I understand that the remote function is not available for vehicles before 2017. If there is no assistance button on the overhead console, the remote function cannot be used. If you use the assistance button to create an incontrol account and use the remote app, vehicles without remote functions will not be able to see the function in the remote app.
I wish I had found this video two days ago!! It's been driving me mad trying to work out how journeys are being logged on the Remote App even though I have no SIM installed! As soon as I reach a destination and switch off the engine, the journey is recorded in the App and I have no subscriptions or anything! Amazing! It does beg the question though. Whats the point of paying for the Tracker? If my car gets stolen, I can just go to the journey history and it will tell me exactly where my car is! Or am I missing something?
We're glad you learned how to use the remote app correctly. In the case of the tracker, the remote app notifies the vehicle status in real time. Even if the vehicle is being stolen, you can determine the location of the vehicle in real time.
@@LandRoverGuidebook - Thanks. So, are there any benefits to purchasing a SIM? I’ve noticed that the App always states ‘Locked not Alarmed’. But, I worked out that the it ‘transmits’ the status as soon as you stop the engine (at which point the car is locked and the alarm is not set). So, if I install a SIM, will that give me the current status every time I refresh the App? I don’t need live updates for the Map etc as I can tether off my iPhone if required
You don't need a SIM card at all when using the remote app. The remote app uses a separate communication device built into the vehicle. Vehicle functions that require a SIM card include navigation, live app, web browser, software update, and hotspot functions.

@@PhannyObsession I don't know exactly why. Sometimes, for unknown reasons, communication between the remote app and the vehicle may not be possible. Perhaps the cause is not using the car or remote app for 3-4 days to enter sleep mode. There is also no clear way of waking from sleep mode.
My new defender 2022 model when my subscription was expired I had to repay for another year. After doing that my car is not able to sign into the incontrol app. Sadly my dealer I bought the car from does not communicate so where or who do I complain to assist.

The InControl Apps function is available only in vehicles that have been applied as a option. If you do not see the InControl Apps function on the infotainment screen, it will not be activated even if you connect a smartphone.
Do you know is 2016 Land Rover evoque has remote start? Also how long is it free for ? Do you have to Pay for this

You can extend your subscription through your local Land Rover Importer.

How to change radio frequency from area to anther area in range rover sport 2016
In other area, the radio frequency changes automatically.
Can I have that installed in my land rover
I cant remember my PIN number and there is no way to reset it
If the PIN is lost, there is no way to find it.
You will have to delete and recreate the InControl account.
