I'm 5th generation Canadian with Scottish roots. My 2nd great grandfather was born in Kelso and came to Lower Canada as a British soldier to fight the war of 1812. In 2012, I went to Scotland and visited most of the places in the Borders that your tour visited. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, and watching your video brought back many memories.
Im so glad you enjoyed it and hope you are subscribed to the channel? If you continue to watch I am about to start a new series on the Rivers of North East England and I am starting with the River Tweed. I intend to follow the course of the River high in the Scottish Uplands all the way through the Borders to Berwick where it enters the North sea. Im sure you will get great enjoyment following the series as it unfolds. It is due to start in January. Keep watching best wishes Jon
Hi Wendy thank you for watching and for your comment. Please subscribe if you havent already done so as you are in for a real treat. Starting next month I am beginning a new project looking at the Rivers of the North East of England and the first river is the Tweed. We will visit all the border region from Tweedsmuir through Peebles Innerleithen Galashiels Melrose Roxburgh Kelso and Coldstream. The film you just watched was one of a trilogy I made over three years ago when I started the channel. If you have seen any of my recent films you will know I now have a drone, so the plan is to follow the river from Tweedsmuir stopping at all the places of interest along its course to its Estuary at Berwick. By subscribing you will receive notifications from UA-cam when each new film is posted. My very best wishes Jon
Thanks Ida of course you realise that is a repost from 3 years ago just with the dodgy music removed. Before I became a serious creator on YT. My latest offerings are the Aerial journey over Hadrians Wall (second episode of that going up very soon) and the Durham coast 3rd Episode due in two weeks time. I would like your comments on those. Best wishes Jon
Interesting that the Frogs sorry French stood with the Jocks sorry Scots. When in 1066 it was William the Bastard who invaded England 🏴 the last invasion until recent times when we are being daily invaded. Great Video Jon
Thanks Michael glad you enjoyed it. This was one of my first videos done for a friend planning a holiday as the opening credits describe in the first of the trilogy. You need to watch the rest of the channel content to catch up. BUT to answer your question the French needed a backdoor into the English throne and the Scotts needed finance and weapons to fight the English which France were happy to supply so not surprising they teamed up. Called "The Auld Alliance" and still exists today I think? Hope you enjoy the rest of the channel. Best wishes Jon
Thank bud. The stuff Im doing now is way better please check out the rest of the channel. By the way where are you flying? Just got the Air 3 sitting my A2cofc and cant wait to get out there with it. Best wishes Jon
@@jonimrye5722 I’ve got the air2s but as you know it’s pretty restricted where you can fly so I’ve bought mini 4 pro so can fly in more built up areas I’ve only had it couple weeks ille check out your other stuff 👍

Any particular reason that Berwick upon Tweed was not covered or considered as as border Town?
