달콤한 카라멜의 풍미가 좋고 커스터드 푸딩이 올려 있는 플랑 케이크를 만들었어요~
플랑 반죽 위에 쉬폰 케이크 반죽을 부어 구우니 동글동글 귀여운 플랑 케이크가 된 것 같아요~^^
커스터드 푸딩만 구우면 틀에서 꺼낼때 카라멜 시럽이 주르륵 많이 흐르는데 쉬폰 케이크 반죽과 함께 구우니 케이크 반죽이 카라멜 시럽을 흡수해서 많이 흐르지는 않더라구요~
밑에 시트가 있어서 틀에서 잘 안빠질 수 있는데 그럴땐 손으로 시트를 안쪽으로 살짝씩 당기며 테두리를 떼어내면서 꺼내시면 될 것 같아요~
위에 있는 카라멜이 흘러 자연스럽게 그라데이션된 느낌이 좋은 것 같아요~~
보들보들한 푸딩과 폭신한 쉬폰을 함께 먹으니 식감도 재미있고 색다른 케이크인 것 같아요~*^^*

▶틀 사이즈 Mold size : 15cm
▶재료
_ 카라멜 _
설탕 150g
물 85g
_ 플랑 _
달걀 2개
연유 155g
바닐라익스트랙 5g
생크림 190g
우유 90g
_ 쉬폰 케이크 _
달걀노른자 2개
설탕 20g
소금 조금
바닐라익스트랙 2g
우유 35g
식물성 오일 20g
박력분 50g
베이킹파우더 1g
베이킹소다 1g
머랭 (달걀흰자 2개 + 설탕 25g)
▶레시피
1. 냄비에 설탕을 넣고 설탕이 녹을 때까지 저으며 가열하고 불을 끄고 물을 조금씩 넣으며 섞은 뒤 불에 올려 걸쭉한 시럽이 될 때까지 가열한다.
2. 틀에 카라멜 시럽을 붓고 냉장실에서 굳힌다.
3. 달걀을 풀고 연유와 바닐라익스트랙을 넣고 섞은 뒤 생크림과 우유를 넣고 섞는다.
4. 달걀노른자에 설탕, 소금, 바닐라익스트랙을 넣고 섞은 뒤 우유와 식물성 오일을 넣고 섞는다.
5. 박력분, 베이킹파우더, 베이킹소다를 체 쳐 넣고 섞은 뒤 머랭을 나눠 넣고 섞는다.
6. 틀에 플랑 반죽을 체에 걸러 붓고 쉬폰 케이크 반죽을 부은 뒤 뜨거운 물이 담긴 팬에 올려 160도 예열된 오븐에서 90분 정도 굽는다.
7. 실온에서 식힌 뒤 냉장실에서 차갑게 식힌다.
8. 뜨거운 물에 틀을 7~10분 정도 담군 뒤 거꾸로 엎어 틀에서 제거한다.

2 Eggs
155g Condensed milk
5g Vanilla extract
190g Whipping cream
90g Milk
_ Chiffon cake _
2 Egg yolks
20g Sugar
a pinch of Salt
2g Vanilla extract
35g Milk
20g Vegetable oil
50g Cake flour
1g Baking powder
1g Baking soda
Meringue (2 egg whites + 25g sugar)

Just tried this recipe last week and it turned out amazing. The chiffon cake was moist and the flan cake was creamy. Such a great combination!!! All my friends love it and we finished them instantly.
I made some changes to the recipe though. I add 8g of milk, no baking soda and only baked it for 70 minutes (it may depends on your oven). I suggest you use a needle to check on the cake to see if it’s ready. I also used brown sugar for the caramel source instead of white sugar (brown sugar has stronger taste and a bit more bitter so it’s a great balance since the flan and the chiffon cake is already sweet). And make sure to let it chill in the fridge at least 4-6 hours. It tastes better when it’s cold. Happy baking!!! And thanks Cooking Tree for such a great channel

Hi! Sorry to bother you, but maybe you can help me! lol Before baking the cake, Which batter did you pour first in the cake mould? By the vid I'd say I should pour the flan mix first, but I've seen many recepies that say to fill the mould with the cake mix first. I wonder how you did it :o
I poured the flan first. The cake mix will be floating on the flan mix

I baked this cake! I had some problems with the initial step, melting the sugar...I didn’t add the water little by little but all at once and it hardened, so I had to cook it longer to melt it. But overall, the cake was delicious 😋 thank you for another great dessert!
I like this combo idea. I make flan all the time, and never bother with the water. Just use more sugar (about 2/3C for an 8x8, but this looks considerably smaller).

Whenever my Mother made flan, she never puts water in the sugar. She just melts it slowly. :)

I’m Venezuelan and my whole life I’ve called this “quesitorta” since the flan we call it “quesillo” and the mix of both quesillo+torta(cake)= quesitorta 😂

I tired this recipe and it is delicious! For people who prefer less sweetened version, I would suggest add only 130g of condensed milk for the flan, 15g of sugar for the chiffon and 20g for the meringue. And I baked the cake at 160C for 50min with the ring cake cake mould.
This is the perfect cake for tea time....

this is a very smart recipe because usually the caramel flan falls apart when cut... so this is a way to keep it neat and looking beautiful

I baked this cake and it’s absolutely wonderful! I would suggest putting less of the caramel into the pan (maybe 1/3 or 1/2 of the recipe) because it was pretty sweet and made the chiffon cake too soggy when it was turned over. The flan and cake is already adequately sweetened. The first time didn’t work out for me because I was too impatient and only chilled the cake for 2hrs in the fridge. It was still liquidity when i tried to take it out. I listened to the advice of someone in the comments who said to chill it for at least 6hrs. I ended up chilling it overnight and it turned out great! So good!

I made this twice for my family and they loved it!
I can't justify the caramel since I'm not a big fan and reduced the amount down to 1/3 of the original recipe. I also flipped the cake twice before serving so the cake would be on top and wouldn't absorb the caramel. My first flan had trouble firming up, probably because I didn't have the whipping cream (still tasted delicious!). The second time, I used whipping cream and it was fully cook using the recipe's given time. The cake was moist and tasted pretty basic, but it was a lot better when eaten with the flan. Overall, it was not too sweet and tasted just right (without the caramel).
I recommend putting it in the fridge for about at least 6 hours before eating, it tastes a lot better that way.

Tried it yesterday and it taste amazing!!Very different from other cake and not overly sweet😍The only different is my used sponge instead of chiffon cause I think it will be too wet and I added some salt to balance out the sugar ratio.Thank you so much for the recipe❤They are so special and delicious!!
Just made this and its sitting in the fridge cooling! I had about 1/2 cup of the custard liquid and the same of sponge mixture left over as my baking tin was a bit small so I stuck some extra caramel in the bottom of a large ramikin, folded the two mixtures together, poured it over the caramel and baked it separately and ended up with a lovely little spongy dessert..

Absolutely gorgeous. I made this over the weekend and it was delicious. We live at high altitude so I made some adjustments accordingly. The result was that our cake was over cooked as was the flan. It was still very good but next time I'll stick to the recipe as it is with no adjustments. Very simple recipe and the outcome is spectacular. I can't wait to try again so I can achieve the perfection seen in this video.

nad 07 I use large eggs which are around 100g with no shells, it really depends because the egg size can varies a little. But I don’t think the weight of each egg matters 😊

Just tried this recipe! I only baked it for about 70 minutes and unfortunately it was quite overbaked, looks really good though. I think I could have taken it out around 50-60 minutes when I first checked it. The taste is also probably not as great as it would have been if it wasn't overbaked. But otherwise it's a good recipe, straightforward (if you've made flan before) and it actually does work! I was surprised the cake batter just floats on top of the pudding mixture. There was enough batter to fill about 2/3 of a 9 inch round pan and it rose to just past 3/4. I think they use a 7 inch in the video. Will definitely try again but baking for less time and also with less sugar as I found it quite sweet :) ALSO I stupidly used a springform pan so I think a lot of caramel kind of leaked out into the steam bath :')

made this yesterday, i think i burnt the caramel because it came out quite bitter, the cake and flan was lovely though and the bitterness of the caramel is hardly noticeable if you eat the cake cold, so do let it chill for about 3-4 hours at least if you end up burning the caramel a bit. It definitely tastes best when cold!! also i only let it bake for 70 minutes. Overall the cake was awesome

I don't think I've ever seen a flan/cake combo before what an interesting idea. I worry about how well the cake will hold up over time since it's so wet but more of a reason to eat it quickly and not let it sit too long. :D
