    This is a nice classic looking timepiece, thanks for letting everyone know !

    I really like the look of this piece. Came across it for the first time just now as I was browsing ebay. Immediately caught my eye. But it was a good thing I found your useful and thorough review. I would have been disappointed had I bought this and found out after that I could not change out the bracelet (which does look pretty nice). I thought the lack of lume gave this watch a bit of dressiness, which could have been enhanced with a leather strap. But having no lume AND no ability use other straps is a bit of a let down. Still, at the right price, this is an attractive watch I'll consider.

      Glad I could help. It was definitely disappointing to me that the bracelet couldn't be changed. There are older versions with different dials that have removable bracelets but not this textured one. Maybe look at something like the sbtm213 similar models.

    Well done review, I have been eyeing this watch for a while, its so close to being the perfect do it all watch. Btw Seiko will be releasing the Sbtm341, it's basically this watch but without some of its shortcomings, added lume, doesn't appear to have an Integrated bracelet, same textured dial and cleaner design without all the text.

      I hadn't seen that new model. It looks great but I wonder if the colour of the dial will be different. The stock photos make the dial look a bit green whereas the sagz has a more purple colour

    Nice watch. I have eyes on sbtm 217 tho 😉

  • @impact0r

    Nice, very nice. But I think SBTM217 is even better in almost every respect. It is slightly lighter and 1mm smaller. It has good lume and accepts straps. The Seiko logo is applied, not painted. True, the dial has no pattern, but is positively inky. Radio reception works only in Japan, but you can simulate it elsewhere with your mobile phone.

      You're right, it does have quite a few perks over this one but what can I say, I was a sucker for that dial!

    Will the perpetual calendar work without reception?

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  9 місяців тому

      Good question. I think if it can sync once it will track it internally but I'm not sure if you can manually set the calendar. If you're buying one from Japan, odds are it will sync before it is shipped and after you adjust the time it will have the perpetual calendar set up correctly

    • @mrjones6770
      @mrjones6770 9 місяців тому

      That's doesn't answer my question... your in Oz you should know the answer you don't get reception either in Oz

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  9 місяців тому

      Well, I bought mine in person when I was in Japan, so it synced there. Taking it back to Australia, the perpetual calendar was already set, so I can't confidently answer your question. The manual for this movement (Calibre 7b24) might have more information on manually setting the watch

    • @mrjones6770
      @mrjones6770 9 місяців тому

      @@addicted_to_watches okay that kinda tells me that it doesn't need to sync for perpetual calendar to work..I live in NZ and only buying this watch for the perpetual calendar so I'll go ahead and buy.

    Compared to casio oceanus 100, which one do you want to recommend?

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  3 роки тому +3

      Great question since the two watches share a lot of similarities. I haven't personally experienced the Casio but based on many other UA-cam videos it seems like a great watch. I'd personally choose the Seiko because it's a little slimmer and smaller than the Casio. The other thing I prefer about the Seiko is the dial texture. One thing the Casio has going for it is lume which the Seiko doesn't have. They are both pretty similarly priced so I think it just comes down to which design you prefer. I'd say you can't go wrong with either

    Are these solid links on this piece? Am considering picking up this piece, and want to be sure the bracelet and clasp are decent before I commit 😅

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  10 місяців тому +2

      The links are solid but the endlinks can't be removed, they're part of the case. The watch feels well made and solid even though it's light due to the titanium

    Nice, Solar, Titanium, Radio Wave, it's very attractive. The size is within American classic tastes, can't believe it's not a world watch for the everyman. It must be marketed in the USA.

      Dumb comment, did you think about it for the second before you wrote it? 😂 Maybe it's a best seller in the JDM market (the only market where it's sold) so Japanese people know about it but English speakers from outside of Japan (most of the people who would be watching this video) haven't heard of it 😂

    loom lasts for about 20 minutes. Get over loom!

    • @addicted_to_watches
      @addicted_to_watches  Рік тому

      I get what you're saying but on many of my Seiko divers the lume lasts a lot longer than 20 minutes and at a certain point it is not even about the lume anymore, it's about corners that a brand cuts and costs they save when making the watch by not including it and can sometimes be representative of the overall quality of a watch
