Haha thanks for the heads up. I’ll find better stuff next time. It’s so hard finding music. By the time I’ve cut the video into useable content I’m buggered haha thanks for the encouragement! Cheers 🍻
Thankyou very much! I’m very happy to hear you like them. I keep thinking it’s going to get more interesting but everything takes so long it still pretty monotonous lol 😂
I have done a couple of those typical 'shoe box' deck and hull joins. I hated the original version as it was a weak spot and had so many fasteners penetrating it always lead to leaks. Wasn't particularly fond of the stainless rub strip either as it seemed ineffectual and prone to corrosion (one was aluminum which was worse). I used epoxy for the whole job other than the top layer and gel coat. Putty to fair the transition (I kept what thickness of original glass was there). The cabins were built so separating the deck and hull were not an option. Once the transition was faired to my satisfaction I laid on step layers using epoxy and glass tape (I used factory rolls for ease) stepping down the thickness with each layer. It has been years but as I recall I used eight or ten layers of heavy cloth tape. When I was done it all blended quite well and I had a structural joint with uniform thickness (no weak or hard spots in a dock bumping etc.) that was totally water tight and that actually looked better than the rub rail style. With your abilities at fairing and blending I would have thought that would have been your option too. I have reapplied rub rails in the past and was never pleased with the look nor the practicality. On commercial boats of this size and larger you never see a separate joint unless it is some cheap sport boat masquerading as a heavy duty rig. I believe it would be quicker for you as well as better. Anyway the boat is progressing well and the quality is high.
Hey hey Dougie! I did think it nearly looked good enough to skip a rub rail. I thought a polished stainless rub rail would look fancy. I’m going silver bottom sides with white deck. See what it looks like after I fair it good. I wasn’t going to fade any Fibreglass to the glass strip. I think I’d end up grinding down too much glass to be worth the effort. I’m thinking the epoxy will putty won’t crack fingers crossed 🤞 haha 😅😅😅 The reason I have that little hatch in the anchor well into the subwoofer box is to inspect for leaks and to assist with installing the massive speaker too so I totally understand what you’re saying about leak points. Very valid reason I will keep an open mind to your suggestion. Thankyou so much for your idea! Cheers 🍻
I'm sure you know this but just in case, to stop the itch from fiberglass when sanding it, rub on talcum powder on your skin before you start sanding. The powder stops the little fibers from digging in and you stop the itch.
Another video 😊 you are spoiling us, she’s looking bloody awesome, coming along now, looking forward to next weeks episode.
Hahaha next weeks one will hopefully be more interesting I hope. Thanks for the encouragement!
It's getting exciting now! Looking good! Cheers! 😀😀
Thanks man! It is a bit better now lol 😂
Making progress mate,
I like seeing it go back together
Glad you’re enjoying them! Thanks for your encouragement
Nice editing / Weird music - but hey, a little change from time to time works. The boat is going to be awesome! Keep the spirit and push on 🏆

I am so hooked on watching you build this beast mate absolutely exceptional craftsmanship to be produced out of the back shed that's for sure

Your gunnel fix is very clever.
Thankyou. Hopefully it’ll last a long time. Can’t wait to show where I’m at now!
So exciting! It really is coming all coming together. You’re doing such an amazing job. ❤
Boring video without you in it xxx

Finally!
I did another one a week ago that’s bit better I think 💭 glad you still watch em. I need to check your channel again when I get a chance

Yep i got talc sitting next to shed entrance. I put it all over me when i expect to do bulk sanding 🍻
Kinda cool with the playstations even if its not practical
Totally not practical but I promised my son and it’s a fun challenge. Cool if it works out useable!
Amazing work, your call but you save time by not being so particular with the finish in non visible areas be neat but not crazy
Thanks mate 🍻
