My friends think I'm strange, because I love to shop in grocery stores. I consider this activity my 'sport.' I bring home all kinds of food and try to figure out what to do with them.
Fortunately, now I live on the West Coast of the US, and there are many fine Asian grocery stores here. I cannot understand a single word, but I go by what things look like, and I take photos of food on UA-cam and go in search of them. It gives me a fun and exciting thing to do, both to find, and to eat.
Thank you for feeding my habit, and giving me more to look for!!!

Thank you for your suggestions. I would like to add dashi in sachets, so versatile and convenient with a variety of different seaweeds from different parts of Japan and mentaiko in a tube for toast, dried octopus snacks, grape fruit gummies…I fully enjoy food browsing in Japan and just giving a go at something new. Last time I visited a supermarket with a tour guide😊as part of our day exploring, took pictures of the new things that interested me and once on my own made the purchases.

I love these kind of shows along with gadgets. Most fave is train and walking shows. I wanted the instant Sushi rice flavoring for 70 cents so I immediately went to Amazon and it was close to 6 dollars for one pack. Shocking. With that kind of markup you guys could open your own store.

I'm Japanese-Filipino and my kids are half Chinese. We have most of your recommendations in our pantry! We LOVE gohandesayo but it is so expensive here and we can eat the whole jar in one sitting. I love the mentaiko pasta packets too but again, sooo expensive (about $5 a packet). We love both of you, as well as your sister's channel.

Excellent videos. I also love and stock up on that particular brand of dashii: it is the best I have found. I will be back in Japan in December and have added many things to my shopping list thanks to these two videos. Have you done a video comparing all the different types of miso? I am always confused which types are best for which dishes. Again, thank you for this video. Domo arigato goziumus!
