Nix Ann, Reduce negative thoughts with a simple practice and have a healthier life. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety. For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back straight, eyes closed, be as still as possible and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight with your thoughts. Slowly the mind will relax. No deep inhalation-exhalation needed. Anytime of the day or night before sleep sit or lie down on your back and observe your breath. Stillness brings internal peace. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Best wishes Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

Hmm. My Neighbour has a yuppie Dog. I never know when it is going to bark and spoil my enjoyment sitting in the Garden.
I dread it barking and it causes me angst. This is obviously a different sort of anxiety to what she refers to So? It tells me that not all anxiety are the same.

Bravo, Sharon. You have explained well how to recognize one's own negative thoughts, and how to flip them into positive, healthy thoughts and feelings. Useful information for all ages.

This is a very good synopsis of a very difficult problem that affects so many teens. Thank you for breaking it down so more of us can be more effective at helping others close to us.
