The Heresy that Caused the Current Cultural Defeat of the Western Church.
The last hundred years, says John Alley, have seen the spiritual demise of the nations that constitute the West. These nations were formerly based in Christianity but in more recent times have become culturally polluted and corrupted. The remaining nations of the world, on the other hand, have seen a burgeoning growth of Christianity.
John links the current condition of the West to the rise of the doctrine of dispensationalist. With the growth in popularity of this doctrine a large percentage of Christians changed what they believed and chose instead a very pessimistic view regarding end times and the ultimate outcome for the Church. A a result, says John, the Western Church has become emasculated, materialistic and increasingly self-centred. John goes on to explain the nature of the true Israel, the law and the consequences of wrong beliefs. This message will provoke serious thinking on the part of the listeners as well as hope for the future.

I used to believe this when I first became a Christian. But the more I studied church history I realized it was off. It was systematized by one man in the mid 1800s (John Darby) and then spread throughout the evangelical churches by the Scofield study bible. Hard to believe Christian leaders would so readily adopt a brand new theology without first critically examining it and investigating its origins! Just shows how easily swayed we can be by a charismatic leader selling his new doctrine to the naive.

This is a blessing. I"ve been a Christian just about 40 years. All my pastors have been dispensationalist. When I would pray for my Country, ( America ), I thought, what"s the use, Jesus is coming and we will be raptured and He say"s all these evil things are gonna happen anyway. I was looking forward to getting out of here because things are only gonna get worst. Well, the Lord has been opening my eye"s to all this. I share it with family and Christian friends and they accuse me of being back slidden and preaching false doctrine. The American Church has been heavily indoctrinated , totally brainwashed. Hard to find an Orthodox doctrinal Church in my area.I believe this dispensational doctrine is the fuel for wars around the globe. The blood of innocence are on our hands. I"m trying to learn how to read and interpret scripture the way it"s been taught for 1800 years before Scolfield. It"s not easy.

I was "saved" back in 1999 thru "End Times" witnessing - I became enamored w/ it. We were going into the Year 2000 and my whole life I've heard about the "end of the world" so it was intriguing. I learned so much and obtained all this knowledge but as I continued to Read the Bible I would say to myself "that's a reach" or "that has nothing to do w/ nuclear war" etc. Then I became curious about the KINGDOM b/c that's what Jesus preached about....years I spent w/ such a negative view of everything and the world. It crippled me - I feel alive again. The Truth Will Set You Free!

What an excellent presentation on the damaging ramifications of dispensationalism in the last 2 centuries.

I may not hand out words like heresy, but I do know bitter fruit when I see it. When Israeli rabbis create false time lines to try and "prove" Jesus Christ wasn't the Messiah; it is very bitter indeed. This should make all good Christians pause and reflect upon dispensationalism.

He is correct on one thing. The body of christ was not prophesied. I could add that salvation now comes directly to the gentiles and paul claiming we Do live in a dispensation!

Among those who self-label as evangelical, dispensationalism is not mere a large minority, but an actual majority, at least here in the U.S.

When I got saved, I read the New Testament, then read the whole Bible all the way through in order.

Dispensationalism is a complete abomination. Instead of 'a pure and simple devotion to Christ,' we get 'a warlike and obsessive devotion to Israel.'

Absolutely on point, glad to have found a likeminded believers channel, especially one w/ correct exegetical eschatology & giving mind to historical context. Theology & doctrines matter

For a preacher who "didn't have enough time to preach" his full sermon, you certaintly said a lot.

This message has proved literally life changing for me since I first heard it back when it was first taught. I pray the mess caused by dispensationalism is cleaned up... "if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand."

Odd. I lost sound when the dispensationalism was spoken. Any ideas why? Is it my internet?

Thanks for that. I was brought up in a brethren family who believe this dispensationalism. There was no good news in it. Everything taught was very negative to my childhood ears. I had a great fear of being left behind, when my parents would be raptured. As a young man I was in deep confusion, and to some extent still am. I have been blessed many times though, with the beautiful presence of the supernatural love emanating from the Father and Son. This is the only peace I’ve experienced. In these moments I never felt the fear of dispensatioalism, in fact these doctrines vanished. For when God is in the house all is well. Thanks

I so appreciate this video showing up on my feed today! For as long as I can remember, I remember loving God❣️I did not grow up in a Christian home, but I did grow up in a precious rural, Southern Baptist Church. I wouldn’t take for my spiritual heritage because it gave me a great love for the Word of God. Dispensational teaching is all I’ve ever heard (until recently). But I have NEVER been drawn to “end time teaching”. It has seemed to me to promote a lazy, escapism mentality. I’ve long said I’m a “pan” trib because the only thing I have believed about it so far is that it will all pan out in the end!!! I have tasted and seen the Lord is good, so I’ve never worried about these “alarming” teachings. Nevertheless I am grateful to be now learning otherwise 🙌🏼

Wonderfully explicit teaching. How necessary and critical, that deceived believers listen to this. God freed me from the RANK HERESY of the dispensationalists. He'll do the same for anyone who asks. This sermon is best listened to on several occasions to let Christ's truth sink in like a reviving medication for damaged spirits worldwide. Pastor John states that being a regular reader of the Bible will help to free us from these lies - this is so true, it certainly started a clean up in me.
