I have a beelink n100 mini pc, I installed Arch Linux and steam with proton layers. And have been loving indie games on it. Vampire Survivors and Blasphemous run @ 60fps. they have gone up in price since I have bought it though.
If you go for n100 mini pc, which is very tempting considering the price, make sure you get one that has the higher ram speed. Makes a ton of difference for GC and PS2.
It's all a matter of perspective... and price. Most people hated the PSP Go, but I thought it was brilliant. Then again, I only paid ~$25 for mine. $169 is a pretty big chunk 'o cash for a machine this limited, though. Unless form factor is crucial, a used desktop would get you more bang for the buck.
I wonder how much better it would have been if it was dual channel... And better ram speed. Those internal graphics benefit a lot from that. And this one has fairly beefy internal graphics
@@megapet777 yeah, but kind o f a bummer that the specs it has are crippled by the ram. I mean even if the price is justifying the crippled parts, if I had this I would feel kind of cheated... Like you are getting your money's worth, but you still have this potential, it's there, you have it, but can't utilize it...
Im thinking of doing this for Emulation. Get the cheapest mini pc I can find that can still play up to upscaled ps2 games, grab me a hard drive full of roms and set it to just boot up like a console. I could totally live off of emulation and 2d pc games forever and be just fine if I had to. On a side note I would love to see what you think of VR gaming. Maybe a meta quest 3 video in your future? 😁😁
Have you done a video on taking one of the nuc PCs and turning it into a Wii emulator? Curious if this device can handle it, but figure it needs 2 sticks of RAM to process successfully. But definitely enjoyed the video and the trick on setting up the device to run big picture mode at start up and hide the icons and taskbar. Is there some equivalent to big picture mode for streaming either from the desktop or through any of the video streaming? Like turning the mini PC into a media center to handle indie games, watching movies and shows and listening to music?
Thanks for the video. I really enjoy your videos. Unfortunately, as it is always the case with these smaller miniPC makers, as soon as I arrive at the Amazon link, it's not available any more. My guess is because my address is in Greece and they don't ship there. So if I ever do get a miniPC, it will have to be from one of the big (heh) miniPC manufacturers, even if one of the smaller ones have a potentially better product. To clarify, I have no money to buy anything, just saying.
Did you try Noita yet? I dont nee it in your video. I think that its a great indie games to benchmark a mini pc, since its not big but definitely not on the small side. Also its 2D but its gimmicky with the "every pixel is simulated" system. I think it will be a nice addition to your benchmarking tools
