@@bobcatethan8919 This is true. I was fortunate to get a UM690 barebones and when all was said and done it cost me $465. It has those 680m integrated graphics in it which gets you right up until games stopped being worth their computational power (imo).
Of course, I always turn the settings down as low as they'll go anyways, because to me most modern games still look great that way, but yeah the biggest draw for me is just having one tiny device on my desk instead of a whole block and a half

The best computer ever was the Commodore 64. For better or worse that’s where I played contra, frogger, mule, archon, and all my other childhood games. It’s so crazy to see what kids today have as options for gaming pc’s. The future is awesome!

@@TechDweeb I came home from school one day and found a stranger in our computer room with my dad packing up our C64 and all my games. He decided it was time for us to upgrade to an IBM and didn’t say a word to me about it before hand. Although I would go on to experience the monkey island series and some other classics it was never the same for me. I literally cried that day when I couldn’t play any of my games that I’d collected for years.

I lost my C64 to a friend of mine but it was on my own terms. I loaned it to him after I got my Amiga 500. I never saw it again. I wish I still had it now but at the time I was fully into the delights of the Amiga. (I still have the A500 and a whole bunch of others (A600, A1200, A500+) that I've picked up on the way, but yeah the C64 was *my* first computer (dad had an Apple II clone - Franklin Ace 1200)

It's all a matter of perspective... and price. Most people hated the PSP Go, but I thought it was brilliant. Then again, I only paid ~$25 for mine.
$169 is a pretty big chunk 'o cash for a machine this limited, though. Unless form factor is crucial, a used desktop would get you more bang for the buck.

@@megapet777 yeah, but kind o f a bummer that the specs it has are crippled by the ram.
I mean even if the price is justifying the crippled parts, if I had this I would feel kind of cheated... Like buying a game on a huge discount and finding out only half the game is playable, the rest is there, files and everything, but it is locked out so you can't play it because you paid less. I could totally live off of emulation and 2d pc games forever and be just fine if I had to. On a side note I would love to see what you think of VR gaming. Have you done a video on taking one of the nuc PCs and turning it into a Wii emulator? Curious if this device can handle it, but figure it needs 2 sticks of RAM to process successfully.
But definitely enjoyed the video and the trick on setting up the device to run big picture mode at start up and hide the icons and taskbar.
Is there some equivalent to big picture mode for streaming either from the desktop or through any of the video streaming? Like turning the mini PC into a media center to handle indie games, watching movies and shows and listening to music?

Thanks for the video. I really enjoy your videos.
Unfortunately, as it is always the case with these smaller miniPC makers, as soon as I arrive at the Amazon link, it's not available any more. My guess is because my address is in Greece and they don't ship there.
So if I ever do get a miniPC, it will have to be from one of the big (heh) miniPC manufacturers, even if one of the smaller ones have a potentially better product.
To clarify, I have no money to buy anything, just saying.

Tons of mini pcs with same 780M are already out. The 8700G is no better. And why not get a cheap GPU that will be better than the APU? I can't imagine getting a whole new platform (AM5) when for same or less money you could go back to AM4 or equivalent Intel with a faster dedicated GPU.
