      Just the way I explain it. Whole foods plant based high fiber nutritionally dence diet blended whole juice smoothie soups Salad Stews grain's beans nuts and seeds plenty of water work out praying fasting meditation plenty of sleep destress add B12 supplement coverers everything fat's carbs and protein. From my research and studying seeking knowledge on this topic. I had the surgery at 285 lbs been over 8 or 9 years ago. Holding at 200 to 205 . I slip up about every 60 to 90 days on the meat. It's a process and a struggle. That's why I pray and meditation to help me with the cravings for steak and fried chicken my down fall . I did get off HBP HBS and cholesterol meds. My numbers are under control. Got to take it up to the next level. It's simple but it's not easy. Hang in there soldiers

    I recently read How Not to Die, the daily dozen checklist seriously made it easy to follow this lifestyle. It’s challenging to get all boxes checked off. That’s why I ended up prepping my meals four days ahead, and buy fruit that will ripen up when I need them.

    I have to agree it will be 3 years for me this year all Praises to God. Because they told me I had Graves’ disease but once I went vegan 🌱 it will be 3 years this year I have not had it. It’s all in the mind you can do it, just add colors to your food to make it fun like peppers 🫑 that’s what I did when I started out and still do. I wish everyone the best of luck if you staying this- and remember you got this❤️

    Thanks for the video. I normally eat whole-food plant based, but sometimes I meat and junk food to give myself a break. I also do calorie counting to stay at a healthy weight. If I end up overeating, I'll try to eat whole food plant based and try to avoid junk food.

    Clear, short, and to-the-point. Great stuff. Just remember to tell your viewers to take an occasional B12 / "B-Complex" supplement. Being vegan (for ethical reasons, but I do appreciate the health education you provide), I take the "Dr. Fuhrman Men's Daily" (I only take one caplet approx once a day, but sometimes skip).

      protein is gotten from legumes like chick peas, lentils and beans. also there is a good amount of protein in nuts, even oatmeal is 15% protein. You also do not need excess protein, adequate protein can be gotten from plant sources

    Very easy to understand

    As i would like to get off the machine
    Thanks

    • @mamasshrimp422
      @mamasshrimp422 3 роки тому

      Hey Michael! If you have not already, give a plant based diet a chance. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have made in improving my health and it happened very quickly, I am talking about I could feel the difference within days and saw the difference in a couple of weeks. Also, I have a family member with sleep apnea and I was going to suggest he try the same, a WFPB lifestyle, to see if his condition improved. I tell people, if you already have a chronic condition of any kind, you need to run to this lifestyle. I wish you the best of health !

    I'm still shocked that so many people lost their way and forgot that a healthy diet includes plant-based foods. Then again people ignored eating healthy and started eating the Western Diet-Standard American Diet which is 'heavy' in Processed packaged Foods, Fast-Foods, Meat & Dairy, and Less or NO plants at all. I grew up on a diet heavy in plants & herbs so it's my usual and normal way of eating NOT some new discovery. *Over-consumption* of Packaged processed foods, Fast-foods, Meat & Dairy gets in the way of more whole foods, Plant-based foods in your diet.

    Hi Dr. Seun, thanks for the video. I am a RNY patient, almost 3 mos. post-op. I ate a pescetarian diet before surgery. Now I want to be WFPB. My surgeon's team has a lovely nutritionist but she doesn't believe I can get enough protein from that diet, especially since my quantities per meal are only around 1-1.5 cups of food. She wants me eating animal products like chicken, egg whites, fish, and dairy. How can I convince her that bariatric patients can get their needs met through a WFPB diet, or at least find a meal plan for myself which is appropriate for post-surgery living?
