Watching this video in 2024 as an adult with children almost makes me emotional…. I remember those days… I wish we could rewind time. Those were the golden days and we never knew it. Hope everyone is doing well in the present.
I’m kind of sick of people criticizing his posture and technique. It clearly works for him, and it’s what’s natural to him. Why would that need to change?
It’s not that it’s “wrong” per say, but he plays in an incredibly tense way, which he’s made work for him, but that’s just going to cause lots of health issues down the road. Perhaps he can handle it better than most, but it will take a toll on him eventually. But regardless he pulls it off so well. Good for him
@@christiangibbs.mp4 The guy also rock climbs and a bunch of other stuff. His body is used to being strained for extended periods of time. While yes it can and probably will cause health issues down the road, to be honest here, what fucking doesn't anymore? At least this won't be to the level that NFL players bodies break down (shouldn't be more realistically).
People say he uses way too much arm. But when you play a full drum set. It just just looks like that. He is actually using wrist strokes. Just pay close attention to his wrists. But Chris is a beast. He also uses the push pull technique.
I got the chance to say to Chris during Warped this year. Super humble dude. He seemed kinda excited when I told him I saw one of the Drummers Annonymous videos of him.
@@stibbs109 He is hitting so hart that he doesn't use triggers live or in studio. Thats why he have to change his cymbal setup after three gigs i think
Next to Cameron Losch, this guy is phenomenal. The technical aspect to his playing is pinpoint. This guy can literally be frozen still like he is and entertain. That’s hard to do.
DrumsAndMetal DrumsAndMetal it’s possible to sit and use your phone with good posture. I’m doing it right now. Most people, however, don’t. This drummer’s neck posture hurts to watch. Sitting with neck constantly angled down like that can be hard on the neck/shoulders/upper back.
Yeah I'm seeing a lot of people saying that he's using "too much" of his arms when, really all he is really using is push and pull, and wrist strokes if you look really closely at the video you can see it
1:51 WTF is the camera panning to during this awesome part GOD DAMMIT lol way to pan away from the awesomeness! but thanks for getting everything else ;)
Everybody talking about him having bad technique clearly are not drummers or they know nothing. His posture is immaculate, he is loose (look at his pecs they jiggle) and ergonomically low cymbals is much better. I almost tore my bicep tendon from playing cymbals high up.
I can’t help but think this great drummer always played on drum kits setup for someone way shorter. And by the time he developed his flow/style it was too late. Great drumming!
The reason they havent given drummer of the year award to chris turner is because its unfair for a foreign species to be in the same competition as humans. Plus he'd just win everytime if he was human
It's the holy china, it looks like a 17 in this video but he uses a 17 and 19 (and one of the new mini ones) in the new recordings. I know that he usually uses a smaller setup for touring
Such an underrated drummer

True ...plus he played some god level shit

@@evangalinsky2499 pretty sure he sits in that position cus he's got some sort of spine issue probably making it uncomfortable to sit normally
If he didn't slump over his head would get burnt on the lights.
3:09 long haired guy is all of us.
😂 true
They look like brothers
Bro I literally said that to myself lmao
The Focus. The Determination. .. . *_THE SOCKS!_* Absolutely awesome to see Chris still pushing the boundaries of metal🤘
One of the best drummers ever.

The new Terminator.

The robot has a heart❤ No, but seriously I met the band a few months ago, and he was so nice and humble.
+tortz You could buy them? I wish I had known that
I've met them twice (as in OAA) and they're great fucking people. one of my favorite bands and Turner is one of my favorite drummers
this is my favorite drum video now i think, Chris you are a beast man
A pleasure to watch such a great player.
He looks like a beginner playing like a pro. So weird xD
Florian Zappe because he is so robotic in his movements
Doesn't look natural
and some drummers today look like pro and play like beginners xD
Patrick Nuernberg exactly. haha
I was trying to put my finger on it but... You hit the nail on the head. That's so accurate. It's all that arm movement. Solid jam though.
he is doing incredible drum pattarn😵 and the super fast pedal, amazing talent
No triggers on the base. Just perfection.
the socks
never been a fan of the band, but he surely got his own thing happening, unique player.
That needed more than a few seconds of the feet cam
Especially for that extended double section
Triggers i think
@@stibbs109 he doesnt use triggers
@@stibbs109 He is hitting so hart that he doesn't use triggers live or in studio. Thats why he have to change his cymbal setup after three gigs i think
@@stibbs109 Why would triggers make a difference except for a different sound out the front and maybe back to him through his in ears or the monitors?
Who sits higher on their drum throne than Chris Turner?! Its metaphorical in of itself
I can't stop watching this
Got this in my recommendations. Don't know this band. Gonna check 'm out. This is some top notch and it's contagious.. wanna hear more
Thanks for watching.
insane drumming 🔥
I like the way he is focused on playing his set thats how a drummer suppose too be
This is absolutely insane............like.......wow
Insane!
this guy is so accurate i love watching him play. Hes got some kind of grudge on that ride cymbal tho. Always looking like he wants to kill it. hahah
This man is special
Where do I go now? What UA-cam video is supposed to compete with this?!? DANG!
when the adderall hits you mid set
Next to Cameron Losch, this guy is phenomenal. The technical aspect to his playing is pinpoint. This guy can literally be frozen still like he is and entertain. That’s hard to do.
You’re right I’ve always had it in the back of my head but couldn’t figure who he reminded me of.
Dude sounds like a drum sampler! Super quick!
I love how a guy with back problems is the drummer for a super technical band. Definitely has the hardest job in the band.
Braden Nielsen what problem does he have?
Juan Martinez must be something with his neck i assume. he keeps it so straight during performances
@@goobingtons You dumb Gen Z fuck it's called having a good posture he probably didn't sit on his phone all day when he was young.
DrumsAndMetal how the hell did this get four likes when you’re being such an ass

His footwork speaks for his playing
This guy is a beast!
Holy china!
2.22 time signature change, flawless.
That part literally gave me chills
Very great drummer !
the way he stares in every video cracks me up. but what a machine
1:40 the running man
Haha xD
this may out of point but his muscle is beautiful lol
You are sick, in a good way. Respect
Beast!!!
esse mano e incrivel
the only reason i listen to this band because of the drum
Dude's foot subdivisions are intimidating.
Freak of nature
He’s on another level!
El mejor baterista de la escena
where the fuuuck were those foot cams in the other ones :(
Beast Machine
His focus is.... Dayum man
I've never seen a drummer sit so high.
He is in the ZONE \,,/
I wish I had him in my band
unreal
Bravissimo
Top 1
It’s his style. Great drummer
Damn so is just that good thats crazy
1:47 And at that very moment the guy in the back is questioning if what he is witnessing is actually real. Lifts sunglasses. 8-0
machine!!!!!
SUPER DRUMMING!=)
Imma keep it 💯 with you, I simply clicked on the thumbnail for a hot guy. And I'm straight.
Well you aren’t straight chief

Low kit for the win. Smush everything as close together as you can
Which Bell does Chris use ? Thanks! :)
pretty sure it’s the sabian ice bell but i’m not too sure
I can’t help but think this great drummer always played on drum kits setup for someone way shorter. And by the time he developed his flow/style it was too late. Great drumming!

What is on the top of the bass drum? he cant stop to look at it
dude his timing and rhythm is abSURD
1:48 black guy in the back lifting up his glasses like "oh damn"
No way I could sit that high and play the rest of the kit comfortably. The dude from Ginjer is basically standing up. Cool shit though, love it🤘
The cymbals are low on both drummers
what's your macros bro?
2:54 look at this shit, chris its a god
Fuck dude's amazing!!;
He doesn't even blink...
Anybody know the name of his China cymbal? I thought it was the Sabian Holy China but I'm not sure.

I had looked it up and found out awhile ago, but thank you for letting me know :)
03:31 When did Ric Flair turn up?

Does anyone know what bell he is using?
It sounds like the Radia Cup Chime, probably the 9" version
sabian ice bell i think
those abs .,...
01:25 peekaboo!!!
THOSE FUCKING KICKS!
Im suprised hes using chain drive coil spring pedals over the much better compression spring pedals with solid linkages
T 800 playing drums, sick! And I'm not even a drummer.
That face expression is so scary but i like it
Just a machinegun bad ass...
как это можно запомнить!?!?!
such a weird set up and style but man he has got some serious pocket
chris Turner is cute
