Woah!! The progress on this game is bizzare- I’m glad that this game has grown- And now soon, the grown up pups can now greet you! This game is so cute.
I feel like this feature should be added: once a pup disperses, there is a chance to meet your pups again, and they can remember you (either be happy to see you again or treating you as a stranger) or not (treating you as a stranger wolf)
I agree but also adding cause this is something actually seem I'm yellowstone wolves adult wolves that dispersed and are actively part of a rival pack but are visiting their parents pack cause like I said there are cases of this is yellowstone where they were even allowed in the den to see the new puppies of that year
@@oonetsaellis6235 You're right and this is the sad truth of it. Wolves will kill their adult offspring, parents, siblings, etc if they come across each other and are not actively in a pack together. Wolves don't function like humans do when their children "move out"

Now I’m even more hype for the saga! Seeing the yearling pups with the small pups made me smile finally seeing that in game. Then the fact that they build relationships with each other and have their favorites in the packs just makes it so much more realistic. Seeing how the pack interact with dominance and submissive logic now is just shocking to me. I honestly didn’t expect you guys to get to that level of detail. That and the fact the pack greets you upon your return is just awesome. I really can’t wait for saga!
Lol, that puppy floating from 0:52 to 1:05 I know it will get fixed eventually. Love seeing the social interactions! It's so cute and amazing. I can only imagine the relief you would feel on that second litter and having more eyes to protect the pups. (Floating pup near the top of the screen and the left)
Please do another Q&A about the saga. When will pups stop being considered lost when they wonder? Will yearlings fight amongst themselves? Will yearlings howl at found carcasses? Will their howl mark it on the map? Can we expect more DLC beyond Hellroaring Mountains? What will be the maximum pack size in single player not including pups? How will they be displayed on the UI?
I'm late to this but I can offer a few suggestions based on what I've gathered watching (nearly) every devblog and watching the comments. Stop being lost> Likely when they reach 6 months and leave the rendezvous site. Yearlings fight> I feel highly confident giving this one a definitive "No." Wolf pack in-fighting has been known to be extremely rare for many decades now. As noted in this video, misunderstandings and even conflicts can still happen, but they'll be settled - much like in real life - with nothing more intense than growling and possibly some mouthing and non-serious biting/wrestling. It would be really cool to actually watch your adult and yearling packmates wrestle like pups do, but I don't think this behavior is a priority with the team. We'll likely only see interactions like we see in this video upon Saga's release. Yearlings howl> I don't think the functionality exists for NPC wolves to mark carcasses with howls. We have our mates already, and they are more than capable of hunting and bringing down their own prey depending on personality. My Yukiko routinely comes home with a full belly from prey that never appeared on my map. That said, it'd be a nice feature to have in general, much as like in multiplayer when one wolf howls a carcass all players can see it. DLC> Definitely. We have Tower Fall, which was tabled to prevent confusion due to its original ties to Episode 3, before Saga was announced. With Saga as of this typing potentially releasing THIS YEAR, we could easily see Tower Fall premiering either this year or next year. I'm leaning next year though, as progress has halted completely while the team is - as of typing at least - all paws on deck for Saga itself. We also have promised coat packs and potentially other map ideas. I want to say that he mentioned another free map, but I'd need to pour through other devblogs to be sure. I'm personally expecting our next DLC to be a coat pack though, as those aren't nearly as difficult for the team to create as these massive maps. Maximum Size> Dave did explicitly say that there will be a maximum pack size, but has not said what it is. Probably because he doesn't actually know! This will likely be one of those knobs that Dave and his team fibble and fiddle with over the course of the game's progress, if the progress of Persistent Packs is any hint. He did explicitly say in the most recent devblog that the number will be smaller than 20. Given this game's dedication to realism, I'm expecting a number rooted in real life averages. A ninja-search on my part while writing this yields high-end numbers ranging from 8 to 15. This in mind, along with the foresight of the most recent devblog saying that they are going to cap the maximum number of surviving pups from each litter in service of this cap, tells me to expect the lower end of this spread. Therefore, I'm expecting between 8-12 - likely inclusive of yearlings, may be inclusive of Young Hunters and older.
I can’t wait to see some winter saga dev vids! Knowing the pups will have to be out and about with us and the yearlings more often means it’s when the pack is usually at its largest away from dens. Can’t wait! Looking awesome. Also can’t wait for Hellroaring Mountain!! 🎉
I have been playing wolf quest for about two years and before I begged my dad to get it for me, I watched people play the game and dreamed about playing one day! I am so excited for the saga and can’t wait for the yearlings so that they can help with the pups and it will just be so fun! Thank you to the team who made this possible!
I think I say this every time, but I LOVE seeing these little snippets into the inner workings of the game. It's stuff that you might not super notice at first when playing, so seeing it broken down like this is so cool, and just knowing that there are things going on behind the scenes that the players never see. It's just so flippin' cool!
I think you've mentioned before that you don't want Wolfquest to be like The Sims for example where you can command another wolf and they'll do Exactly what you want and stuff, but for curiosity's sake- Will there be a way to "invite" certain yearlings and stuff to join you on your hunting excursions? (Even if they don't necessarily say yes?) Will there be different emotes if so for inviting a pup vs your mate, or is it more just a targetted action? What about sending your pups back home? Same concept? I'm sure it's going to be hectic having so many pups to track between your yearlings and little ones haha so I'm super curious what kind of tools the player might be given to try and keep things organized - Or if the yearlings are essentially wildcards who do as they please

My question is, do every wolf disperse or do some stay until they feel more comfortable. The family tree will be interesting for playable wolves. Maybe we only can play them when they decided to leave the pack. I’d love if some less confident wolves stayed for a few years 🤔
I just watched a video of a wolf pup being a bit unruly with its mother, and now you're saying something similar could happen in my future game? Amazing! Awesome work. I can't wait to mess around with pups and yearlings in the hopefully near future!
Just saw the notification and I am so excited Wolfquest has posted again! The developers are amazing 😃 The saga will be so fun to play when it comes out!
I say this yet again, and i could say this for years, Wolfquest is one of those games where you just never get bored of it, its clear that you all put so much love and care into every little detail and aspect of this lovely game, while I have not played it the longest of course, I do know this community has been around for a GOOD long while, the effort to keep that kind of consistency is just.. incredible to me, and so many others I'm sure. I am excited for what awaits WolfQuest's future! The saga looks amazing!!
The ideas this team creates blows me away everything. I love the diversity that is being added into the game. An idea so the player can be realistic themselves: maybe add a description for each emote either in the emote panel or in the how to play settings bar!

Oh boy, there's always a great feeling of joy when I see you guys post. Looking forward to the saga and all future updates! Keep up the amazing work guys!
I'm SO excited over the fact the NPC can develop friendships or enemies now. They can actually build relationships with other and not just be interested in you (The player). It adds so much more depth to the game!!
Honestly man. These developers deserve everything they want man. These guys making a game that people love & they make the game give awareness to wolves and how hard their lives are. Love these guys/gals and this game fr ❤️
Wow that is such a cool new update! I love how realistic the pack dynamic is getting! I wonder if there will be the possibility for "in-pack-fights", if yearlings get overly dominant and aggressive. That would mean that they could attack us or other yearlings and we could fight back (not a fight on life or death, though - not losing any health points there). Maybe we would be able to drive them out of the pack (after a few fight encounters) and they'd be roaming around as dispersals afterwards.
No, you can't harm your packmates. While this can happen in real wolf packs, human players often don't behave like wolves and this would really change the game dynamics, especially in multiplayer, so we aren't planning on adding that.
This is so awesome! I've always wanted to see more interactions between the pups and the adults. Can't wait to see how my pups interaction with my older pups when the saga comes out!
I physically jolted when I heard the fondness feature coming to singleplayer I was hoping for this ever since multiplayer was released because it was so much fun! I'm so excited for all the things mentioned in this - it will make the pack life feel so much more dynamic and... well, like a family Thank you so much for all your hard work ❤
RAAHHH INTERACTION SYSTEMS!!! A game I play often that's about primates lacks an interaction system, so I'm really happy to see this system in wolf quest! The family dynamics and communication is so important!
Ahhh! This is amazing and very clever to make the pack have a variety of things for the player to watch and experience! I'll be looking for the exciting updates!! ❤🐺
Omg that's so so cool!! I can't wait for this to make it into the main game because it's amazing and I love the hard work you've done for this game and can't wait to hear more! Keep working hard!!😍🥺
I've been playing the Wolf Quest series since I was 13, I'm 22 now. I just love what you do! I love what you do and keep it up! I am very much looking forward to the release of everything you are developing! I hope to get it by the end of winter for my birthday :3🤩🥰
Cheering for all the developers who are working on the game to make it better and better. Honestly, this game has much more potential than a lot of big games out there. ( Yes, the isle.. im talking about YOU. The isle imo doesnt have much potential and is endlessly flawed.) Just know, the wolfquest community is here to support you.
We’ve really come a far way from having circles on the map determining if we run into a wolf or not.. one who just spawns 7 seconds away from you and has basic interactions and 2002 style fights. This game has come a CRAZY far way and I love every bit of it
Finally got my hands on a steam deck, i’ve waited so many years to play the anniversary edition! Now that I finally have it, it’s honestly mind blowing how much effort everyone has put into the game over the years!
Wolf Quest team! i thought of a very interesting idea that could possibly be implemented into the game. As we all know, there are dispersals during winter, spring, and summer, and my idea is that at a certain point in time, if you've taken too much time to find a mate in fall, you have to look in winter or in a later season. The time you have until it changes to the next season would vary on the difficulty level, as if it was easy or challenging, you'd have longer time to find a mate, but in accurate you'd have less time or less dispersals to work with. Just thought it was an interesting idea, and it's a pretty realistic one as well.
1 hour ago!? This game has grown so much over the years. The fact to go back to 2.5 is crazy difference no matter what kind. I love WolfQuest so much! Its the best game currently. Love the game and community ❤
It's so astounding to see how much the WolfQuest team thinks about what a player would want, and just how many ideas they put into their game to make it more realistic! I was curious though, about if we're ever going to get to have aging in WQ multiplayer or at least family snapshots for the pups when in multiplayer?
I remember seeing this when it first started (the AE version) and being so excited. I'm so happy I made my way back. I honestly can't wait for new updates (This time i can't forget, got thoese notifications coming in XD).

I'm late to this but I can offer a few suggestions based on what I've gathered watching (nearly) every devblog and watching the comments.
Stop being lost>
Likely when they reach 6 months and leave the rendezvous site.
Yearlings fight>
I feel highly confident giving this one a definitive "No."
Wolf pack in-fighting has been known to be extremely rare for many decades now.
Yearlings howl>
I don't think the functionality exists for NPC wolves to mark carcasses with howls.

I love how you always show us how all the new systems actually work! I really appreciate how much effort and thought is being put into making the game as immersive and realistic as it can possibly be!
Oh boy, there's always a great feeling of joy when I see you guys post. Looking forward to the saga and all future updates! Keep up the amazing work guys!
I have a feeling the update is close. The fact we're getting so many videos about it is getting my excitement up
Not close, but we will share our progress as we go.
I'm SO excited over the fact the NPC can develop friendships or enemies now. They can actually build relationships with other and not just be interested in you (The player). It adds so much more depth to the game!!
These dynamics are amazing! Think of all the extra add-ons to personalities etc
Honestly man. These developers deserve everything they want man. These guys making a game that people love & they make the game give awareness to wolves and how hard their lives are. Love these guys/gals and this game fr ❤️
This game just keeps on getting better and better ❤️ thanks for the great work y'all are doing
The floating child at 1:03 omg
There is always that one pup...
Which ones floating? I don’t think I can see it
the one towards the back, you can see their legs in the air@@shanellemurrey9300
@@shanellemurrey9300it's near the top left corner
@@shanellemurrey9300From 0:58 to 1:03 there is a floating pup in the sky on the up and slightly left on the screen
Gosh I can’t wait for Saga, every update just makes it more exciting!
This is so awesome! I've always wanted to see more interactions between the pups and the adults. Can't wait to see how my pups interaction with my older pups when the saga comes out!
0:56 the floating pup got me 🤣
Merry Christmas wolf quest team. Thank you for all your hard work on this amazing game ❤❤
Every little bit of progress makes so excited, every time
Aww fondness and best friends amongst the pack.. Ive always imagined that this existed and now its a real thing to keep track of ❤❤❤ lovely
Seeing non aggressive adult wolves around player wolf is so weird to me, this is gonna be so good fr
I physically jolted when I heard the fondness feature coming to singleplayer
I was hoping for this ever since multiplayer was released because it was so much fun!
I'm so excited for all the things mentioned in this - it will make the pack life feel so much more dynamic and... well, like a family
Thank you so much for all your hard work ❤
RAAHHH INTERACTION SYSTEMS!!! A game I play often that's about primates lacks an interaction system, so I'm really happy to see this system in wolf quest! The family dynamics and communication is so important!
I’m super excited for this to come out!! This has been such a good development from the old game!
I really can’t believe it’s getting closer to happening
Omg the little hopping of the older wolf playing with the puppy was the cutest thing everrrr 😭
This definitely answer some questions i had. The fact that they will run up to you is so sweat! I have other questions
You guys have no idea how significant the game has been in my life. Much love ❤
I dont think ive ever been so excited for something AAAAAA
I can’t wait for the full game to be completed
We’ve really come a far way from having circles on the map determining if we run into a wolf or not.. one who just spawns 7 seconds away from you and has basic interactions and 2002 style fights. This game has come a CRAZY far way and I love every bit of it
Finally got my hands on a steam deck, i’ve waited so many years to play the anniversary edition! Now that I finally have it, it’s honestly mind blowing how much effort everyone has put into the game over the years!
This looks amazing! Good work as always!!!
Was hoping for more on xmas but no matter, love ya’ll 😘
I cannot wait for the next update omg. Keep up the amazing work, team!
I'm so excited I might just explode the day saga comes out
Nice :D Can't wait to see it in-game working! :)
This is gonna be so cool, I look forward to every update!
