I think I was lucky. My ev200d goggles work great. Got them Sept 2018. Very happy with them. That being said my son in law is getting the fatshark v5 mainly because of the support. Even though he likes my ev200d. He watched your review and made his decision based on it. Thanks Joshua
You did well! I’ve had my Skyzone 02s for about 2 months, and it took a little while to get use to a 30 degree FOV, but these are great goggles! The image is awesome, and lets not forget, that image is only as good as it can be by the FPV camera you have mounted, and I highly suggest the JB Runcam Micro Eagle Pro! No, IDK Mr. Bardwell, sure, I’ve chatted via email for questions I’ve had, who hasn’t, but this camera is seriously awesome! Lastly, for those that feel, hey, $300 is still alot of money for goggles, but still want to migrate out of the box goggle, I would highly suggest the Sj rg 01 @$86 dollars USD, they are a binocular sytle goggle, housed in a small box style frame. These goggles have true diversity, they have a DVR, they can be powered by an external lipo, or FS battery. Yeah, they have a really low resolution, but at a 43 degree FOV, it kinda makes up for it, in a way. Put it this way, if you’ve never experienced wearing a Fatshark goggle, and $300 just isn’t in your budget, give these a shot, you won’t be disappointed! BTW, these are made by Skyzone, and are very well made!
I've heard from others that they received a brand new (second) set for 50$, even when they had only minor issues with their own. Just say no to Banggood's offer and ask for a better one. BG customer service is usually not *too* bad :)
@mPky1 i bought them with paypal, when i decline the silly 5$ offer from banggod and contacted paypal service i got 100% money back, but i should not have to do this.
Wouldn’t it be great if some merchant let you pay a small fee and they send you like four loaner goggles to evaluate. Then you send them back and if you buy one from them you get the fee back. The problem with fpv is not many local places to try things! Yea not any fliers around me.
If you're from Europe for any product you buy online, you have the right to send it back in the next 14 days without having to pay for anything except sometimes shipping fee
Yeah but the problem is the 4 goggles are around say $300 each so that $1600 worth of product with the customer say putting no more than $100 down, that a pretty big risk. the best you can hope for is a local shop stocking them and letting you try them out.
You must have some sort of ESP thing going on, JB. First, the antennas yesterday. Now the $300 goggle round up. This is the next item on my list of purchases and what I'd like to spend. I've been leaning toward the EV-200D, but all of them have pluses and minuses that you point out very well, as always. I love the dual module bays, that it actually comes with modules and that they can be swapped out for better ones, as well as the wider FOV. The DOA and warranty issues with Eachine does worry me and sways me in the direction of the SkyZone and Commander V1S even though the modules can't be changed. I just can't push myself to the Fat Sharks if they don't come with a receiver module, but I've heard that's changing. Thank you, as always, for all your hard work, JB.
Great video! Good job pointing out the customer service aspect. A lot of people aren’t aware of what happens AFTER these companies have their money. While yes, you can ask the community about technical questions with googles, you should absolutely be able to contact customer service as well but that is not the case with all of them. Again great video, keep it up!
I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I bought the ev200d a month ago, just before the release of the FatShark. Worried I bought the wrong one, you have calmed my nerves. Thank you again for your in-depth analysis and presentation of technical specs of these goggles. (And all products you review and analyze.)
The new attitude v5 has no option for 4.3 back to 16.9 and no hdmi so going the ev200d makes sense provided it doesn't crap out and break. Im a fan of fstshark but for this reason as a budget goggle i would opt for ev200d and add an aftermarket module then when u got cash get the fatshark flagship hdo.
Being new I didn't understand what I really needed to fly where I wanted to. After a bunch of your videos I ordered a 600mw vtx anf the fat shark v5. I ordered the fatshark over the skyzone as I figure they would have higher resale down the road. Thank you. Your videos are the best. Now, how to keep using my Spektrum dx6 for what I want to do... I love Spektrum stuff and do not plan on switching as long as they offer cool bnf planes etc. Those of us old enough to remember the struggles of 72mhz and crystals etc. Turned us die hard spektrum users. Plus they are very nice.
Get the EV300d, they are a bit cheaper have real good image quality 4xdiversity a nice battery compartment and you can use them without glasses with almost any common eyeproblem . The latency is NOT an issue, it is below the margin you can notice and far below your own reaction time. I've my doubts the others in that price range can match up to the EV300d
Skyzone were my FIRST 4 years ago. I loved them (before I realized it did not have a fan) … then when the receiver died I could not get them fixed.... I NEVER used that front camera. sorry ….
I have a pair of 200D goggles and I love them! I am into longer range and more forest flying and I can get 3 patches set up for maximum penetration (teehee) and range. The DVR function is pretty damn good as well. My only gripe would be that the auto channel search function takes a little bit too long. But that's about it. Maybe the foam could be better... but then again I have a kind of weird shaped face.
Curious about your range test video, and also curious if there is a difference between 'first batch' EV200D and later ones (where the reduction of production cost might have begun). The image quality of my EV200D is only surpassed by HDO's, nothing else comes close regarding contrast and vibrancy. My DVR records an image quality that is not that much worse than an on-quad Runcam DVR board. And the reception quality of my OEM modules is excellent. When the Rapidfire people start complaining about unflyable video quality I can happily fly on, mostly with only a single Pagoda. There is one rule though: power on the goggles and wait for all the beeps before powering the VTX for best results. It seems the receiver does some finetuning/locking in when it first sees the signal.
The ev800d screen is way too big and that's coming from a guy who uses a box goggle.... also the colors seems very dull and even grey looking once sun is down. Tbh my old diy quantom v2 goggles have a better looking screen that isn't right up to my face, and that diy kit is 29$. Eachine can really beat the game if they make box goggles with a smaller screen
@@noamamir0942 can you show us with list instruction step by step how to do them or even better with video. Some links with parts needed will be very much appreciated!!Thanks.
Thank you so much for this video! I decided to go with the Fat Sharks because of the info that is on your website about how Rapid Fire is confirmed to work with the Attitude V5. Being able to change the module and Fat shark support makes them win in my book.
Hi I ordered the Fatsharks and sent them back!!! In this review you stated and on the spreadsheet, they were 16:10 Aspect ratio, but yet the panels are 600x400 which can not be a wide screen view. Also on the box that they came in, the specifications state 4:3. All a bit misleading in my opinion.
The box that says they are 4:3 is not correct. It's Fat Shark who is being misleading here not me. The screen is not 4:3 resolution. It chops off the top and bottom of the incoming 4:3 image to fit it into the 600x400 screen. The weakest thing about these goggles is that the screen is not a standard aspect ratio.
I meant the 02c goggles, which I’m sure will be very good, don’t really need the headtracking or the front camera, which is a little bit awkward to get used to.
@@DavidReynolds-kr6yh yeah i was tempted by the front camera but since it wasn't something i really needed decided to go without it. heard nothing but good things, im very excited for them to arrive.
I have the sky zones on order. Out of stock at the moment but don’t think I’ll be disapointed. The only reason I would look at the Fatsharks if to fit rapid fire, but that another extra. Maybe one day I will get FS but not yet. Thanks for the review, I did dodge a bulliet I think, ordered EV200D, but out of stock I got a full refund from Banggood. Started out with EV100’s so anything will be an improvement. I fly fine with those.
I use Dom v3s .they work awesome for me . I like 16x9 . I can't see upgrading because they just work great . I guess because I never used anything else . I've never used box goggles either . I'm really curious as to how good those new fatshark box goggles are . They look like a good cheep backup or second option .

You didn't talk about the external receiver of the fatshark, which is for me, the BIG advantage of the goggles!
@@mikeoleksa yeah, but if you've bought Eachine gear before, you'll realize that it just might not last as long as you expect or want it to. Plus, I almost guarantee there is going to be some weird quirk that won't work quite right and it will bug the shit of you. And, sending it back to Eachine... Ahhh, you go right ahead, and let me know how that goes for you. I'll bet it takes 3-4 months to get them back and you have a completely different problem when you get them back than when you sent them in! I just can't see that scenario turning out good... 🤔😕

@@mikeoleksa yeh I didn't mentioned it but you're right, it's a big advantage too! the attitude v5 is coming with a module too btw
I think he didnt do that because he knows this is your first BUDGET google and buying extra modules is not cheap, especially the better ones like laforge, immersionrc, ...
You didn't mention the possibility of using a receiver module. For me that's the most valuable feature! I use a rapid fire in my dom v3's and sure as hell won't give that up for a bigger screen..... love the work jb
@@JoshuaBardwell no that's a fact as well of course. But the fatshark is the only one who comes with antennas worth mentioning and a battery case right? So it's still most value for money I would guess
I was buying my dominator v3 yesterday for 269€ brand new (with the 2year eu warranty) :) so just take a look in the rc shops around you can find these still :) and btw the Flightsight falcon is missing :)
Think Stu from UAVfutures currently using the sky zones, even after giving the new OLED faksharks a great review. Which does show the truth I guess. Awesome vids buddy, and big G'day from WA (Western Australia)
Paul R , I was thinking exactly the same, there got to be a reason why he loves them so much, and it can’t just be the great graphics. Cheers from Brisbane.
Are there service centers in Canada? Also these goggles are like in the $500 range in Canada. Why cant the manufacturers let these goggles be universally $300+ instead of $300+USD
After a shade under 2 years and a couple of hundred flight hours. My Skyzone Sky02S are now showing the black screen of death!! With bugger all chance of getting them fixed by Skyzone I will be buying a new pair of goggles way sooner than I would have liked. Fatshark aftercare wins out for me. My mates Fatsharks are years old and just keep on going.
Why is the DVR a pain? Mr. Bardwell said they have the best dvr. Is it just quality wise and the user experience bad? Is it something like that you have to turn it on manually and it doesn't automatically start recording on power up?
hdmi made me second guess my order to that and wvga oled and them being fixed to 16.9 if they had those options i would have been sold as i wanted a module goggle I did the same and took a gamble on the ev200d and got a furious true d-x and if the ev200d dies at least i have a module for the latest fatshark when it comes out =)
Thanks man! This was very helpful and I thank u that you took the eachine ev200d in the review. I will use you link with my next purchase to help u out.
@@boratsagdiyev1586 yes it doesn’t out preform rapid fire but it has other features and easy to use menu more user friendly not pure racer like rapid fire
@@boratsagdiyev1586 the true d x has all what rapid fire has plus indoor and out door mode wich is similar to rapid fires legacy mode switching. It also does the multipath image fusing that rapid fire does but its still not as good as rapid fire, it can be updated via bluetooth on the mobile app so no need to remove module. It has a lap timer/counter build into the osd so you can set up a course and it will log it all.
Ordered the sky02C goggles, I prefer the 16x9 screen over 4.3. Im upgrading from aomway commander V1 goggles. I’ve tried Fatshark HDO’s screens are nice, just can’t do 4.3. Let’s hope sky zone pulls through. 🤞
All I know is 16:9 as well. Is 4:3 to small? Ive always wandered if I am missing out, or if itd be easier to fly on 4:3 because I could see more in the up and down direction.
Lurifax RC it’s worth the upgrade. The reception is better, the dvr is hands down better. I was drawn to these for the price. I’m happy and would by the oled newer model if you can swing it.
Great vid JB. One thing no one has discussed which may be important to some is the included antennas that come with the fat sharks. Not your normal junk antennas that come with some box goggles.
Joshua, I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video, it has definitely helped me to choose pair that's right for me. One thing that you may not have mentioned in this particular video is that the attitude v5 goggles support crossfire.
You didn't mention that since these are typically bought by someone a little newer to the hobby than a long term flyer, they might just need /want to practice a lot to get good at flying. So, the Simulators are a superb way to do this. Something all veteran fliers highly recommend. 👍 The Aomway's work great with sims. So do the Skyzone's. I'm not sure about the Eachine goggles. But, I do know that Fatshark LEFT OFF THE HDMI JACK on the V5's. So, no practicing on the sims for you if you buy those. Such a shame too! The ability to use the Rapidfire module is a HUGE BENEFIT over the Aomway's and Skyzone's. Then Fatshark has to go and blow it and take away our great way to practice! EPIC FAIL! Sure, you may be able to jerry-rig it to work with the video / audio able, but that is going to give you that 640 x 400 resolution. 640 x 480 is VGA resolution, like the 8bit vudeo games used back in the 1980's. THAT SUCKS! AND 640 x 400 is 80 lines LESS RESOLUTION! So, that's sucks really hard! Maybe get an old Atari 2600 and play that instead! Lol *When it comes right down to comparing these goggles, I'll be the first to say, none of them are a real good choice.* That's because using that Rapidfire module is a GAME CHANGER! IT'S SO GOOD! I guess the Eachines can use modules, but it's a HUGE stretch to be confident about their quality and I have no confidence in ever being able to service them. I have to assume they are disposable. So, they're out for me. Plus, I used to buy Eachine gear, and it always has something not quite right or up to par going on with every product I've ever bought! The Aomway's and Skyzone's don't take external modules. So that leaves the Fatshark goggles. And since I can't use the simulator, because it doesn't have an HDMI port, that counts them out too, So, I wait until someone comes out with the whole package without paying the, IMO rip off price of the HDO's. I've flown with them, and they were ok, but I wasn't even close to impressed. I feel they are around $150-200 over priced. And, for $500, still no power button... An on /off switch! Geeez! 🤔😵 To me they performed like they should cost about $50 more than any of these goggles. No more.
Great video Joshua! Why doesn’t anyone ever mention the fan u have to plug a 2s balance port in ? I do not own the FatShark but I feel that would bother me. Do u find it a down side ?
I bought the flysight fg02 and have been using them for two months now. I use the eachine pro58 module with them and have been really happy. No drawbacks so far , love them.
Well, here in Brazil there's no FatShark center. So... It's all the same. 😕 Anyway, I would still get the EV200D. Because, if I want, I could get RapidFire after and use it.
Acho q o único q vai escolher outra coisa é o fabiano do mundo drone, fanboy do aomway commander (e de frsky tbm) kkkkkkk
@@gamaxgbg kkkkkkkkk Exatamente meu ponto.
You mention the Ev200d DVR is a better 720p one, but that seems to be the opposite to my experience. Maybe there's different versions of the ev200d, but mine have a trash DVR which is borderline unusable since it skips frames / video playback is at a varying speed, and the recording resolution / quality is poor.
These decisions on goggles are always very tough. When I needed a new set of goggles I went with the Fatsharks because of the support. I still not think they are worth the price but knowing that I can get them repaired if something goes wrong makes me feel a little better......but just a little. Hopefully the competition will up their game in the support department so the next time I need a new set I have some better options ;-) Thanks for the comparisons. See you in the Air!
I ordered SKY02C for my wife in red and I received what looks like SKY02X with the camera on front but the camera is not working Lol! Not sure if they just installed different firmware 🤔
What is 16:10? You do 4:3 or 16:9 or both. How is great customer service gonna help me live with a distorted image? Pretty pathetic if a company that specializes on goggles can't do switchable 4:3/16:9 they are no longer the best at their game.
Hey I really like your videos. Good help. BUT what’s the deal with your concern about part of the osd text being slightly out of the frame because when you connect the drone to the computer it allows you to customize the OSD and move things around so you could move everything back in view in a few mins. You make it seem like it’s a defect, but every screen and their resolutions sometimes just don’t mesh (code wise).
Love your videos guys really helping me with the steap learning curve as fast as possible, do you have any opinion with the Flysight SPX02. My guess is that you would say the build quality isn't as good as I would like just because I didn't see you review them in that video for the same amount of money as the other good ones and I like that it has the camera with picture and picture for the front view if you want it in the corner that's the only real reason I'm leaving for 240 bucks with the fan and everything they look pretty ideal please let me know what you think.. ty
CONFIRMED. There is a repair centre in Sydney, Australia for Fatshark. Sent my HD3 in for repair after a 6S plugin. If I could use the Rapid-fire module out of my HD3 with my older Sky02+ headset, I would just use the Skyzone as the screen clarity is just so much better. Maybe I need to build a 3d module bay or buy a dock king
Oh no, that’s not good, hope it didn’t take too long to get it back. I’ve got the skyzone 02+ goggles, supposedly you can use up to 6s, but I’m not going to try, just in case, I have used 4s batteries, from a big twin engine warbird and they lasted for hours.
Wore out my EV800 then EV800D. Almost went ev200d but don't trust BGood nor the quality. Saved up another month+ and stepped up to HD3/rapid fire. Rock solid - love it with my Monster V2 cam.
Finally, you admitted it, the skyzone is better value, and probably the best looking screen and looks really cool with the graphics. I knew you’d have to say it. If I didn’t have a skyzone v02+ already, which is almost brand new, I’d get the skyzone, but I’d probably only get the 02c version, don’t need the front camera, although I must admit I have used them on a couple of occasions, plus I’m not sure if I’ll ever use the head tracking or 3D.
I know people are divided on them, and it may come down to the optics and that some people have trouble getting them to work right, but I scored the Aomway commanders V2 for about $320 converted to USD and they work perfectly for me, have good resolution, 42 degrees FOV, good range etc. But like I said, Aomway seems to have some problems getting their optics just right, and the larger the FOV, the more sensitive it will be to distortion or other optics artifacts, so ideally you'd want to try them before buying. And with all of the "less well supported" brands (pretty much anything apart from FatShark), at least fin Europe it's a good idea to buy local, not Banggood, since if you buy it from a EU dealer they have to cover any issues.
Fatsharks like the old "Base", that I still use, had some very shoddy parts. I think Fatshark have had more time to evolve but otherwise they are no better quality than most.
Josh: It looks like you have a decent nearsighted glasses prescription, like me. When I got my setup I got a set of Viper box goggles, because I thought that I had to. And they work well enough. But after watching your video I would like to know how your vision works with the various non box goggles. Do you do just fine with all of them if you lift your glasses out of the way?
Glass wearer and Sky02 x/c.. On box goggles I had to install 2.25 magnifier (Carson Visormag 2.25x power) to create a focused image. How or what is required on these goggles. Do they include some sort of optical elements for glass wearer for diopter adjustment? I have lens implants and are set for distance, Which for me is stuff is in focus at about 24 inches and on out. Good video review and thanks
Second!! I love these new goggles! No way I would spend $500 on some HDOs! The attitude v5 look like they might be right for me! Great video! Keep up the good work!
I got the ev200d around 2 months ago they work great👍 personally I think the range is not the best but I think it might by because I don't have the best antenna's. And I really like the screens
Hi Joshua .. when we can see your review of the Flysight Falcon SG02? They are in the same price tag and I read a lot of good comments but nothing on UA-cam
What about which of these goggles comes with in their packaging? I think this is an important factor that you missed the opportunity in mentioning, especially for those of us who are new to FPV. Build quality is important of course, but included accessories can either make it or break it! By "it," I mean the $Bank... The Aomways with quad antennaes... Isn't that more radiation as well as sucking battery power? Which goggle drains the slowest?
Has there been a DVR update since the ev200d came out? I'm watching a couple other reviews (kebabfpv and droneracer101) and they both say the DVR is trash.
Thank you for your videos, this one is very helpful - but I am still torn between the larger FOV on Eachines vs. supposedly better quality and support of Fat sharks or SkyZone. It is not a small purchase...
I'm thinking of getting these skyzones because I cant find the attitude v5s anywhere .. i wanted the fatsharks because I know they come with everything I would need ..im brand new to fpv ..these would be my first pair of goggles . What would I need to buy to make the skyzones work ? Antennas ? Reciever ? Are they compatible with the crossfire module or tbs if i wanted to upgrade ? Batteries ? Sorry for the questions .. like I said.. very new.
In one of your articles at fpvknowitall you mention that ev200d has incompatibility with some high-performance diversity modules. the skyzone also. But i see lots of videos that show ev200d and also skyzone sky03o working with rapidfire modules. And also in forums i see that too. Do they really work %100 percent. Can i get the full performance of rapidfire or tbs fusion, etc. what do you mean by incompatibility.
Coming from the ev100's I'm looking between the sky's and fatsharks. But which ones have a brighter screens. I always am wishing for a much brighter screen with the eachine 100's.
I ordered EV200D's like 2 wks ago...was a bit hesitant to watch this vid...lol. Overall, hoping they work out, but my shipment still hasn't arrived. Overall, shy of build quality or an initial issue I could identify, hopefully all will be well. The other facets of the review seem to show that they're still a damn solid choice, as long as they work and seem to be good out of the box.
Joshua: FYI, the DVR from my EV200D spits out 720 x 480 video. You have 720p in your spreadsheet which is defined as 1280x720p. Is there a setting i'm not aware of or is that a typo? Thanks for the video, I wish it would have been available about a month ago. Knowing what I know now I probably would go with the SkyZones. My EV200D's have a bunch of nagging issues, the main one being the poor optics.
I still can't decide for one because I fly 4:3 and the Fatshark has the good support, quality and very good antennas but the skyzone supports hdmi in, 3d vr and is not black so it won't get hot in the sun. For which did you guys decide? Or what would you recommend?
Hi Joshua. Do you still have a positive recommendation of the Skyzone 02 at this time? (in this price range) I am looking to upgrade from our trusty EV800d's. We are fixed wing pilots, mostly FPV Wing racing. Thanks a bunch!
I long for goggles in this form factor that have a decent FOV, i fly with box goggles because i want the 72 degrees my SJ-V01 have but if goggles like this could give me even 60 degrees id seriously consider them.
I think I was lucky. My ev200d goggles work great. Got them Sept 2018. Very happy with them. That being said my son in law is getting the fatshark v5 mainly because of the support. Even though he likes my ev200d. He watched your review and made his decision based on it.
Thanks Joshua
Likewise. I forgot how tiny and low res the commanders comparatively to my ev200's (also purchased Sept 2018)
“ I work for you “ 😢😭 you the best!
" Make your life a little bit easier" 😭 so touching

Thanks for helping me make my first drone and helping me get the correct parts! = )
I finally beat you to the punch!
PS: CLONING.
Fake news! Lol!
It's nice that you two make great videos and it's interesting to see what Stew thinks about these goggles
Got my SkyZone 02C today in the mail. First non boxed goggle for me ;)
Are you happy with your purchase?
Thank you
You did well!
The eachine ev200d have 5 days warranty. Thats a big no no for goggles
Mine stop working after 1 month and banggod offered me 5$ in bg points 😤
I've heard from others that they received a brand new (second) set for 50$, even when they had only minor issues with their own. Just say no to Banggood's offer and ask for a better one. BG customer service is usually not *too* bad :)
Yeah, mine have a bad right optical that they offered $40 in bg points or to send them to China on my dime. Last expensive eachine product I buy.
Only headset in stock
I've heard that GetFPV has better service and 30 days return if there's anything wrong.
Plus, you wont have to wait 30 days to get them.
So funny how I was thinking the same thing and looked at all the hobby shops in SoCal and there aren't that many and none allow that.
Special thanks for including ev200d :)
All I've owned is skyzone. Great goggle no problems, but skyzone is all I know. Love the video....
Are there any 2.4 modules or hacks without plugging av-in from another goggle? I'm getting the skyzone and I can't find anything on the web.
The attitude v5 comes with a module.
I picked up the skyzone 02x's and am very happy due to Joshua's video. I will upgrade later, but for now... I love them.
Perfect timing, perfect subject and perfect presenter ! thank you.
How perfect timing? You can not buy these products anywhere
I’m still going back watching all your older videos
Just bought the EV800D to try out Joshua thanks for your videos
I would go for Fat Shark. Somehow I trust the company more than the others. Thank you for the comparison. Cheers!
ใว่สายสะพา upgarde?
Can you tell a newbie your exact setup?
@@georgitasev4204 no point getting them now, just go for the eachine ev800dm, much better
Thank you so much for this video! I decided to go with the Fat Sharks because of the info that is on your website about how Rapid Fire is confirmed to work with the Attitude V5. Being able to change the module and Fat shark support makes them win in my book.
I'd go for the the attitude v5s if they didn't put them out with a weird screen size thanks fatshark
Hi
I ordered the Fatsharks and sent them back!!!
The weakest thing about these goggles is that the screen is not a standard aspect ratio.
bought a pair of skyzone sky02c yesterday hope i enjoy them
GRCSKY , I’ve got the v02+ goggles and I love them. I’m sure that you’ll love the 02x goggles even more.
Got my 02C in the mail today! First real non box goggle for me.
1320fastback , I’m sure you’re going to love them.
My commander broke completly. The eachine survives until today, and also is in every way better for me personal.
Decided to buy goggles next week - your timing is impeccable, sir :)
Jérôme Schaeffer yes I was going to say the same
The Eachine has 2 AND it comes with modules. They can be upgraded as well. I realize you likely know this, but I'm just saying.
I've been away from the hobby for years, come back, and the best is still the best :)
You didn't mention the possibility of using a receiver module. For me that's the most valuable feature! I use a rapid fire in my dom v3's and sure as hell won't give that up for a bigger screen..... love the work jb
Modules are like Nintendo controllers. Gimmicky and overpriced
By the time you add a RapidFire, you're well out of the $300 price range, so I didn't mention it in this roundup.
@@JoshuaBardwell no that's a fact as well of course. But the fatshark is the only one who comes with antennas worth mentioning and a battery case right? So it's still most value for money I would guess
YES JB, its about facts not fame and I certainly learned something today.THANKS JB.
I was buying my dominator v3 yesterday for 269€ brand new (with the 2year eu warranty) :) so just take a look in the rc shops around you can find these still :) and btw the Flightsight falcon is missing :)
What store
Can you let us know which European shop you went to buy the Dominator goggles?
Think Stu from UAVfutures currently using the sky zones, even after giving the new OLED faksharks a great review. Which does show the truth I guess.
Awesome vids buddy, and big G'day from WA
(Western Australia)
Paul R , I was thinking exactly the same, there got to be a reason why he loves them so much, and it can’t just be the great graphics. Cheers from Brisbane.
I feel stu contradicts himself often. Although his field tests i appreciate
Are there service centers in Canada? Also these goggles are like in the $500 range in Canada. Why cant the manufacturers let these goggles be universally $300+ instead of $300+USD
👍🏼 All in one vid. Totally epic. And this is right where my price range will have to be as well 👍🏼
Consider used HD3, HDO etc - that can be a very good alternative to those models mentioned and I think you get a better image for less.
Bought ev200d and I really like them granted the dvr is a pain but they work well for me
Why is the DVR a pain? Mr. Bardwell said they have the best dvr. Is it just quality wise and the user experience bad? Is it something like that you have to turn it on manually and it doesn't automatically start recording on power up?
AttitudeV5 has auto record+save which is ideal for GPS recovery IMO
I love that feature and use it all the time. So every flight is recorded
and sky02x no?
I vote attitude v5. Oled screens and they are green!
I hate green
I just ordered the skyzone goggles and i am really happy to see now that those gogggles are the right one for me👌😀
(Great video btw👍)

You forget to mention one very important thing, which made me cancel my v5 pre-order it lacks hdmi, I went for ev200d
hdmi made me second guess my order to that and wvga oled and them being fixed to 16.9 if they had those options i would have been sold as i wanted a module goggle I did the same and took a gamble on the ev200d and got a furious true d-x and if the ev200d dies at least i have a module for the latest fatshark when it comes out =)
Thanks man! This was very helpful and I thank u that you took the eachine ev200d in the review. I will use you link with my next purchase to help u out.
Ev200D + Rapidfire works JB, no mods, no cables, 5V on the bottom Module Pin, only DVR looks weird.. Could you review it please?
and the new furious True D-X works on the ev200d as well
@@rayl2354 Interesting if it actually outperformed the Rapidfire but it doesnt xD
@@boratsagdiyev1586 yes it doesn’t out preform rapid fire but it has other features and easy to use menu more user friendly not pure racer like rapid fire
@@rayl2354 Could you tell me what features rapidfire doesnt have that TrueD does? No sarcasm just curious.
Ive always wandered if I am missing out, or if itd be easier to fly on 4:3 because I could see more in the up and down direction.
drumrboynoid
Yep 4.3 is taller, and too narrow for my liking.
To each their own.
How do you like the Sky02C compared to Aomway Commander V1? i have the commander v1. is it worth the "upgrade"?
Lurifax RC it’s worth the upgrade. The reception is better, the dvr is hands down better. I was drawn to these for the price.
I’m happy and would by the oled newer model if you can swing it.
@@YotaGuy_Kyle i prefer 16:9 as you ;) so maybe order the 02C.Better dvr is a huge plus!
Nice, im just looking for new goggles in that price range! :)
Fat shark and Ev200d if you want modules.
I still like my 200’s and they work well hooked up a pc.
love my 200's with rapidfire module battery lasts a long time
Great vid JB.
I don't know what that sentence means. Crossfire doesn't interact with the goggles at all.
Sorry I am new to fpv and I’m still wrapping my head around the terminology. I meant to say rapid fire module, or am I wrong on that too?
Cant wait for range test. What goggles were in the V5 comparison video?... The image was awful. Thanks JB.
The V5 comparison showed the commander V1S
@@JoshuaBardwell I knew it. Thanks JB
You didn't mention that since these are typically bought by someone a little newer to the hobby than a long term flyer, they might just need /want to practice a lot to get good at flying. So, the Simulators are a superb way to do this. Something all veteran fliers highly recommend. 👍
The Aomway's work great with sims.
Lol
*When it comes right down to comparing these goggles, I'll be the first to say, none of them are a real good choice.* That's because using that Rapidfire module is a GAME CHANGER!
And since I can't use the simulator, because it doesn't have an HDMI port, that counts them out too,
So, I wait until someone comes out with the whole package without paying the, IMO rip off price of the HDO's. I've flown with them, and they were ok, but I wasn't even close to impressed. I feel they are around $150-200 over priced. And, for $500, still no power button... An on /off switch! Geeez! 🤔😵 To me they performed like they should cost about $50 more than any of these goggles. No more.
jesus chill out dude

Great video Joshua! Why doesn’t anyone ever mention the fan u have to plug a 2s balance port in ? I do not own the FatShark but I feel that would bother me. Do u find it a down side ?
What about the falcon fg02??
$289 with no module, IMO puts them out of this price range. But solid goggles.
Joshua Bardwell do falcons win against these all? I want to know your opinion.
I bought the flysight fg02 and have been using them for two months now. I use the eachine pro58 module with them and have been really happy. No drawbacks so far

How long ago did you purchase the ev200d and have you done the dvr firmware up date?
These decisions on goggles are always very tough. When I needed a new set of goggles I went with the Fatsharks because of the support. I still not think they are worth the price but knowing that I can get them repaired if something goes wrong makes me feel a little better......but just a little. Hopefully the competition will up their game in the support department so the next time I need a new set I have some better options ;-) Thanks for the comparisons. See you in the Air!

What is 16:10? You do 4:3 or 16:9 or both. How is great customer service gonna help me live with a distorted image?
Pretty pathetic if a company that specializes on goggles can't do switchable 4:3/16:9 they are no longer the best at their game.
fatshark broke my heart when the did this and they couldn't even give me a dam hdmi for the simulator to plug into for those rainy days
The goggle should show the entire screen. If it doesn't, that's a defect. The fact that you can work around it doesn't make it not a defect.
@@JoshuaBardwell any response to my thoughts?
I got my ev200d from getfpv and they have good support..And I think it is 30 day for defects
Sickocrow 6s plugin?? Lol did it smoke?
Oh no, that’s not good, hope it didn’t take too long to get it back. I’ve got the skyzone 02+ goggles, supposedly you can use up to 6s, but I’m not going to try, just in case, I have used 4s batteries, from a big twin engine warbird and they lasted for hours.
@@iwan6841 oh yes. I was using the FURIOUSFPV cable and forgot to swap out packs. Skyzones can actually take 6S

Great video Joshua, really helped me chossing the correct ones!
Which one did you choose and are you happy with your choice today?
I'm not associated with any manufacturer so I can safety say the Commander V1S hands down.
Waiting on my bills to go down.. Hoping one day to get a pair. Great vid Josh.
I wish you could also compare face plates in these to judge which can possibly fit a big head better for example
Wore out my EV800 then EV800D. Almost went ev200d but don't trust BGood nor the quality. Saved up another month+ and stepped up to HD3/rapid fire. Rock solid - love it with my Monster V2 cam.
I am from India. I want to buy aomway v1s. The banggood link does not work. Where should i get them from without excess shipping costs??
Finally, you admitted it, the skyzone is better value, and probably the best looking screen and looks really cool with the graphics. I knew you’d have to say it. If I didn’t have a skyzone v02+ already, which is almost brand new, I’d get the skyzone, but I’d probably only get the 02c version, don’t need the front camera, although I must admit I have used them on a couple of occasions, plus I’m not sure if I’ll ever use the head tracking or 3D.
I'm so glad you liked the review.
Took too long to release mate, still love it
I’ve got a set of Attitude V5 googles but did I make a great choice 🧐🤨
Fatsharks like the old "Base", that I still use, had some very shoddy parts. I think Fatshark have had more time to evolve but otherwise they are no better quality than most.
Josh: It looks like you have a decent nearsighted glasses prescription, like me. When I got my setup I got a set of Viper box goggles, because I thought that I had to. And they work well enough. But after watching your video I would like to know how your vision works with the various non box goggles. Do you do just fine with all of them if you lift your glasses out of the way?
ua-cam.com/video/F6ElpFr-4d8/v-deo.html
Glass wearer and Sky02 x/c.. On box goggles I had to install 2.25 magnifier (Carson Visormag 2.25x power) to create a focused image. How or what is required on these goggles.
And I really like the screens
absolutely fantastic video thanks joshua
Hi Joshua .. when we can see your review of the Flysight Falcon SG02? They are in the same price tag and I read a lot of good comments but nothing on UA-cam
What about which of these goggles comes with in their packaging? I think this is an important factor that you missed the opportunity in mentioning, especially for those of us who are new to FPV. Build quality is important of course, but included accessories can either make it or break it! By "it," I mean the $Bank...
The Aomways with quad antennaes... Isn't that more radiation as well as sucking battery power? Which goggle drains the slowest?
Thanks for that informative comparison, a little information goes a long way to making a difficult decision.
The skyzone is the color of this googles better then dominator v3? The dvr and module are good? Should I change my dominator v3 for that?
Aomways are $178 at Banggood. Jump on that fast. Use the link above.
Coming from the ev100's I'm looking between the sky's and fatsharks. But which ones have a brighter screens. I always am wishing for a much brighter screen with the eachine 100's.
Why is there no Amazon affiliate link for the attitude v5's? I love your channel and wish to support in this way. Happy flying!
Great review! Thanks!
Now I'm curious how this new SkyZone holds op against the latest Sky03. Value for money?
Good customer support goes a long way. Fat sharks are the way to go
Joshua: FYI, the DVR from my EV200D spits out 720 x 480 video.
