    Chicago has a penchant for kicking out their absolute best musicians. Ex. Peter Cetera, Danny Seraphine, Bill Champlin, Dwayne Bailey…

      It's all about power, ego and jealousy. It's a shame. The horn players want all the power along with Mr. Lamm

    Bill doesn’t get enough credit for being a keyboard player AND having guitar capabilities! He sang on top of that and he was damn good at it! Such a shame the band treated him so poorly.

    • @lamarravery4094
      @lamarravery4094 Рік тому +3

      They, the core 4 originals, didn't want Bill to get too much of the spotlight like Cetera. Their 19th album propelled Bill as an impact player, he sang on all their top 10 hits from that album.

    • @alwaysimitatedneverduplica4527
      @alwaysimitatedneverduplica4527 Місяць тому +2

      Yeah they didn't want to give him his much deserved credits. But the fact is he sang more Chicago hits than Robert Lamm. Chicago was able to survive and move forward for 3 decades after Terry and Peter left because of Bill Champlin and Jason Scheff. Robert Lamm and the horns people wouldn't just admit it.

      Dawayne Bailey rocks the mid 80s to mid 90s era of Chicago. It's never forgotten. Their trio made of Bill Champlin, Jason Scheff and Dawayne Bailey were a powerful force of music to behold. They brought a different musicality and style, that made Chicago relevant with the times.

    Chicago’s problems with keeping quality musicians like Champlin, Bailey, etc is the constant traveling. Hey more power to them, as the original members are now in their 70’s. I personally would prefer to hear new original music released rather than the same hits played again & again. But... the money is in the touring. Such a shame

There is a segment about his time with Chicago and why he is no longer in the band. The main reason was after touring for decades, the core group was very resistant to change. By change, he means putting classic hits into new arrangements. This is where the core felt threatened.

Know Chicago from when i was little, and Terry Kath is much better. Bailey is off the notes a lot: 5.12 for example. This whole group is just.. Trash. totally agree, Bill is by far the most talented in the band in my opinion, When bailey was in the band; he was, but in my opinion Champlin is ; my point is Champlin can play the fkn guitar, he should be doing this starting in 2009.

      I don't mind at all that Dawayne plays such lengthy lead guitar breaks because this is live and Chicago was known in the earlier years for horns and guitars but as the 80s lead to the 90s I liked to hear more guitar personally!!

    Dawayne Bailey may technically be a very good guitarist, but he was ALL WRONG for Chicago. Shredding is not something that this song...or any Chicago song...needs. The metallic guitar tone and Randy Rhoads imitation is just laughably so inappropriate here. Donnie Dacus and Chris Pinnick both had a better feel for what they were doing in the group than Dewayne did. And don't even mention Terry K.
