that's not true, James doesn't have the range that jake had with his cleans and most of the videos I've seen of jake he was pretty on point with his pitch. doesn't mean I'm saying james is bad by any means, he's still a good vocalist, especially regarding his falsecords. I just don't think he's really worked on accessing those higher registers of his clean voice and learned the technique behind reaching those high notes comfortably and consistently without any strain or push. his voice is a tenor so he's very much capable of approaching those notes. I just don't know how much he's really tried to focus on training that part of his voice. and of course in a live situation, you're never going to perform to your 100 like you can in some studio recordings. but you can get close to it with enough disciplined training.
@@NathanielBTM100% agree man. I absolutely love both James and Jake. Both are absolutely incredible vocalists. I’ve seen Oceans 4 times, Twice with each. Their all some of thee nicest guys You could meet as well, I just happened to enjoy the shows with Jake more, even though all 4 shows rank in my top 15 of the hundreds of shows I’ve been to. Especially seeing videos of the new guy, It makes me miss both James and Jake even more than I already did when Endless Hollow first dropped. I like Endless Hollow, Really like it. But It’s nowhere near the level of anything on Lost Isles, Hikari, or Disparity in my opinion.
@@riku5342seen some clips of Joel live. He can do it all plus more techniques than any previous vocalists OAA has had. I think we are in very good hands. I mean did you peep his huge gutterals in the breakdown ? He can do highs too, just hasn’t showcased em on a track yet
The need a clean singer live or something....ive yet to see a single video where the cleans are remotely good or on pitch...off time and truly embarrassing..im not being a dick im being honest.its the only thing thats held them back. Like dont record it on cd if ya cant even remotely do it live
Thats pretty usual on Core scenes. Singers change, they havent practised or the auto tune was used highly. With these guys its mainly the lack of singing lessons and change in singers. But i get where you're coming from. KSE is still great although not iconic as they were. Same with AILD.
if u refer to hansha, well he didn't record it...that was a different vocalist. there aren't many clean sections in this set as a whole, like someone says above its strange to omit Metamorph. idk why cos its a fuckin tune. but tbh just listen to the recorded album or go see it live, you're stuck in the middle with these kind of videos.
@@XurXito33 Killer screams live, the raw mix was fine with the little bit of cleans here and there. Hansha sounded pretty great live, obv he translates that song his way. Which is totally fine and i wasnt bothered by the not so perfect cleans
Love the band but they honestly need a vocalist that can carry both screams and cleans live. James is great at screams but….not so great at singing live.

James still has the best metalcore scream ever imo
TBH, James Harrison sings the melodic parts still better than Jake in live performance, even tracks from Hikari. At least James sings it in tune.

Btw RIP OAA. Realized that James wasnt on the new track and went digging...
It’s gonna be ok lil bro
@@drnkds i mean its fine, but where's the og screams? Bro basically stays low the whole songs...
@@riku5342 Joel is a very seasoned vocalist. I get the concern but I think he’s going to kill it. Plus the new single rips!
@@drnkds no concerns. Enjoyed TAIM live, they were tight af still. Just want my high screams, nostalgia calls me...

* comments about Chris Turner being a drummer *

So underrated
Thanks so much for uploading this show
Id kill to see them perform a huge show on a small venue like this and a long set 😢❤
10:40 lets go was me, yea baby knew it.
I always wanted to see shallow graves playtrough. But this one is fine
I’m surprised they didn’t play metamorph
They did, just in a separate video since i had to restart filming.
Did they play Plaguebspeech?@@riku5342

Chris the Drummer is next level
Not him sellin the merch right into the best breakdown 😂😂 in all seriousness this was sickk New Dawn and Nova sound soo good live
They are awesome live !
Thanks for sharing! OAA kills it live
how could you make that breakdown-ing bass song in live session, that is sick
Im glad jake is quit
i like jake more
Dude murdered Hikari songs
It’s cool having James back, but they should look into getting a clean vocalist.
He left again 😢
Never heard this band before. Sounds pretty decent.
You will not be disappointed, different level 💯

tell em to hire me
Did you not hear sol? Cleans sounded on point idk what you're talking about

I been saying this for a while but they should have both James and Jake
Chris killing it on drums. The singers absolutely terrible ruined the show.
I can see your opinion but some would say same thing about Bryan from knocked loose. Its different and maybe not for everyone
