    I'm so very proud of my son. He certainly has his father's talent and genes. but has definitely taken them to a whole new level to persist with this project, supported by his gorgeous partner, Stacey. I so love reading all the follower's comments and encouragements. Thanks. from Michaels mum.

    You have "making things" in your blood. The difficulties are all part of the learning process and will pay off in ways that you can't anticipate in future endeavors.
    All-in-all, the outcome looks successful.

    Hey Mick.
    Have you tried old school sub box/door pod hack for your hard top ?
    Use stretchy cloth stapled between the 2 surfaces and resin over the top. Should be able to get the curves you want.
    Will need lots of sanding and bog thou

    • @Micington
      @Micington  16 днів тому +1

      That’s exactly what I ended up doing today! Hahah good idea! 👍 it’ll will be some grinding and bogging but atleast I got good form work for curve. Is that what you do for work? I used to work in car audio a long time ago

    • @MichaelandMaryH
      @MichaelandMaryH 15 днів тому +1

      @ i worked in car audio a long time ago, still have my 15” image dynamics subs from long ago. I still watch a lot of stereo guys even though i own a boat. Steve Meade, Mark from Car audio Fabrications, Soundman.
      I admire your dedication to the project.

      @Micington ha ha ha was a nice even number that sounded good 🤣 and with the roof was referring to how the top hoop slips straight into the bottom hoop you just made will lock it in nicely 👍 the ideas you are coming up with and producing out of the back yard mate are on point 👌

    Try spraying a coat of PVA over the mould before laying the gelcoat Michael. It adds another surety to the release agent. It washes off with water. (not wood glue pva)

    • @Micington
      @Micington  18 днів тому +2

      Cheers for the tip, I'll definitely Do that next time! Ive done it in the past and it worked great but i watched some fishbump tv video of him doing molds and he just buffed an waxed and it turned out perfection thought i would try but i didnt buff enough and i shouldve used more csm on mold spacer thingy too so the gelcoat didnt break away from the glass so easy if that made any sense

    I feel your pain mate, I didn’t use enough mould release wax on my transom locker mould and had a few hours scraping it off the part, managed to save it,

    My hat is off to you. Hardest thing in the world is to pull the pin on a project you are 2/3 into and start anew. The only thing to do is anesthetize the pain with brown bubbles? Cheers. Michelangelo and DaVinci will be green with envy when you finish your masterpiece. (not sure if it is because you won the Goddess or your fine work??) Happy New Year to you and yours! You bear the frustration, we get the content. Good bargain. See you next time.

    Watch you don’t get a UA-cam strike for copyright infringement on the broadcast music track recorded while you’re working.
    3 strikes & your out.

    • @Micington
      @Micington  18 днів тому +2

      Yeh i thought it was a bit risky leaving the original sound in there but i thought it would make it like you guys were with us more. I think I’ve had more then 3 copyright strikes but UA-cam has given me options to replace music or blank it out, i thought if i made clips really short and jumbled speeds and reversed it might keep em oblivious. It cleared the checks for now, but i noticed i get copyrights years after in some cases ??? I probably should’ve just put proper music in now that you saying that… see how it goes. Thanks for your advice regardless 🍻

    • @ianmoone2359
      @ianmoone2359 18 днів тому +2

      @ No worries, UA-cam have a AI program that’s now scanning past content for potential copyright music infringements in case they get sued by the original artists agents is what I understood.
      So it’s whatever order the AI program scans uploaded videos is when it can catch up with you. I only mention it because others have been caught out by it.
