses the unity of all things, material and spiritual, which never disappear but perpetually change form in an eternal cycle of destruction and re-creation.

    Hi beautiful friend
    I’ve missed u- I can seriously relate to the clutter in office/craft room; it’s a never ending process but it’s always enjoyable. We understand 💯 percent!!!

    I have several of Remy’s Onion Skin Journals and I love them! You can do so much and the crinkle is everything! I have been a hardcore Tomoe River paper junkie and the onion skin crinkle is next level! I definitely only do one side of the paper. I have a hard cover that I journal in and a soft cover I art journal in.

    Go over the snake with a dark pen... so many things could be drawn from a circle... a simple flower could be cute!...fun!..

    The cat apartment your friend drew for you is precious!!!! While in Texas last year, my mom and I went through a lot of her old stuff and we found 2 boxes of onion skin typing paper she used in high school in the 1960s! So we split each box so that I got half of both. I usually make my own inserts but also I make handmade junk journals with lots of paper variety. I love using onion skin and tracing paper as a fun addition to those. When I come upon a translucent or transparent page in my own inserts, I usually end up collaging on the back instead of writing. I think recently I also just painted the back with flat acrylic craft paint so that I could write on it.

      So, what's the difference between onion skin and tracing paper? I understand that they are both translucent and wood pulp. Could you expound on the differences a bit, please? Thank you.

      @@stephanie_smith I actually don't quite know. Onion skin is really thin, but it has a nice feel in the hand. Tracing paper is a little more opaque in my opinion. But I'm not sure of the actual technical differences in them. And then there's old school typing paper as well, which is really thin, but a bit more opaque I think.

    You are always so inspiring and any mark you put on the page is just beautiful. Thank you. About the cat (I have two) my advice is to give them a larger litter box. The larger and fuller with sand: the better. They scratch the outside sometimes because they feel that there isn’t enough space in it and don’t want to soil their paws.

    I am so happy you're putting out video content again! ❤️ I signed up for your class. So excited! I bought me a few journals and am looking for inspiration. Like I said in my class comment, I'm turning 60 this year and have a lot to write about 😜

      Thank you so much for supporting me by purchasing a class! I hope you enjoy it! I'll try to make some time the end of the week to go over and read comments. Once the class is 3 months old, usually I'm not as active on there so it's good to know that I should pay a visit again. I'm so excited for you and your scribe journey! 💛

    I love crinkle!! your last video inspired me to go to the back of my shelves and pull out all of my chic sparrows that I haven't used in the last 3 years! I switched to plum paper planner and making my own water color journal books. But I miss the TN insert journaling so much! I ordered 4 inserts from paper penguin and can't wait to water color bloop it up and start writing in them again

    I have thought about trying onion skin paper,but the emblem freaks me out.I am TERRIFIED of snakes,so I would either have to ask them to cover it,or make me a blank cover...lol

    Yes, our 2 cats like to dig a hole to China in the litter box too. We lined the wall around the box with old political campaign coriplast signs to protect from overspray.

    I'm so glad your back. I love your videos. I'm with you on the emblem. I don't want to say satanic, but more sorcery. I want to know what it stands for?
    Beautiful art though, great video. I have never purchased one.
    If you haven't yet, check out the you tubechannel Overall Adventures. I follow her, her name is Tina, she is a journaler too.
    She tried an onion skin journal and only used the front pages of it to journal, she didn't write on the back.

      It does have meanings I don't care for either. I googled it. Too many to remember and is connected to many religions.

      The symbol in Greek culture represents eternity it's not satanic at all these comments make me laugh

    I would say (because that circle snake bothers me too) I would definitely paint over it. I looked up the meaning of it and now it really bothers me. That's Holy Spirit prompting you to paint over it. God bless y'all 🌺🙏

      The ouroboros symbolizes eternity and the cycle of life, death and rebirth. It is millennias older than Christianity and there’s nothing evil about it. Would be great if y’all stopped demonizing cultures that don’t belong to you.

      @Wild Nature Thank you for watching! While I'm not trying to start any wars over my preference of this symbol, I can say that before I knew anything about the symbol something did not feel right about it in my gut. Like I said, 'heebie jeebies' ... That to say, you're welcome to put it all over your things. I just don't like it and will most likely cover it up. Have an amazing day! 💛

    • @AliBrownie
      @AliBrownie  2 роки тому +1

      @Grey Wolf I am not afraid of snakes. My son has a snake and I feed it often. I feel it is a bit insensitive for you to tell me that I should research a symbol before allowing myself to be creeped out by it as I was not able to control my feelings at all when I saw the symbol. I didn't even know it was going to be on there. I ordered the notebook last year and forgot about it. I'm wondering why you are so concerned about my feelings regarding this symbol? Like I said, you're welcome to love it and plaster it on everything you own. I do not like it. It creeps me out. Before knowing what it was and after. How does that affect you personally? Can we not just be ok with our own unique feelings about this symbol?

    Can I ask you a personal and probably intrusive question (but not because I'm nosy, because I am a counselor 😊) and please don't be offended or if you don't want to answer that's ok! Do you have ADD/ADHD? Have you ever been tested? I ask because I do, Inattentive ADD and I've noticed SO many traits that you have (rabbit trails) and other things that I also have and you would die laughing at my craft/art room. I did a deep dive into my diagnosis after I got it and man, so many things made sense. Just curious 😁

    • @AliBrownie
      @AliBrownie  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Jessica! So, I perhaps would have been offended before a week ago at this question...but a counselor that I'm seeing wants to asses me for ADHD. I have felt deep down that I have it. My sister has been diagnosed. I never have, but display all the signs. My mind feels like a fast spinning, MERRY-go-round with ideas and tasks and projects...but I lack the motivation to complete them because I'm overwhelmed with daily life. So, the answer is. I think I do? But I'm getting assessed at my next session. I want to be able to learn from this and get the tools I need to not feel so overwhelmed. Thanks for being gentle in asking and if you have any advice, I am all ears...for like 5 minutes and then I may be thinking about something else. bahahaha! Just kidding. But maybe. 😳🤣😘

      @@AliBrownie Lol!! I get it! I was diagnosed almost a year ago and it has honestly been the best thing because of the fact that so many things make sense and now I don't have to be so hard on myself when I have things I don't get done or procrastinate about. I'll tag you over on IG to some pages I follow that have AWESOME tips and a plethora of information. My biggest tip/advice which you may already be doing, but lists lists lists!! And mini routines to keep you on track. Those things have helped me a lot. Routine is probably the most important thing for our brains 😊 Thank you for not being offended 🤗
