Blackend Salmon has become one of my favorite dishes, but I struggled removing the skin. I watched this video, then removed the skin from a 3lb side of salmon, and it looks as perfect as the one you did in the video. Many thanks, and I will be back for more tips. You da man!
So glad to come across this video just at the right time and loved that Chef Richard also talked about trimming the sidesas well, which I would not have probably realised should have been done, as I don't usually buy it in one large piece.
Funny. It was revealed that Tommy actually worked at a Boys and Girls Club helping to mentor children in the community. But you're so right he reminds me of him. 😂
another easy way of taking the skin off of fish is to lay it on of a cooling rack with a tray underneath it, With the skin facing up pour hot water over the entire fish and the skin will just pull off without any effort
Are you on a cooking show? I feel like you get in depth with a lot of questions we have. I have been cooking salmon, but definitely learned a copy of new things.
Very nice video chef but in my kitchen we use soap every time we wash our hands. Not to get off the subject but I learned some things from this video so thanks alot Chef!!!

That whole bit about moving the skin from side to side while cutting... Thank you.
Great technique, never though I would need to cut skin off salmon, but with your video, my family was very happy with the results. Thanks
Type in “easily remove skin from salmon “…. All you have to use is hot water.

Doing a pretty good job? Ya! Because you are a professional! Lol
nice skinning job and no waste.. I was just looking at a video by Jamie Oliver and it was a mess loll
Naw, keep the knife stationary at a 15 degree angle and sway the skin, not the knife. Works way better.
Probably more than one way to do it.
another easy way of taking the skin off of fish is to lay it on of a cooling rack with a tray underneath it, With the skin facing up pour hot water over the entire fish and the skin will just pull off without any effort
You’re correct. I’ve done it both ways.
Cool video but the 70’s adult movie soundtrack almost killed me.
That wasn’t a wash, that was a rinse! But awesome technique
