    I acquired a 4 yr old Jack Russell rescue dog. On the first day, I told my husband, "Do NOT force your attentions on this dog. When she is ready, she will come to YOU." He didn't listen and she has never warmed up to him, unfortunately. A lot of rescue dogs have abandonment or abuse issues just as humans might. Trust, that is the Key and the foundation for ANY relationship! So be very patient and, in most cases, the appreciation will eventually come from them...

      Dogs are a incredible gift from God, if you can't afford a dog, don't try, it's not fair to the animal. I have always wondered why our many dogs, used to sneak in my room to sleep. I loved the little girl, but she was not my dog. Someone told me female dogs prefer men, due to strength, and security. Don't know if that's true, but we always had a poodle, and a German Shepard. Why are dogs so shy, if you see them after time, they seem almost afraid, put their head down, wag the tail, but seem insecure? Maybe, they barked at you, not recognizing you at first, do they feel guilty? I just love dogs so much, they are so much fun, and oh, what a buddy!😮

    Sometimes we end up with a dog who has the mannerisms of a cat like in my case. She was a rescue dog brindled colored chihuahua. Her name was Candiss and she became my friend because I didn’t force myself on her but allowed her to choose her cuddly moments, wants, and needs. My husband told me that it used to fascinate him how in touch we were with each other when he observed our interactions with each other in our backyard, her favorite place to be. Even the squirrels and crows would respect her presence. She was stealth and would look for my eye contact as if trying to reach me or look into my soul. She was my friend and I miss her dearly and will be ever grateful for the 12 1/2 years of constant companionship she gave me. She contracted Cushing’s disease so we had to put her to sleep December 3, 2019. She will always be “our little girl” who came into our life at the right time❣🙏❤🐾🌈⭐💫

    Echo the point that infirmity can make dogs less sociable, even if they still love you. After my parents' dog had a stroke, affecting mobility and hearing, he spent most of the day away from people, in another room. When I came to visit, on arrival, he would make the effort to get out of his bed and limp over to say 'hello'; which moved me very much. I speculate that occasional sounds from voices or the TV would break through the deafness and startle him.

      @JamboVidz my friend who's a 70 year old woman adopted a Belgian Millonoise who was returned to the shelter 3 times because people couldn't handle her behavior. Within days that 8 yr old dog stuck to her like glue and is extremely attached to her. She loved that dog and that dog adores her. Yes she's a lot of work but the bond is unmistakable. And nowhere in this video does it specify this is only about abused adopted dogs!

    I rescued a dog from Casa Grande 4 years ago. She will never let me get near her. Its a pain in the ass when I am walking down the hallway and I have to turn around. She will not stay in the back room if I am going that way, so when I go that way and turn around she decided to run back to the back bedroom and I almost trip over her every time. Its been 4 years and this still happens. She is NOT ABUSED, so fork off anyone trying to blame me for anything the poor thing is going thru. I think she was kept on a chain outside for the first two years of her life. There is NO WAY she will trust a male. She kind of lets girls near her but they can not pet her either. She is a feral dog that was never shown love and affection for the formative years. There is no hope for her with me, BUT THAT IS THE POINT! I saw her in the shelter and my heart went out for her. She is mine now weather she likes it or not! I do have another dog that I went and rescued for her to play with. That will have to be enough for me. She is happy playing with the other dog. She has a life here that she was never going to get with anyone else. No one was ever going to rescue a feral dog. BUT ME!

After she died, he slowly began to come out. First, it was tentative...he would just sit in our hallway. And then it was like he was free, free, free, at last! After that he never went back into hiding.

    We have a medium sized dog that we got from a rescue when he was ??? Over a year old… not sure…. We have always loved on him, be he doesn’t act like he enjoys it… He doesn’t come running when we get home… he doesn’t follow us around… We love him anyways…. We think either he was a junkyard dog without much puppy human interaction, or he has Autism… I have read that some dogs can get autism… Anyways… we have had him for ten years now… And we finally got another dog, a puppy, who constantly gets in our lap and follows us everywhere… The older dog does occasionally now, but still for not very long…. But I still think he loves us… He just shows it differently than other dogs…

    I don't know if I've ever seen a dog refuse a treat from anyone. I probably have but don't remember it. A dog wagging it's tail may not mean it's happy, like most people think. It means that they're excited. They may very well be excited and happy to see you, but they aren't necessarily happy just because they're wagging their tail. I used to pick my old dog up and put him on the bed because he couldn't jump that high. We would curl up and I'd pet him and scratch his belly. He seemed to really enjoy it, but when I quit petting him he would jump out of bed and lie on the floor next to it all night. I think he got too hot when we were lying there together.

    I honestly don't care if my dog loves me, she's a rescue from shelter and she's more like a wolf than a dog. she never enjoys cuddle and that's fine. I just want her to feel safe and have a place forever, I'll love her no matter how she feels about me. So after watching this video, I realized she actually loved me and didn't love my in-laws lol. I was shocked when she wouldn't take the apple they gave her while I was not around. It's quite funny that she loves food so much but would reject them if given by my in-laws. She wouldn't even let them walk her unless they told her they would bring her to see her "mom". My heart was melted.

    I have this issue with my cat. He's so stand offish and always watching me. He trusts no one, flies into the closet if the doorbell rings. I NEVER had an orange cat that wasn't totally friendly and loveable. But I got him at 6 months and he was like that when I got him. He saw me and flew behind their couch. He's 3 now and we're attached but he is not a cuddle cat, nor does he make biscuits, EVER. He wasn't socialized in his first few weeks, and I think his siblings dominated him. And his basic temperament is insecure and shy. But he's still my boy.

Sometimes she wants me to pet her and will bark until i do, other times she moves away from me. None of that dictates wherher she loves me or not. My recommendation is trust your heart and ignore this stupid video. You know when you love your dog they are loving you back a hundred fold over. The most important thing to give your dog is love. I always offer my hand for dogs to sniff as an initial greeting. In DogLand, that's the polite thing to do. It needs to be slow, though. You don't want to quickly shove your hand in a dog's face, especially little snappy ones. The little ones prefer that you go down on your haunches and let them come to you, if they choose. If your hand smells of dogs treats, that will make a difference.
    Also, other people's dogs pay close attention to how their human feels about you. If there's conflict or tension, they will feel it. If there's good vibes, they'll notice that too.

  • @Texas240
    @Texas240 Місяць тому +6

    Out of the 1st 4, only 1 is sort of valid. I'm giving up on the vid at this point and giving the poor ai channel a do not recommend award.
    Dogs sleep in various positions based on what's comfortable at a given time and place. You can see "uncomfortable with you" positions if that just happens to be comfortable to the dog.
    Dogs may leave when you enter a room out of deference. Despite "modern" positivity trainers shunning anything to do with pack or animal social hierarchy dynamics, dogs have certain instincts and may leave the area you're in as a sign of deference, giving you the run of that area uncontested. Or, they may be looking for a toy in another room that they want to bring play with you.
    Dogs may gravitate towards other people because they view those people as equals while they view their main person as the boss, higher in the social hierarchy.
    Ignoring commands is often due to the owner not properly, specifically teaching what the command means and then consistently enforcing the command. It's very easy to train a dog to NOT obey commands they do know by repeating commands multiple times and by allowing the dog to not obey EVERY time or putting the dog in a position where it's not possible for the dog to do what was asked. And, that's without even getting into breeds that are stubborn.

She is very loving but is also quite obstinate she may or may not follow commands. She will not take food or treats from anyone but my husband or me.

    lol This is all true, but there are many exceptions. Lack of eye contact can mean your pup wasn't trained that it's OK to look at you. Lack of eye contact can mean your dog is submissive and/or think that's their normal inter-dog challenge. It can take some training; make sure he makes eye contact during feeding, maybe using hand feeding the first month the pup comes home. It's not uncommon for dogs (especially when young) to want to greet everyone. So, if they have a good relation to you, they can still think everyone (and other dogs) are someone great to meet. On ignoring commands, some dogs will get stubborn about certain commands, especially those that make them vulnerable (down, play dead, or belly exposed) while doing other tricks. This is especially true when they are in their "teen age" period. In social situations, such as dog training sessions w/ distractions this can be quite normal. This can be when blowing on an ear or snapping fingers near them, or the "watch me" command can help. Enhanced treats (if yours is a treat oriented dog) can help but use those only for social occasions or they become "normal" treats. (Not all dogs are motivated by treats so try to train when the pup is hungry and/or watch you aren't overfeeding your pup.) Dogs seem to master independence. They'll often ignore commands in a social context. For the tail wag direction, check if your pup is left or right footed. It also depends on the dog and their tail. One of my dogs has a cropped tail. Sometimes it wags energetically, often it's still or wags like it's totally mechanical (slow, with pauses). This is the most suck up dog of my pack.

    I have a 3 yr old rescued Jack Russell. He has NO tail. Not even a nub, so I sometimes wonder if he is happy to see me. He does wiggle up my leg and seems to smile at me and then takes off. I'm hoping that's a happy hello.

    This is pretty reassuring because my dog doesn't do any of these (except ignore my commands when he's outside chasing a cat!) It feels good to have the cutest little furball love me as much as he does!! Eating all the treats, readily obeying commands to get said treats, wagging his tail furiously when I come home from literally anywhere, and following me all around (ok, that part is kind of annoying, but I wouldn't change a thing) He's so loving some of his mannerisms even rubbed off on my aloof cat, who now follows me around and regularly (and a bit aggressively) seeks out affection

    Dogs are a incredible gift from God. Just think of the service and loyalty all for your love. Maybe I am so gratefull due to a German Shepard, saved my life, long story, there is no doubt. My mother and I when I was in first grade, had a intruder break in. Geronimo made short work of this jerk, he kept going for the jugular vein. It ended with the guy in a ambulance Geronimo got a T bone steak. YOU DONT MESS WITH A GERMAN SHEPARD, A LARGE ONE ESPECIALLY.

    There's some points in this vid that isn't quite accurate...my dog is 19yrs old so he's not necessarily ignoring me so much as having age affect his hearing. Also, he doesnt eat traditional off-the-shelf "dog treats" no matter who gives it to him because i've raised him on an organic diet where he eats real chicken & turkey meat from the market daily. So, if you're not feeding him real meat, he won't touch it. He doesn't like peanut butter either lol!

    What a horrible video. Dogs love their owner. Even when the people are abusive, unfortunately and these people need to go to hell don't get me wrong, but dogs have unconditional love for their owners, period. So ueah they may get irritated with you or not like everything you do and theres always room for improvement, but to say your dog doesn't love you is just horrendous and a horrible name for this video. Especially when your dog is your world like mine is and you do everything you can to make their life good, to even think your dog may not love you is just heartbreaking and very wrong! They have UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, point blank period!

    • @JamboVidz

    • @chrystalmcatee6224
      @chrystalmcatee6224 Місяць тому

      @JamboVidz I've seen the exact opposite! Once they are shown love for even a short amount of time they show love back. And I'm not saying they aren't apprehensive and I'm not saying each one every time but I'm not using blanket statements like the person does in this video either. They call these animals mans best friend for a reason! Dogs love unconditionally, those are the facts! Doesn't mean they're perfect by any means or that they don't have their issues but the topic of this video says that basically people misinterpret what they feel is love from their dogs. A shelter dog whose been abused isn't going to give you signs that you misinterpret. If they are having problems, you're gonna know it!
