Back in my younger years, I picked up a black powder cap and ball pistol, the nipple was filthy, mutilated, and in need of replacement. I obtained the spare nipple but didn't have the appropriate tool for removing it. So, I went to the local gun store. The owner was talking to a lady at the counter when he asked me what I needed. The incredulous look on her face when I said I needed a nipple wrench was unforgettable. Equal to that was the look of confusion on her face when he responded that they were on the back wall.
You: "Hey, you guys have a nipple wrench?"

Lincoln, and stewed turd should have been shot in 1861. Tyrants to the core
One question just occurred to me watching this and maybe you've heard it discussed. The assassination was one part of the conspiracy so was not spur of the moment. It was planned so why would Booth use a derringer why not a Colt Army for example. I have grave doubts there were metal detectors at Fords Theater that night and Booth was well known there being a famous actor so bringing in a larger revolver would not be a problem. Had the derringer gone click instead of Boom then history would be vastly different.
I saw on here,You Tube, an old 1950s episode of the tv show "I've Got a Secret" The guest on there had a secret the panel had to guess. His secret was that he was at Fords Theater the night of the assassination although he was about 4 years old then.
Dont know if you have seen it but there is a photograph strongly believed to be Lincoln taken on his death bed. While photographers were barred there was a short time frame when a photograph was possible. Also the photograph shows great swelling around the right eye.
"Don't worry Mr. President I got it out!" That had me rolling Brandon. I'd love to see more of these. Think you could pull off a test of the Carlos Hathcock through-the-scope kill?
If you're interested, the mythbusters actually did that one a while back. There were some issues with their test, and they didn't replicate Hathcock's shot exactly, but they did eventually conclude that it was possible.
Can be done, it's just incredibly unlikely.
You need three conditions for that to happen:
1. Aim for the scope and hit it or luckily hit it
2. Have the shooter aim straight at you as well, at the same elevation or negligible elevation difference.
3. Be faster at pulling the trigger than the guy looking towards you and ready to do you in.
It can happen , just very unlikely in the chaos of the warzone. One in a lifetime chance.
“Other than that mrs Lincoln, how was the play?”
@@randomyoutubecommentersecu7639 a couple more from the Mythbusters attempt. You need an older scope with bigger internal lenses and a steel cored AP bullet. Modern scopes are tight enough inside that they'll stop a standard FMJ ball, you need a sub caliber steel to get all the way through.

Other than that (Mrs Lincoln’s husband dying) how was the play?

The examination of the hole is actually pretty accurate. If I recall, one of the "doctors" stuck his finger in the hole and rooted in the brain for the ball.
Horrible Histories said it, so it is most likely true
Not quite, stuck his finger in to clear a clot and relieve pressure on Lincoln's brain.
It wasn't lincoln but another president, who the surgeon accidently killed due to sepsis after he shoved his finger in the bullet wound of the unconscious, but alive, president.
I mean for the standards of that time they were doctors.
Which is what actually kill him.
The funniest thing about the assassination of Abe Lincoln is that old Honest Abe was a professional wrestler back before becoming president, and he had serious reach as well. So if John Wilkes Boothe's pistol had misfired or something, there is a non zero chance that Abe could have gotten up, wrestled one of the most famous actors in America at the time, and thrown him from his box, all in front of his constituents
Wonder what that timeline looks like…

I think recreating the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand would be interesting.
It set off WWI. Which arguably makes it one of the most defining assassinations in history.
Gavrillio princep is arguably the most influential person of the 20th century.
WW1 literally shaped the entirety of the century and has completely changed world dynamics forever.
WWI would have happened anyway. Everyone was looking for a excuse, and Ferdinand happened to be the most convenient one.

Ironically enough, Brandon's ministrations with the skull after the shot are fairly analogous to the actions of the doctors trying to save Lincoln at the time.

In what ways
@@epicassassin8502 From what I remember, they poked around in his head trying to get the bullet out.
@@epicassassin8502they probably both had no clue what they were doing😅
In the sense that they bashed his head against the table, took out his brain and kneeded it around like a playdough, then yanked the rest of his skull along with his spine out and roared in victory as they held the trophy in the air.
The slight hang fire on muzzleloaders is kinda fun, some people think it’s annoying, but I like it, it feels almost cinematic
in less it keeps going . . .
A little dramatic flair if you will. However, being charged by bayonet I guess the delay could be scary
I love the hang fire it adds a little bit of comedic affect
It's actually called "lock time" in reference to the amount of time from when you pull the trigger which releases the "lock" of the weapon (where the phrase lock, stock, and barrel come from) to when the powder is actually ignited
Flintlocks are slower sidelock like this quicker and the c&b revolver has almost no delay
The fact he shot Abe at point blank, in the head, but it took several hours for him to die says a bit about the power of this pistol.

The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, one of the events that kicked the Great war. You could even do a penetration test if he could still have survived if he had a windshield in front of him or whatever.
Just amazing to me what people will believe... You think people cared about some Duke? Rich scumbags aren't special! It's called HIS story for a reason... It's not our story.
He did. It was a grenade. The bullet hit his wife his last words to her were "(her name) you cannot die. The children need you"

Also, that lag time between the cap popping and the gun firing is intense.

If he's using Pyrodex (which is easier to find than real black powder) I'm not surprised he got a bit of lag. Real black powder ignites much more easily than Pyrodex, which is also why you can't use Pyrodex in a flintlock.

The jokes Brandon made while dissecting the head were absolutely hilarious. These types of videos are phenomenal.
Giggidy
They were just “that’s what she said” jokes. They have been obvious jokes for decades.

The way that his head does not bleed when he gets shot
These videos are very intriguing, as it shows the science behind famous assassinations. Also shows how dark Brandon is willing to go with his jokes, and I don’t mind it.
In addition to the successful assassinations such as Garfield and McKinley, you should also cover some of the unsuccessful assassinations that were still able to wound their targets. I'm specifically thinking of the attempt on Teddy Roosevelt by John Schrank, and the attempt on Reagan by John Hinckley Jr..
Teddy avoided death by pure dumb luck, and Reagan by prompt and effective surgery.
It might also be interesting the look at the attempt on Franklin Roosevelt. That attempt missed Roosevelt and injured apparently five people and killed then Chicago mayor Anton Cermak.
It wasn’t luck. Teddy Roosevelt scared the bullet mid-flight, causing it to slow down
Didn't Teddy do a campaign speech right after being shot, before seeking medical treatment? Such a badass
@@arrogance2166 he finished the speech he was doing. Mind you it was over an hour he did after getting shot.
The first President to face assassination was Andrew Jackson where both of the would-be assassin’s pistols misfired. Jackson then proceeded to beat the man so badly with his cane that his bodyguards had to wrestle him away for the other guy’s life.
Inspection afterwards revealed both pistols were in perfect working order so clearly the guns were just scared of Jackson.
@@gameragodzilla Jackson was a bad ass, outnumbered 3 to 1 in a battle and won a decisive victory against the Brits, 3 days after the war was officially over.

"HOHOHO, he F***in' ded!" Greatest line I've ever heard Donut say.
But in actuality, Lincoln didn't die immediately after being shot. It took 9 HOURS before passing away after being shot.
Actually, Booth's deringer (made by John Deringer of Philadelphia) was a .44 caliber with an unusual left-hand twist in the barrel. The projectile was a .41 to allow for the wadding. BTW: Inventors name had one "R", copies had two.
