Not only did Prince write the song.. he sent them an instrumental and told them all you have to do is sing over it... and the Bangles were like "Nah.. we'll do our own version".
One of the BEST compliments I ever received was being told I look like Susanna Hoff (sp). Now that was my senior year of high school-so we won’t discuss how long ago that was! 😬. 💛❤️✌️✨
Manic Monday is one of my all time favorite songs... I'm 18 so I get quite a few looks when people realize I memorized this song by heart but I don't even care this piece is just I don't know it just does something to me. I'm so happy you made a reaction video to this I love seeing other people react to such amazing songs. I feel that more people need to discover this song. Sorry this comment is super long I forgot how much I was typing😂😂 anywho you've got a new subscriber!😁😁
@@calme-dx2dp omg yes i love that song . Prince wrote alot of songs for other artist besides himself. Huge Prince fan. Saw Prince in concert in toronto canada way back. Boy got skills and what show. Rip sadly missed

Prince wrote the song but he gave it to the Bangles because he wanted to smash Susannah Hoffs, the lead singer. He tossed her a cassette with the demo on it and said ""Here's a hit!" I don't know if he ever got with her but that was a boss move he did!
I've just gotta say this.. I've been unsubscribing to some reaction channels bc they don't do anyone's requests and you can tell their fake people.. YOU ON THE OTHER HAND.. You are HILARIOUS, SWEET, PURE AND REAL!! I could NEVER stop loving your channel!! Love you Mr Video!! Keep on keeping on!! Love from Philly!! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
The singer is Susanna Hoffs. If you like this, you should check out a song called Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves. It's really fantastic, just like your channel, Mr. V.
I guess there is some crossover cause “Going down to Liverpool” was an early hit for bangles that was written by Kimberly Rew of KATW. It had a great funny video too.
Love ur reactions as always and it's super nice to see u doin a female artist. As always thanks for the lightheartedness always putting a smile on my face. Ur the best.
Hey you could make a Monday playlist of your reactions to this song, "I Don't like Mondays" by Boomtown Rats, "Monday Monday" by The Mamas and the Papas, "Rainy Days and Mondays" by The Carpenters, etc.
I love the Bangles. Definitely 80s. That hair, those clothes, that style of music. 80s girl bands. Try the Go-go's. They are very good as well. "Our Lips are Sealed" is a good one. Also, lease check out "Sade". She is wonderful. "Smooth Operator".
It takes all of one second to fall in severe like with Hoffs. Ever notice that Susanna seldom looks at the camera in both this video and Walk Like An Egyptian? It's probably illegal in several states for her to make eye contact.
Oh gosh this was so me in the 80s. Dreamy and always late for work! In the 80s... clothes were everything. Shoes in every color and oh then hair and makeup. That look was all you had in the 80s. Girls having fun! Yes... manic, everyday. That’s what the calendar meant at the end of video. Every day is manic Monday.
With our a doubt a damn good looking woman. But I do remember that she always struck me as being very shallow and not very intelligent. Apartf from that her vocal range was very pleasant but clearly limited.
I loved this song as a kid however when our school out a talent show on I had convinced a couple of my friends to do it with me, I worked hard on making most of the props and we did the song Walk Like an Egyptian, I made a costume like Queen Nefertiti and King Tut had a whole Egyptian thing going on and we won first place. ( Ha who ever thought when I got older I would have two kids that have Egyptian in them )With the money we won I used it for donations to help pay for the neighborhood kids who's parents couldn't afford to pay for summer time at the local boys and girls club after my adopted Daddy and some of his friends heard what I was planning to do they dipped in their pockets and there annual banquet fundraiser went towards it, so I was happy to inform the kids that they got to go for 2 full summers which helped because meals and snacks was included. It meant Alot to me to have my friends with me cause where I came from we had a medium where it separated the not so good side and the high class and it sucked I didn't like it cause as a child my adopted Daddy always taught me friendship and love shows No Color or knows No Money and it was very important to me. However though some of the parents THOUGHT I lost my mind because if where our local boys and girls club was located at because up and down the whole was gang territory and in a small town where they had their own rules and that didn't bother me cause I had already had a plan for us kids to be able to walk through after we got off the bus stop because it was about a 10 minute walk from the bus stop, all year long I took donations and when we was ready to go all us kids put grocery bags together and handed out groceries to everyone whether they needed it or not cause somebody was always in need of food and that's how I made my peace offering with the people in that town and soon it was alright for us to walk down the street with no problems, so we held talent shows there at the boys and girls club to keep up doing it. Kind of wish for a bit of moment that things back then can be used towards now.. Sorry just wanted to share that since I seen you did a reaction to the Bangels. May everyone have food clothes shelter and medical. Stay safe and healthy God bless.
If you likey, check out In Your Room. Haha. 😉 Bangles are one of the most talented female bands around. They always incorporate beautiful harmonies. All four sang lead, including the drummer, but Susanna Hoffs probably sang lead the most. Some other great choices are Hazy Shade of Winter and Hero Takes a Fall. Just for $hits and giggles probably should react to Walk Like an Egyptian too. 😬
All these girls were my first love. I was I was a young black kid in the hood listening to everything bangles. I spent my allowance on every magazine they were in and brought every record.
Aww. That actually is a cool story, bro. Man, I was into magazines back then, too. I was just thinking how the 80’s had two all female rock bands, but none since. Miss the 80’s 😔
Omg THE BANGLES! I loved these! Hazy Shade of Winter!! The struggle to get rich is half the fun - once you got it it’s like right what’s next? Hey she can’t be 61 - google her - she looks 45 or something?
Incredible Memory Flashback! This was released when I was in the last semester of my senior year (high school). It reminds me of going to my Senior Prom. That was on May 3, 1986. Yes, I still remember the date. The Space Shuttle Challenger explosion occurred 1 day before my 18th birthday.
That, and the fact that this song is the worst earwig song I've ever heard. No matter if u like it or not, u will sing it for 2 dang days after each time u hear it!!!!!!

I wondered why Prince would write "trying to figure out what I'm gonna wear".He would wear a frilly blouse and a purple jacket like always.
@Jack Bauer they didnt write the music themselves though.
it was an unreleased Apollonia 6 song that he gave to suzannah hoffs . i guess he liked her better lol
Another great song written by Prince 👑
The singer Susanna Hoff's is 60 years old and is just as beautiful today as she was in the video...
Yeah back when i was a small kid in the 80's that woman made me feel things that i didnt understand...then i hit puberty and it all became clear : P
Is she 60 already? Holy crap that is insane! I just saw a photo of her from a couple of months ago and she looks just as hot as in the video!

that's not her singing tho? I believe it's Debbi?

Eternal flame 🔥

Love love love their cover of Hazy Shade of Winter, but Eternal Flame *just* edges it out imo.
@ShariSez1 no doubt good but i was really just reffering to my favorite Bangels song..
@@noracola5285 It's a tough call, and you can not go wrong with either.
You can almost hear Prince singing the words, as he wrote the song. He supported a lot of artists coming up in his day.
Quick bit of trivia: Prince wrote this for The Bangles because he loved the band. (Possibly dated Susannah Hoffs for a minute too)
Susannah has always denied any relationship with prince.
@@outwest1014 Still do not mean something did not happen
Quintin Johnson From what the band said, he kinda freaked her out.
He also played keyboards for Stevie Nicks on her songs "Stand Back" and "If Anyone Falls"
