This is the original edit. Some people are using this clip as if they edited it and renaming the clip: David Bowie is the consumate gentleman when it comes to interviews and a true professional on the stage. But even he can get fed up sometimes... here's a few clips showing him doing just that and where the interviewers get owned by the master. Bowie is renown for being a little difficult but when you see why he's answering the way he is, you'll understand why. Many interviewers would ask silly & personal questions especially in the 70's & he's just not the sort of guy to put up with it. When an interview is fun he's incredibly charming and witty. I just wanted to show he's human and show how tiresome some interviews are. And as has been pointed out; these clips are the only ones I could find out of the thousands of hours and 40 years of Bowieness, where he's a little fed up. Not bad going Mr Bowie. (The concert footage was due to many factors; voice, band problems, technical problems, g/f problems.)
Bodacea1 Yes exactly. The interviewer Russell Harty was a complete prat constantly trying to belittle Bowie every chance he got. The end clip was when the sound equipment wasn't working and the crowd was booing and he didn't even want to perform there to start with (or something like that). I've never seen a single clip of him actually angry about anything. Even so, he was only human after all. A very composed one at that.
I was eating at a table near him in '82 (working as an extra). He was about to start his breakfast. 2 little ladies wanted a photo "Could you turn around Mr. Bowie?" "Could you cross your legs and pose like this..." He just quietly said under his breath "I'm not a doll ladies!" I just cracked up laughing! Awesome guy.
These idiots asking him personal things about his sexuality - even going as far to question how well he gets on with his mother! Honestly he dealt with them very calmly and elegantly, this only increases my respect of him.
Asking sexuality isn't really why he got upset, it was because he responded to her question and she asked him a couple more times even though he had already responded. She was being wayyyy persistent.

Honest man. Every time he felt the interviewer was trying to lick his boots he simply put him down. He was "no hero", he said it, he meant it. He HAD BEEN like those teenagers who wished they'd appear in a movie, he said it, he was proud of it! He was proud of truth. He disliked 'bullshit' or people trying to manipulate your persona and put a label on you. Bowie never got annoyed- he taught. Out of all “Stars” i’ve never seen one as him, who never lost his cool. He was the encumbrance of perfection in every way. Still miss him beyond...♥️
He was able to combine his classic British gentleman nature with his uncomparable artistic brilliance - That made his unique charisma so adorable. He was a True gentleman Even when he disagreed with sth

But then on the other side these stars with no brains do so many stupid things! but at the same time these things make more money and again make them more manageable on the artistic side of things.
+friendlier So true, ya know I've seen many of them outside their element of loaded questions & now I know why they have loaded questions lol. Some can't even spell the lyrics they sing.
I truly miss David Bowie so much! I saw him 8 times in concert and he was phenomenal to say the least! In 87, The Glass Spider Tour, my bf purchased tickets at the last minute and the only seats he could get were the ones behind the stage in Madison Square Garden. It didn't matter to me because I was there for another concert and they had him up on the screen which was fine. Anyway he had walked to the back of the stage, looked up and I waived at him and to my surprise he waived back. I was thrilled. I started liking him at the age of 12 because I could see such a different , unique and talented individual. I've always loved him then and of course now, and I'm 56, and will forever! Always wanted to meet him in person and that didn't happen so hopefully someday I will on the other side!
@@juliact - Actually his name was Russel Hardy, I suspect it was just a case of auto correct when the OP said it was Harry. But yes, I agree Russel Hardy was obnoxious in this.
You can see why Grace Jones clobbered Russell Harty over the head on live TV back in the day. He asked some of the most ridiculously personal questions with that aloof and arrogant air like he was interrogating a petulant child and about to take away their sweets if they didn’t respond soon enough. David handled Harty with signature style, and intelligence.
when the women asked if bowie if he was bi when he had already said he was so stupid seriously if youd do your research youd know he’s already said that in a different interview smh
Yeah wtf was that, people want to know too much about his sex life and its idiotic. Hes answered the question + just cuz hes a star doesnt mean he cant have privacy!
even though he got annoyed by some of those questions, he never walked out - I would have. Interviewers were always trying to make him fit in this nice little box so they could sum him up in 3 words. He was so much more complex than that. That man interviewing him in front of a television set is the absolute worst. You want to punch him
How is this angry ? I wish I was as calm as him when angry they littraly asked him if he even cared about his mother, asked if he was really was bisexual, insulted his hair, and just picked on him for being himself, and stupid nosey qestions still he was pleasant and the worst they got was him saying a sarcastic anser or just saying he wouldnt anser it or asking them the same qestion back like how is that angry
I can understand getting annoyed at some of the awful and quite rude questions asked and I think Bowie would have been in the right to have really gone off on these people but he was amazingly reserved and sometimes responded with humour, so good on him!
And David Bowie had such a class he was dealing with it very professional ..other people would have been exploded even if this is not a good solution..
They are not making any more David Bowies are they. He was totally self made like so many of these renaissance people back then they seemed really super knowledgeable more so than anyone today

They were rude/ stupid questions and Bowie was measured in his responses. In the clip with Jools Holland, Bowie had just been insulted back stage by Liam Gallagher. He wasn't annoyed with Holland, just the stupidity of the Gallagher he encountered moments before.

David Bowie never became outdated, and he never will.
Ahh god damn it David, you were a fucking diamond.
1:31 David wasn't annoyed he just tore up the interviewers notes as a laugh to wind him up as they were good friends anyway.
i can totally understand why he acted like this and to be honest he stayed very calm... others would throw chairs or whatever haha
i love your profile pic
He didn't tolerate bullshit and he was right not to. Legend RIP.
Can't stop watching 1:27 😂 "Don't you dare rip it any more" 🤣🤣🤣
Bowie is the only one with a brain...modern day pop stars should take note.
Christian Freud There were many, many pop stars with brains then. Hardly any now, it would seem.
+friendlier thats what they want!,stars with no brains as they can be molded and manipulated very easily makes them more manageable usually i would think well i more manageable in the artistic side of things.
+Christian Freud Bieber take note
+The Slavery Channel lots of stuff. certainly, a whole hell of a lot more than what you've got in yours.
Handled everyone with total class.. Russell Harry was a real patronizing prick .. Bowie way too intelligent for him
Is that his name? so obnoxious.
@@juliact - Actually his name was Russel Hardy, I suspect it was just a case of auto correct when the OP said it was Harry. But yes, I agree Russel Hardy was obnoxious in this.
russell harty sorry i couldn't resist correcting..
@@wayne6241 - Ha, so it is. I must’ve had a senior moment
Bowie was a gentleman and very smart at replying! He was a beautiful person.
Oh well done her
when the women asked if bowie if he was bi when he had already said he was so stupid seriously if youd do your research youd know he’s already said that in a different interview smh
Yeah wtf was that, people want to know too much about his sex life and its idiotic. Hes answered the question + just cuz hes a star doesnt mean he cant have privacy!
Everyone wanted him to kiss and tell, they wanted to know who, so they could imagine it, and then judge him for being himself.
These people are legit so chill when they annoy him omg... Seriously if i ever thought I'd ever annoyed Bowie I'd cry of shame till I died.
Easy to like this fellow. He’s cool, not trying to be, he’s cool.
At least David kept his cool and not lashed out by shouting, swearing, throwing things and hitting people
People asking DB really stupid questions and him dealing with it gracefully would be a better title
Yeah but tbf back in 2009 i suppose this was considered surpising behaviour lol
even though he got annoyed by some of those questions, he never walked out - I would have. Interviewers were always trying to make him fit in this nice little box so they could sum him up in 3 words. He was so much more complex than that. That man interviewing him in front of a television set is the absolute worst. You want to punch him
Totally agree! David won hands down in that SCANDLEOUS interview!!! Once a gentleman...always a gentleman..sadly missed..
may i suggest this video be called: david bowie gives normal answers to normal questions and some extremely rude questions
+mynameisrudi He remained the class-act English diplomat, instead of "it's none of your business", he says, "this is really my own business."
I love that he is not a yes , people pleasure . He has his own mind and doesn't tolerate idiots
He's passive aggressive and it's so funny, what an amazing man 😂
How is this angry ?
I wish I was as calm as him when angry they littraly asked him if he even cared about his mother, asked if he was really was bisexual, insulted his hair, and just picked on him for being himself, and stupid nosey qestions still he was pleasant and the worst they got was him saying a sarcastic anser or just saying he wouldnt anser it or asking them the same qestion back like how is that angry
Annoyed isn't angered
@@KerioFive I mean he's should have been angry at some of those Qs not just annoyed (some comments were sayings he was angry that's why I said angry
@@emr2248 I can look this calm when I'm furious, hes just keeping his composure, but you can still tell how angry he is by the responses.
@@karl810 yh but I think it's kinda fair to be a bit pissed at sum of these Qs
Exactly !! David Bowie was human like us all..but knew how to handle any situation with eloquence..an art in its elfxx RIP Davidx
I can understand getting annoyed at some of the awful and quite rude questions asked and I think Bowie would have been in the right to have really gone off on these people but he was amazingly reserved and sometimes responded with humour, so good on him!
I think I would change the title to "Examples of people asking obvious stupid questions"
And David Bowie had such a class he was dealing with it very professional ..other people would have been exploded even if this is not a good solution..
Exploding at the interviewer is boring. Getting smart with them, and playing mind-games is the much more entertaining aspect.
They are not making any more David Bowies are they. He was totally self made like so many of these renaissance people back then they seemed really super knowledgeable more so than anyone today
..i dont know ...maybe 'Stormsy' will turn out to be an Artist of equal-stature to David Bowie???? . . .(I jest of course ....Bowies like will NEVER be seen again !!!!!!)🙂👍
And EVERY one 2day sounds EXACTLY the same! I don't even know who they are.. Or the did between them! it's disgusting how these 1-off flakes are considered such great artists .. Please! Ppl 2day wouldn't know talent if it smacked em over the head! Frikken "American Idol" CRAP. Everyone's a star ..so they THINK! 🤣✌🏼😁
I love how simply humble he is.
I would have ongoing existential shame if I had said something that offended David Bowie!
Being interviewed by the pretentious prat Harty would make anyone angry.
This world didn't deserve Bowie. I miss him. 💔❤✨
Shut up sycophant.
John Woodmass psychopath* my dear friend
+Quinn Ramirez Apologies Quinn I was "fraped" then when my phone was out of my hands. I was watching Bowie video because I like Bowie, I agree with your comment. I can only apologise for the dick at my table who messed with my phone.
Don't worry he's not dead the little shit is hiding out it was a hoax
John Woodmass no need to apologize. It's ok, no harm done. :)
They were rude/ stupid questions and Bowie was measured in his responses. In the clip with Jools Holland, Bowie had just been insulted back stage by Liam Gallagher. He wasn't annoyed with Holland, just the stupidity of the Gallagher he encountered moments before.
It really pisses me off, the way some people treated him.
JP Patches the guy in the blue suit. Retched
He is so missed. A true original that had fun with it all and somehow remained a gentleman with rude people. He was like a true diamond and shooting star, and now many musicians and artists are like clear plastic.
i want to see how many bowie videos i can watch all night!
me too
"Oh that's a shame"
Lmao
Christ Russell Hartey was such a prick. Asking personal questions about ones own mother. Does the guy have no boundaries?
Harry was so ignorant he ignored Grace Jones, but she didn't let him away with it she bashed him several times ,well deserved if you ask me
