I like how this video was posted on April 14th
Lmao easter egg
perfect marketing
And I loved how your comment had 141 likes at the moment I SAW it. There's real magic in numbers. Sacred geometry and such.. .
@Jack Marlett I think that's his point!
Wow... i would never expect a synth manufacturer to support an old instrument to this extent after this long... I might buy one only because of this...
Coen Bijpost they have the best after market support I have ever had , they sent me a free new keyboard bed for my second hand mininova and offered help in installing it, they also sent me a free power supply for my circuit when mine stopped working , top company with awesome customer service ,they still update all their old products regularly, and they listen to the consumers and implement changes to firmware based on consumer input . Proper company that I will always buy from and support

My experience with Novation customer service is consistent with yours. The front line people are are both knowledgeable and empowered to do whatever they can to help customers.
Almost a year later. Just bought one too finally. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
It is one of the best pieces of hardware I have ever bought. It's a beast.
Thank you for the continuing support of this instrument! Really cool update!
You're very welcome, Pete! Enjoy 🙌🙏
Killing it!
🙌🙏❤
This is amazing!!! I cant believe that after last update you could surprise us with something even better... And this proves that you are one of the best companies in the world. You could make an entire new product with this last two updates, and call it a bsIII, but you gave this to us and brought a new life in old yet great synth.... Thank you thank you thank you! Every company should take care of their old products and customers like you do... And big thanks to Aphex Twin, he is genious and inspiration always..
Thank you for your kind words. It's great to hear that you're enjoying these updates! 🙌🙏

I've never been happier with a purchase from any other company in my life, hands down. You deserve all the credit you get
have to say novation are a don company..will be recommending to anyone who has not got one of these synths.
This ^
this is why i bought a bs2. but the meny dive was too deep, so i got stupid and sold it.. then bought it again bc the presets are great.. but the meny dive was so steep so i sold it again... now im better at synthsis so im thinking about getting it a third time and never sell it again.
Bought a BS2 a month or so ago. This is like Christmas has come early.
You're killing it Novation - awesome service.
💪🎅🤘
How do you like it? I’m heavily considering one now.
I wanted to achieve a couple things - a way to start a setup which wasn't completely tied to a DAW, and real analogue source. Im really happy because the BS2 does all these things and it has lots of potential for more since it has great USB implementation and the recent updates make it powerful enough to work with a much expanded setup.
It’s crazy that these past 2 updates allow the Bass Station to compete with synths 2-3 times it’s price.
Guys, you are the greatest! This is how developing and improving product on market should be! Endless possibilities from Bass Station. Thank you!
You guys are amazing, I can see some long weekends ahead learning this :)
Novation Team= The best support on hardware firmware, amazing update on Bass Station too! AFX mode it's really cool. Thank You!
This is so amazing, a whole new world opens up!
Absolutely incredible update, thank you!
Novation has earned my respect. I love the BS2. It was also affordable. And they are still making it better.
This is a perfect example of the reason I have so many Novation products! Other manufacturers rarely, if ever, mention people (well known band or otherwise) who suggest a great idea, let alone listen to them or implement it, but Novation …. Yeah! What a very cool update. Want a 3rd osc on a 2-osc synth? Sure. Want your diminutive BSII to split sounds along the keyboard like an old-school Emulator? Sure.
The support and continued development benchmark that other manufacturers should strive to achieve.
Unprecedented updates!
Thanks for your support! 🙏🙌
Awesome update. We recently were asked at work what brand we admire and why. I chose Novation and cited its commitment to customers and the way it continues to update and add new features when you could easily release a new model with new firmware. Other synth manufacturers could learn a lot from you. Thanks Novation Music!1
Thanks for your kind words, Steve! We really appreciate your support 🙌🙏❤
Couldn't agree more.
My Bass Station II will arrive today! Excited 😁
Fantastic demonstration Calc! You move very quickly through the features in a very easy to understand way, and the things you're doing actually sound good so it remains interesting to watch. I also like the way you demonstrate multiple new features in conjunction with one another. You're the king dude.
I think this firmware update makes the BSII the most versatile synth for its price. Unbelievable job guys, you are amazing!
Amazing update yet again, especially love being able to tune the sub independently. Going to be able to make some really rich bass patches with 3 oscillators.
lets's share these with each other.
Man, you guys are crazy! :P
This Synth becomes a batter value as time passes! :]
I have a *LOT* of respect for your Company & I'm glad I decided to business with you!
Bass Station 3 will be a BEAST
The BS2 just gets better and better, thank you!
I just bought a BS2 beause of these amazing upgrades Novation keeps coming up with. Keep going guys ... don't let me down.
I'll rock my Bass Station II forever. FOREVER.
I cant belive it. Its like buying a new Synthesizer, what a time to be alive!!
This is just one of the reasons why I buy Novation :)
updates on updates!
This synth was already the centre of my sound, now im just like, wow. Amazing brand amazing synth
You guys just UNBELIEVABLE! Thanks for the amazing work you keep putting into this great great lil synth!
wow! you’ve really taken this synth to a new level...and released just as I’m working out new ideas for drum lines. Thank you!!
Perfect timing! You'll certainly create some inspiring rhythms with AFX Mode.
I recently sold my Minilogue and got a Bass Station 2. It was even better than I expected, especially with the previous firmware...but this is just MINDBLOWING! Thank you, Novation :)
Thanks for your support! It's great to hear that you're enjoying this 🙌🙏
Bass Station II is a gift that keeps on giving) I wonder if we'll ever have 3 voice paraphonic mode)
I am so glad I decided to purchase this synth when I was faced with other options. Thanks Novation!
You guys are absolutely awesome with these updates!
Amazing! Thanks for another awesome update. If I had only one further feature request, it would be to enable saving sequences per patch... but then I feel like we’ve been quite spoiled already. ;-)
What a lovely time to buy bs2

NovationTV Components Standalone is saying ‘error getting updates’
@@tonalaxis Sorry to hear that Richard. We have sent you a DM.
NovationTV thanks, and on a Sunday! Customer service at its finest! :)
This for the peak 🙏🏻
Massive! I love it!
This is so insane and amazing! Thanks for continued support and now almost a new synth with the individual key option. Sweet.
I ordered one the day before this was announced, now waiting (im)mpatiently for its arrival. Your support is legendary!
this is incredibly helpful!! thanks bunches to you good people over there at the Hobson novation station!! these super deep developments of a somewhat older synth of yours is... well, it's very generous & greatly appreciated. bravo, team!!
Absolutely incredible update, this makes the bass station on par with elektron gear which I use, thank you novation, and keep the updates coming!
Yeah, this is how all the companies should work...Well done Novation, this is Real Customer Support... The other companies : Take notes...
Just superb - had this synth for years and it just gets better
I love that you're still updating this. Thank you so much for continuing development on the BSII. You stand out from your competition big time. In fact its this kind of commitment which made me readily choose to buy your SL MkIII. No brainer. Thanks again.
Great update and well presented demonstration. Thank you.
Awesome update. Nice Tutorial/demo. Thanks Novation.👍
17 unlikes are from people who sold their bass station before the last two updates
😅😂
My dislike is the guy was completely lost in the beginning of the music...
Why are some companies using these "pr / marketing / synth lost guys"
@@darkdialect Sorry, Not gonna follow you on that nitpicking journey.
@@darkdialect You after a job bud?? 🤔
First the Monologue by Korg, now this. RDJ, I love you.
This was the first synth I ever bought, never thought this would get an amazing update like this! Aphex is such a legend for reaching out to Novation 🙏
It's great to hear that you're enjoying v4.14, Martijn! 🙏👍
Amazing and unexpected update!!! Thanks so much!!
Just updated mine. Thanks so much for the new firmware, guys! God bless you all!
Man, the last update gave me my first real paraphonic analogue experience ... and now this! Love it!
Novation , best support ever , love these guys , always been stand up when it comes to help and spare parts.
Wonderful presentation, just picked up BS2 few days ago, was not aware of this bomb functions! ,) Thanks a lot!
Thanks, Jan! Glad you found this useful 👍
Nice job, Novation. Demonstrating again why you're one of my favorite synth makers. The BS2 has long one of my favorite synths but the recent updates have just taken into true beast mode.
Thanks, Matt! Glad you're enjoying this.
All i can say is awesome.thanks novation for keeping the torch burning on the bass station 2.this definitely makes this one of the most powerful and amazing priced mono synths available.
Fantastic additions to an already fantastic synth !
Time for a plugin editor ... great update :)
Thx Mister James!
The features added are unreal. The BS III could be crazy! Novation are doing unreal work on the software side of their hardware products.
Buying one today because of the way you updated the BS2, I have the mini nova and the mono station too. they could benefit from some funky ideas too.
Glad to hear you decided to grab a Bass Station II. Thanks for your support, Chris 👍
I’ve switched to afx mode and using it as a monophonic drum synth with my spdSx as a triggering source.
I know this synth has been around a while, but this update just inspired me to buy one! The 3 oscillator tuning, and the patch-per-key mode are amazing! This what did it for me. Buying now.
Good synth, great update. Respect!
awesome feature
I'm really impressed by the way you guys continue to support this gear. I bought on halloween day at least 5 years ago maybe longer and it's still expanding its abilities. Definatley makes me want to buy other novation gear
I've not got a BS2 I've got a circuit but just thought I'd say Novation are really blowing my mind with their continued support and development of products they released aaaaages ago. You would never see apple of Microsoft do this kind of development that actually makes your initial purchase a whole new machine. Hats off chaps !
Just crazy cool thanks guys
Great demo, thanks!
I don't own a BSII but these updates are really great. Arpeggiating between patches per note and separate glide times are unusual and great!
Great! It would be awesome to have the dame follow up for the ultranova. Hell of a synth too
Brilliant idea!
Thanks guys!!!! :)
Looks like it's time to unbox the ole BSII again!
This is a really smart idea, well done.
that's really cool! makes me want to get my bs2 out and do some tracks again. i'm gonna have to print myself a cheat sheet for all those new features.
So insane ❤️ you guys are the best Novation
🙌🙏❤️
Just got this synth, I really really like it.
Music to our ears! 🙌🙏
Cool idea! I was working on this with software years ago..1 instrument gets more complicated in an interesthing way! Good luck with it.
Novation loves what they do and it shows. Everything they create is among the best in its category and definitely receives amazing support. The question is... What's next?
I love to see them make an actual drum machine similar to the DFAM. More of a percussive synth than a standard drum machine.
amazing! thx AFX and novation
I love everything about this
You always impress with your consistent and powerful updates to existing hardware. Any new stuff in the pipeline for Mono Station? I chose that over the BS2, mostly because I love the Circuit sequencer. The most useful feature to add there would be micro timings to get off the grid.
Thanks for your support. Brett! We don't have any new to share at the moment regarding Circuit Mono Station but we will certainly share your feedback with our dev team.
you rocks totally. What a good collaboration. If you need some UX designer in France here at Bordeaux. I'll be so happy to collaborate. I have on BS2 and i'll enjoy it more and more with all that killer features. Real open up the capabilities of the synth. Thank you so much and being passionate is the most effective way to work and live. Cheers.
Crazy crazy crazy !!!!!
Thank you !!!!
I really hope other companies are taking notes of the whole ‘pack as much as possible into one synth’ trend, that’s why I bought the Dave Smith Pro2 and so many of the Elektron machines. This was a pleasant surprise for my Bass station but need to be the new trend. Analog soul, digital mind 👌🏽
When creating the overlays, do you have to create each key's sound from scratch, or can you assign an existing preset to each key?
that would be dope if you could do that in the editor or something. i can't even wrap my head around everything i just saw, but I'll try to see if I can switch the preset per key later tonight.
Editable Beats were you able to assign presets?
@@editablebeats64 did you ever find out if you could load presets to keys?
Briliant. I am thinking about selling my Subsequent37 and getting a BS2 again. The Subsequent37 is a beautiful instrument, but if I can get a few quid back, have a smaller footprint, an awesome sounding synth in its own right and a lot of the functionality (be it with secondary functions and not with direct accessibility) of the Moog, it's hard to not think about selling it. (But then there's the awesome peak and one shouldn't push one's wallet or one's gas too hard.) Apart from all that: Novation, you rock! Especially for not bringing out new stuff without thinking about the old first. Not only does this save money and material, it also lets your customers know you care about them. Sure, it's gonna be hard developing free updates and not getting out any new products and making money, but with the current mix of new products and updates for old ones I couldn't be more happy with. I kind of regret having sold my Circuit with the ton of updates you made for it, so perhaps I'm gonna get back on a Novation train. It's a pleasant surprise, just like with Behringer, whom I seriously doubted at the beginning but quickly came to admire for their brilliant stuff as well. So keep up the good work and be proud of yourselves! :)
I've always thought the BSII was the little synth that could, and you guys keep proving that. If I could only have one analog mono this would be it.
It's great to hear that you're enjoying Bass Station II, Mark. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us 🙏🙌
This looks brilliant! One question @NovationTV . Can you select patches stored in the unit memory to use inside the overlay table or maybe send them via sysex ?
Very cool - similar to what Elektron have with sound locks on the analog four. Always wondered why more synths didn’t have this feature.
Really great, thank you so much! Developed in cooperation with a living legend, free update and just go on a web page and update firmware from there.. it can't be better! What product from Novation do I buy next?
Wow. Amazing. Thanks Novation! If you do another update, after these already generous ones, would you consider adding a few more slots to the sequencer?
With an external sequencer & AFX mode you can now get even closer sounding tb-303 lines.
Very true. We'd love to hear your creations. Made any tracks/videos of this in action?
Banging stuff!
WHAT THE FUCK DUDE IM SO IMPRESSED BY THE DRUMS!!!
This is pretty staggering - well done team Novation.
All you need to do now is release a Novation pencil and notebook combo so we can write down all the feature instructions.
Thanks, George. Glad you're enjoying this. You can find documentation here: bit.ly/AFXModeHelp
We also have a User Guide for the previous, v2.5 update here: bit.ly/BSII2-5Guide
Yeah. I’m going to buy one :)
this is freakin amazing!!!
thank you novation
Thanks for pushing forward the capabilities of the BS2 again! Question: If I detach the pitch of the sub from OSC1, can I play chords (three different notes at a time)?
Yep, that's right! Just hold Function and use the Coarse and Fine controls to retune the Sub Osc. You can then create Triads.
@@NovationTVWow! Thank you for verifying. I guess my kids will have to get to bed early tonight. I urgently have to upgrade my BS2 😁...
@@lennardauri Sorry, kids! 😅😂
@@NovationTV Will the sub oscillator always play the lowest note in this scenario?
@@lennardauri No, you can certainly tune the sub osc higher than osc 1 & 2.
Amazing update; again! Sequencing in the AFX mode is great fun, and opens up lots of potential to re-think what a monosynth can do. This is such a great synth, even before these firmware updates.. You should really release a BS3 / BS2 Deluxe with a larger keyboard and separate controls for each ADSR. The only issue I have with the synth is having to switch between sets of controls for ADSRs, Noise/Ringmod/Ext, DCO 1/2, PWM, and LFO delay/speed. If those controls were separate, the BS3 would easily be the best premium monosynth on the market.
Thanks for your feedback, Ewan! That's an interesting idea. It's great to hear that you're enjoying v4.14 - it really is a game-changer for Bass Station II.
Exploring the new features now and yes they are great, thanks a lot Novation! I think because of hardware / memory limitations it might be impossible for now, but a very, very useful and quite general addition to the BS2 (or who knows later a new model) would be the ability to save a sequence (or the 4 sequence slots) per program! A couple of months ago, when I just started to use the BS2, I was in a very creative mood, making lots of patches and sequences that where inspired on the new programs that I've made. I assumed that BS2 would link and save those sequences to each program like a moog or DSI synth does (they have at least one seq/patch). But unfortunately a couple of days later, when I wanted to recall some patches and there 'saved' sequences, I realised that I've had been overwriting my sequences on those 4 sequencer slots all the time! I think I'm not the only one who finds the 4 sequences for the whole bass station a little bit limited. But again, it's a great synth and the recent updates make it awesome at an unbeatable price! Keep on the good work guys!!
