I like how people use the term “Puppet Combo like game” for games that look lowpoly. It’s nice and amazing and does feel like a common way of saying a specific type of graphics done for the game. :D

a golden freddy plushie, that acts as your important source of light, and also turns into regular freddy to symbolize that you are screwed is one of the coolest horror aspects I can see for the fnaf universe.
I just love how a horror game can become more scary just by it having ps1 graphics

I dont remember the game but the cutscene with the puppet staring at you in the freddy mask is taking place on the stage from FNAF 1

This is pretty much *exactly* how I imagined FNAF when someone described it to me in 2014. In my head there was a deep purple fog, but yeah. Insanely accurate to how freshman year me imagined this series by word of mouth.
This fan game seems very promising, I hope it eventually releases!

The moment I see “Puppet Combo” and “Fnaf” in a title I’m both scared and bolted to my seat
It does all definitely look very promising. Though, it, fir some reason, reminded me of one small "nit pick" I have with most FNAF fan games and even the main FNAF franchise. That's the fact Freddy is no longer the "big bad" anymore. The entire franchise is named after him, yet he's always just kinda side lined. He's no more of a threat than Chica, Bonnie, or Foxy. In FNAF 1 he waits until night 4, or 5 I can't remember at the moment, to even activate and was the hardest animatronic to deal with. He came off as intimidating and even intelligent. As if he used the first 3-4 nights just studying you. Idk, I just needed to rant about that.
In Fnaf1, he's literally just rushing you down unless you make him stare into a camera.

Imo the problem is Afton/springtrap being the main villain and people thinking of freddy as just a victim, with less importance than others like Puppet.
Guess it doesn't help SB Freddy being your partner, but i agree with you.

Foxy would've likely had either a fnaf 2-like mechanic where you need to use the light on him to keep him at bay, which could put you at risk to being spotted by Bonnie or Chika
Or you'd need to go back to that safe room every once in a while while he goes on the prowl, keeping you from doing things like winding the music box

The ps1 came out in 1994 while most of FNAF takes place fairly decently before then making the NES minigames make even more sense

The backgrounds are 4 bit but the characters are 8 bit so yes and no
Puppet combo’s style is my favorite style for horror games; you don’t need a bunch of fancy graphics to make a super scary experience. (I love Cory’s videos on their games.) I think this game is super cool, and has a lot of potential - a very unique idea for a FNaF game. Can’t wait for it to come out, and watch some videos on it. Maybe I’ll try and play it one day. Amazing video, as always. Love your stuff, dude!
For real. I feel like more primitive graphics enhance the horror aspect of a horror game, while fancier graphics undermine the scariness of a horror game. It is a weird dilemma.

Visiting fazbears really has a lot of potential and also the remaster with the part that shows chapter 2, 1985 maybe means that each chapter in a different time point in the fnaf series meaning that we visit the locations from the mainline fnaf games in the time points they are in so the witheredsin 1985 make since fnaf 2 is around that time though its 1987 but meh also the game is well done with the whole retro aesthetic

I absolutely LOVE Puppet Combo games. This Puppet Combo-inspired game looks amazing and it is apparent that much love has been poured into it. I haven't played it, but looking at the demos in this video, the screen effect should have a combination of CRT lines and static

the puppet mechanic should be scrapped and replaced for foxy. lets say foxy needs to be "winded" or "charged" up every few minutes or else he'll start running around the place activly looking and running for the player with lit up eyes that can easily spot you, so that would make surviving just a little more harder and punishable if you dont do it but itll give you a chance to survive.
or maybe you could lure foxy back into the pirate cove to calm him down and start the progress of checking on him or charging him

I never knew how much I wanted this game to exist until I saw it being made.
If I made this, I would put foxy on a timer and once that timer is up he would run around the dining area once or twice then go back to the cove.
It would be cool if you have to use the light to stop frock from getting you, he would be able to see you in the dark

I’ve seen fusion play this game and honestly I thought it was truly Terrifying and creepy . The jump scares got me a lot of the time when watching it

I honestly prefer the original demo. Both of them are incredible, but I think the original has that sense of PS1 jank that’s hard to replicate. The two demos are like PS1 vs. PS2.

I think for foxy if you hear running you need to hide as foxy will run through the hallways every once and a while
I would've loved to see much more flat textures, for example de fredbear plushie would've worked well as a flat texture. Sprites were commonly used to optimize stuff in PS1 games. A LOT.
