I haven't been to West Virginia since 1987, and I rode in a car for 13 hours from Georgia to get there. You have hiked a 13 hour car ride.

You have a very nice singing voice ... By the way (;writing July 31 ) Conn , mass , NH , VT , Maine had two weeks of very heavy rain and the trails up here are Soaked , and it's the worst mosquito season I've seen ... hopefully things will dry out by the time you are up here . I'm sure your well into Pennsylvania by now, they Nick named it rocksylvania because it has every type of rock. Little ones big ones pointed ones, round ones the elevation is relatively flat except for the gaps that are down and right back up but the rocks can be annoying because of the consistent change in environment looking forward to watching your journey, i have never followed anyones though hikes in the past because i love the surprise in seeing something new, you have inspired me to finish my journey. I have only been on trial once since my l.a.s.h. (long ass section hike)in 2015 I skipped about 300 miles in Virginia due to heat and lack of water and late start and 100 miles in Vermont. (I just bought a bus ticket to springer 2 days in advance and packed a bag in 2015 but had a little backpacking experience and winged it with no plan) You have inspired me to dust off the gear and finish my journey and I thank you for that -ny breakfast-
OMG! this was recommended to me and I thought I recognized the girl in the picture so I clicked and holy cow! My buddy and I were doing a section hike, hog camp gap to reeds gap, and we all sat around that campfire next to spy rock. Glad to see you're thru hike is going well. I hoped those banana chips and peanuts I gave you on top of three ridges served you. well atleast until you got to the DB brewery. You got my subscription. Happy trails!

I have always loved visiting and just wandering around harpers ferry ,I used to love that little tavern back in the day. I just may have to go there soon and try their food again with a big ol Root beer..haha since regular beer just even sounds disgusting nowadays..lol

Most of the CDT hikers I was following quit. Whole other animal as they’re saying. AT I am following the quicksand show and Craig mains. And a few others who have since summited.

I believe that was a flock of female turkeys. They typically hang out in all male or female flocks. I saw a gang of em once like that backpacking in KY. Thanks for sharing all the beauty of the trail, even Mr. Snake. 😂🐍

You are in my home state now. Harpers Ferry is the most eastern city while I live in the most northern city- Chester
Change out shoes before they deteriorate. You will save yourself a lot of pain by not pushing your shoes. I like ponchos over rain gear. A good poncho can also be used as a tarp or extend the entrance of your tent. Learn how to create a hot poncho incase you get cold. Have fun. Good Luck, Rick

Hey! You got about 300 miles more out of those shoes than most hikers, but they are ready. I thought I could smell them thru the screen but then I noticed my dog was curled up beside my chair😂

just curious, how long does it take you to pack up in the morning ? I just did a week long trip tent camping on a motorcycle. It seemed like it took me forever to pack up.
Maybe like 15 mins. I’ve got the system down after 3 months of doing it almost everyday 😂

Morning Kelly! VA gave you some awesome miles to send you off. Sorry about the bugs, It has been a bad summer for them. I would never turn my back looking forward over the cliff. I’d be too worried about someone sneaking up behind me and pushing me over. That’s just me though. Just a phobia.

I like Magan's videos but I don't think she will be on UA-cam really soon. She likes to make those "happy thoughts" videos. but right now she is dealing with her second serious injury. She admitted before that it's hard to be happy when dealing with injury. Also this is about the time she will be getting off the trail to go and attend her friend's wedding. So she might not be hiking too much more right now. But she was making hiking videos before the AT, so I guess she will be making them after the AT. At least I hope she will.
