Jack Kirby nailed out so much art work it is amazing, just like Stan Lee who was writing about 10 different comics at one time. yup holy crap. Kirby stuff sometimes is hit and miss. he started doing a heck of a lot of 4 panel pages which is his way of knocking it out faster. and you can tell when he rushed things, faces look like they have this odd frozen gazed look to them with started eyes. there's many avengers stuff exactly what I'm saying which is how you can tell Kirby. thor sometimes his face just looks odd there's inconsistencies. it's weird, cause I read SHIELD and his art work is radically different more refined and you don't see a lot of his what I call, "sausage fingers" when he draws.
Looking forward to collecting the whole Dan Jurgens run. Waited for the 2nd printing of Walt Simonson's Thor. It was definitely worth the wait, and my patience paid off literally.
Silver age Thor is a pretty good read. The Kirby art helps a lot. Spider-Man is the best IMO, then FF and Dr. Strange. I'd put Thor and Silver Surfer right after those. SHIELD, Avengers, Iron-Man, and Cap are decent. X-Men, Hulk, and especially Daredevil were a chore at times. Probably why they published the DD omnibus last.
It's all good. Your channel is the shit, along with Peter Marinari and sometimes Comicbookgirl19. Keep this up! A readthrough, review, or discussion about that 90s Thor by Jurgens and Romita Jr. would be cool. I've been considering buying that, and I'm still on the fence.
I have the first Omni...however decided to read the first few issues in the Masterworks collection...fun stuff...single issue stories...love the panel when he says..."oh No I am tripping" lol
I don't have the other first two omnis, but I have 3 and you will like it if you read it, the art is awesome and the stories are more action packed for a silver age omnibus, it took me by surprise!
Can anyone tell me whether there are letter's pages in Omnibus #2 or not? GMC shows quite clearly that there are none in #1 (right?). By what issue do they start printing the letters pages in the Omnies? And does that answer to by what # they started printing letters in the original JIM books...?
It suck'S i can't find something so Amazing in Romania its hard to find comics or graphic novels in Europe and when You find them they are expensive as hell + the shipping costs as much as the book . Again bro much much RespecT . You are my HerO . Keep up the good work .
I know how much Simonson's run gets praised but I remember even as a kid thinking Throg (frog Thor) was just about the single dumbest thing I had ever read in comics up to that point lol
They’ve been reprinting so much captain America lately, hopefully Thor’s next..I can’t drop $500 on the book with all these statues I have on order lol
0:12 He's borrowed from norse, not greek mythology.
Oriste Trt yea that’s right, Norse, not Greek. Thanks lol.
@@GemMintCollectibles God Of War kind of connects them
JMS (strazinski's) run is one of the absolute best thor runs. Some of the best comics ever made.
ABSOLUTELY.
JMS + Olivier Coipiel artwork makes that run one of the best stories Marvel has EVER told.
I love your marvel omnibus collections! They are so awesome.
I believe I would choose to go down fighting rather than let someone take my Thor Simonson Omnibus. That's the hill I would die on.
how the hell did jack kirby draw all those books every month?
Because he's the KING. 'Nuff said.

Norse mythology. Not Greek. It's more similar to old Celtic, Inuit, and Slavic mythology.
Tony Bjornson yea, fucked that up lol

Wow, I don't have any such collections but I'm planning for collecting them
Where can I find captain America omnibus or epic collection from 25 to 78. From the Golden age 1941????
I don't have the other first two omnis, but I have 3 and you will like it if you read it, the art is awesome and the stories are more action packed for a silver age omnibus, it took me by surprise!
Why no issue #356 and #370 for Walter Simonson's Thor?

nouredine bourenane that’s a good question. I’m not really sure because I haven’t read those yet
My friend, I am Brazilian, and I really liked your channel, so in your country, these omnibus are possible to buy in another format.
Diogo da Silva Vidal there are. Most are soft cover. Epic collections, complete collections or trade paperback.
Probably include the Loki omnibus with these.👌🏾
Iron Cardinal ah shit forgot about that one
any good Thor stories to read
Just bought the thor return book off ist for sixty two percent off, had to get it. thx gem man.
I know how much Simonson's run gets praised but I remember even as a kid thinking Throg (frog Thor) was just about the single dumbest thing I had ever read in comics up to that point lol
Have you read the Walt simonsins omnibus?
still have not
@@GemMintCollectibles read it it's the best Thor run out there.

Gem Mint Collectibles " can you call me 2nd suitor ...suitor number 2 sounds like bathroom code" definately one of the coolest movies

Is there a chance Thor omnibus 1 by Lee and Kirby will get a reprint?!
there is a chance...but nothing announced yet
*and the 2nd printing of Thor by Simonson has the same art as the dust jacket*

FROG THOR!!
Do any Geminites know where I could find the 3 volume omnibus set?
you talking about the silver age ones? i know vol 1 is very hard to find.
Yes sir. Vol 1 is like a mythical creature..
You are worthy.
u read sword an sorcery stuff like conan
Vance Walden no, I have colossal Conan but haven’t read it yet.
Conan is superb!
i think beta ray bill was
Thor is ma boi!
I vote marvel starts making Aaron Omnibus
You read all this?
> G R E E K
Odin lifted it befor maybe cap he lifted it in the 80s
Just from seeing these, I'd think the 90s omnibus would be my favorite. Have you had the chance to read these gem? Which one stands out to you?
Is it a pain when you get a new omni and you have to move them all to the right because they’re in alphabetical order?
yes!
Thor is from Norse mythology.
yea had a brain fart
You sound kinda tired
Do you think Thor is 420 friendly?
Imagine if the movie had featured the Surtur from Siminson's run. How epic. Instead they played it for laughs and made Surtur a throwaway joke.
Yes then Cap
Norse* Mythology bro :)
Edit: Just noticed half of youtube below told you about it. Dont mind me.
lol
