i just win a ninja 400 in a local lottery, is my first bike, so this is very helpfull
As someone who has bad adhd, your random noises actually helped me stay focused and learn every bit I needed. Thank you man!
WOOT! Glad I could help out in any way!
I took day one of my MSF course today and ive been watching this video over and over prior to the course. I just want you to know how spot on you are to the course. You really are helping and teaching so many people with your videos. Thank you so much
Bro that's awesome ty
I absolutely love this guy’s enthusiasm and in depth explaining on every single aspect you’ll need and run into while riding a bike for the first time, and the sound effects to top it off are so funny, thank you for this king we really appreciate this guide. not a lot of people go in depth with everything and the basics like you did they just go straight to riding. love ya 🥺🙌❤️
Lol the man moans! It was my pleasure making it. Thanks for taking time and writing this up and giving it a watch! Helps us out a lot.
@@SunGymLive sure sounds like it was your pleasure based off those moans 😂
Came here to make this same comment
I’ve seen a bunch of these tutorial videos and this is the best one that explains it for beginners. Great work!!
YOOOO that means a lot! thanks for watching helps me out a lot!
Going to go look for my first bike today hopefully this works
@@dodarightthing6528hows it goin ? im supposed to be getting one thursday
I've watched this video a dozen times before I went out and bought a 2022 Ninja 400 and still watch this a few more times trying to learn since I'm a brand new rider and haven't made it to a class yet. Still building up the courage to hit 2nd gear 🤣
You got it! 2nd gear is much smoother. Less jumpy.
I am a 14 year old boy from Philippines, i never learned how to ride a motorcycle because last time my brother teached me but i never understand, until i watched this video because I know English more then Filipino, i did it on a empty parking lot, i watched it 6x, i just wanna thank you for teaching me how to ride one, in our Area it is safe to ride a bike without cops. Once again Thank you ❤❤
This is seriously one of the best tutorials I've seen. Straight forward and no over-explaining things.
Yessssssssss
this is gonna come in handy when I get my bike one day :D
Get it bro!

This is by far the best tutorial I’ve seen yet✅✅ and graciously thankful for the knowledge my guy 🙏🏽

You did a really good job, for the really begginers this is enough to learn. Calmly, step by step, with easy explanation. Perfect. Keep up with it man
Thanks brother!
as someone who wants a bike but doesnt know anything this was so much help
Best bike video out there for beginners.
Thanks brother!
You are definitely an excellent instructor because you have the calm to teach and the process to follow for a beginner. I congratulate you!
Thanks DJ!
Swear I’ve watched over 300 beginner tutorials and this one is honestly one of the best because you ACTUALLY show what you are doing WHILE explaining. My course is in 2 weeks so I’m excited
You got this brother!
How did your course go bro? Hope you passed
Did you pass?
Thank you so much for this video !! I literally saw your video once and I was able to drive out the dealer with my brand new bike 🏍 first time rider . Never rode one in my life. You made my experience so much easier . Great video
I'm about to start learning, man I must say you made me feel a lot better about it, and gave me some confidence. Thank you for this!

Your video really helped me learn by watching over and over and now i own my first bike and even passed MSF course and now have my license. Thanks for doing this video for people like me who wanted to learn.

Thank you for posting!
👍
Glad it was helpful!
i learned driving last year but i needed some help to get it again and i gotta say this is such a good video props
Ty Ty
This is far better than learning to ride at the MSF course. I gave them my hard earned money and this was much more interesting. The explanation on every detail answered so many questions I had when I took the course. You’re doing one hell of a job Bro.
Thanks 😉🤙🏼
yooooo ty man :)
I agree!
Omg it’s so true.
Bro you did amazing, really helps!! Trust bro
This is an amazing video! Thank you so much! This has eased my anxiety for when I take my class and getting on a bike for the first time here in the next couple of weeks.
Good luck Lisa!
Every other tutorial they don’t break it down and explain reasonably and logically why to not do and why to do things and you’ve done it perfectly. I plan on taking my BRC and this helped me learn a lot and gave me a good amount of confidence. Thanks man.
I appreciate that!
I'll make sure to document my adventures into getting into motorcycles and also I won't forget to give props where they're do thanks for the video 👍

Best online tutorial so far; subbed and liked. So tired of looking at my bike in the garage
RESPECT that brother! What kind of ride we got sitting in the garage?
2021 Cbr500r, been looking at trying to figure out where to start.
@@krims0n2s great bike brother!
Just bought this exact bike, trying to teach my son (15) how to ride. This video helps alot. I am going to make him watch it over and over till he can at least coast without stalling.
Hey Jon!!! Man... getting him started EARLY! Great choice for a bike man. RIDE SAFE. Thanks for watching brother helps me out a lot.
Thanks SunGym this helped a lot ❤
I've been searching around for a video like this. You cleared all my doubts. Thank you.
Probably the best tutorial I’ve seen. Learning smooth throttle and clutch control is essential. Jerking the bike is sign someone need to know how to properly handle these controls.
@Sungym , you said when we are downshifting, we lose rpm, and we need to give a little juice to match the rpm as we slowly releasing the clutch.
What rpm values for what gear?
When in gear 2 does that mean we want to be around 2000 rpm?
So rpms would be dependent on the bike and how you ride. The difference in RPMS from the 400 and the GSXR 600 are a lot different. I typically shift gears between 5-6 rpms with normal riding and with more aggressive riding around 10 - 11 rpms. Remember you can ALSO rev match to down shift I'll link a video I made for that. ua-cam.com/video/yBwN_GXKnIs/v-deo.html
This is how I down shift that way I can down shift at any RPMs and not have to slowly release the clutch.
Honesty this is THE best beginner motorcycle tutorial video I have seen and I have been watching every single one available for weeks before my MSF classes so I can jump into the riding portions like a pro.
Thank you for your slow, concise and careful explanations of each mechanism. Excellent job!
YESSSSS! Glad I could help Spencer!!!!!
Hey did you take your classes yet?! If so how did they go? I start mine the 6th!
This is the best beginner bike video ive ever watched hands down. The most helpful. My biggest issue is starting and stopping. Putting my feet up and down without panicking or getting the wobble. I was so scared of it i bought a scooter to start on instead of a bike. I have bruises all over my ankles from snatching my feet up and down and savinv the scooter from falling but im getting better. I make myself go out there every day. Im fine while im going but until i get to the point where i dont panick when i start and stop im not leaving my apartment complex lol.
Awesome vid man! really helped! Thanks my dude!
My pleasure
I bought two Ninja 400's. It's not my first motorcycle but it's the first sport bike I've rode. My son's, age 20 and 22 will be riding them and it's their absolute first time on a motorcycle. They're learning in our back yard and taking the MSF training courses.
This is a very good motorcycle. It's on the very edge of what I think is a motorcycle for beginners. This motorcycle has awesome 0 to 60 times wich makes it possible to get into some serious trouble on it. It goes over 100 mph so works for highways and shorter freeway rides. I personally like a bigger bike for freeways, but nobody will be riding more than 30 to 45 minutes at 80mph. Learning to ride a motorcycle correctly takes years of practice and this is a wonderful bike to ride. It's a beginner sport bike. It's quite powerful for a first timer though. Control your writs! This 400 doesn't kid around.
For around town it's kick ass. The acceleration keeps up with the big boys around town. It's only over normal operating speeds, including freeways, where a more powerful bikes overtakes it.
As someone who really wants to learn how to ride & always loved sports bikes, thank you for this!
You are SO WELCOME. Thanks for taking time and dropping a comment.
@@SunGymLive Thank YOU for being a good coach/teacher on this for beginners & I will be constantly watching this on repeat until I take my lessons, as well on the rev mething & counter steering vid. Are you also gonna do more "How Tos" like on how to care for your bike when it comes to maintenance, cleaning it a certain way (especially the bike chain), etc.? I would really like to learn those the most as well!
*Edit*
Also, my first bike I also want is a Kiki😂 400 or a XZ-6R model if I don't find the ninja model/year I want for decent $$$. But my friends are trying to convince me to go 600😅
@@xmugenyoruichix NOTHING wrong with a Kiki! Ya we have more ' how tos' on the way! I started on a 600 my self even have a little review on my 600.
@@SunGymLive I'll check it out!

Dude I'm so glad you posted this! I'm thinking about getting a Ninja 400 pretty soon, and I've never even ridden a dirt bike before. This is a great beginner guide.
Ahh my pleasure brother! SUMMER time is approaching... bike season baby!
Awesome video dude! Thank you!
Amazing job bro, I’m trying to get a motorcycle at 16 to commute to school but I know In order to get my license I should take the MSF course especially since I know nothing about motorcycles😂 And I’m thinking about getting a Kawasaki 400 since it looks cool asf and an easy bike to learn any tips would be helpful
Ahh ya man the Ninja 400 is a great starting point and a bike you can grow with!
BEST TUTORIAL! I'm new to clutches.. Never learned on a car and I'm a new motorcycle rider. Is it bad to just when you're approaching a stop sign or light to hold the clutch in and click down a few notches to first? That's how I've been doing it because I can get Rev matching down
Listen you CAN get rev matching down. We even have a video on how to rev match!!!! And no its not bad that you do that I just call that lazy shifting. It took me a minute to learn how to do it and its really fun to do. You get to hear your bike go vroom vroooom vrooooom as your down shifting compared to click click click
@@SunGymLive I'm getting a little better at up shifting before it would always jerky when I went up a gear because I wasn't doing it right and still do it occasionally.. I really need this question asked because I'm tired of my bike always jerking... So when I'm coming to a left or right turn and don't need to stop fully I'll do the lazy down shift like you said lol to 1st gear and as I'm turning I'll get on the throttle very slightly and still my bike jerks and it's embarrassing because everybody can see and also scary because it jerks me a little closer to cars and that's not good. What am I doing wrong?
@@rickyrichreacts9667 So if you know you are turning ahead you could 'rev match down' before the turn to the appropriate gear or normal shift down instead of lazy shifting. YOU don't need to go all the way down to 1st gear to turn. Keep that B in 2nd gear. 1st gear is really jerky if you don't have good throttle control.
@@SunGymLive ahhh okay I never knew that. So I can keep it in 2nd instead of 1st if I'm turning? What about when stopped, can I still keep it and take off in 2nd?
@@rickyrichreacts9667 When coming to a complete stop you would go down to 1st. Let's say you are pulling into a parking lot you could stay in 2nd then when you find your parking spot as you approach it bring in the clutch shift down to first and slowly press in both breaks to stop.

I remember when I first actually took some time to look around a bike, before even hopping on one at the MSF course, I was way weirded out by all the knobs and sticks protruding out.
