I've had the exactly the same D'angelico model, matte color which was only one series from 2017. Had a 6-way switch, which was interesting and the price was way lower. I traded it and later on bought Deluxe Mini DC that has push/pull. Anyway, I just searched ES335 and the first model that came out has a 3-ply maple/poplar/maple ($3500 model), rather than a single piece.
Fun comparison of two awesome semi hollows, Joey! I had a sense of deja vu and had to go look at where I've seen this before and it was the Epi then, not the Gibby. I tend to prefer the tone of any of the Gibson humbucker pickups over most other winders including SDs and that's the case here as well. But the D'Angelico Deluxe DC appointments are pretty nice and I like her horn shape. I guess the idea of the 6 way toggle (a la Freeway) is better than the reality of it, we should just stick with push pulls and a 3 way.
good memory Jimmy! i almost forgot about the epi versus dangelico.. thats been awhile :) ill have to look back myself haha.. that was the cool olive drab one i think..
amazing tones on these 2, both are great options
From all the guitars that I had in my life,
I loved them all.
top tier comment here ;)

thanks Nate!

I am not into coil splitting. They never sound good and I find them useless. The 335 just has a cool factor.
i'm with you man.. the older i get, the more simple i like things to be
Lots of un-wanted noises on the D'Angelico. The 335 sounds much better to me.
6 way switch? What da…
$2,000 for a made in Korea guitar? You must be nuts. Not to mention that the D’Angelico sounds like an empty trash can. No thank you.
hey now.. one of my best friends is an empty trash can..
