I started a plant-based whole foods diet several years ago and never looked back. I avoid oils as well. This (plus daily exercise) changed my whole body. No more joint pain or acid reflux. I was amazed at how much it affected me.
I started the "Plant-based diet" 4 weeks ago, so I had an appointment with my doctor 3 weeks after I started the PL diet. My doctor was shocked to see that all my "stats" for "high blood pressure and thyroids" were so far down until my doctor was shocked. She asked me "what did I do", so I told her "I had started the plant based diet" and would NEVER turn back to "bad eating and horrible medications". She was happy, but she seemed a little confused, so she made an appointment for me to return in six weeks, and if my "vitals" were still down to normal, she would take me of the "meds". I'm looking forward to returning to her, and she can eliminate these "horrible meds with lots of "side affects". I will NEVER be off this "plant-based" way of eating. I FEEL WONDERFUL AND WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THIS HEALTHY WAY OF EATING, and by the way I don't miss eating "meat, dairy, and oils".
She’s not lying. I was on high blood pressure medication and on my way to diabetes. Went plant-based two years ago lost 20 pounds and all my numbers are normal.
I am 66 yrs young and I am a vegan for over 15 months now. I feel great! And I am grateful for all the blessings and benefits of not eating meat nor dairy. Thank you for spreading the true facts to wellness. 😊
You're a Vegan, or you're plant based? Makes a difference. Vegan is a lifestyle that eschews leather, killing bugs, etc. They are often ill from eating vegan junk/processed foods. Whole foods, plant based, eat whole foods from plants only, with also happens to help the animals, and the planet. I never call myself a vegan because I think there is still some leather in my life, and I do kill ant, spiders, mice, gophers, etc. I'm working on it. To each his own, but I feel wonderful eating only what grows from the ground. As little processing as possible. Nice to imagine that you are both.
I just dropped 1 size going plant base for the last 4 weeks, and I'm 54, never gone hungry and I haven't worked out as I should!!... I thought I was having a metabolism problem because of aging... and it turns out, for me, eating whole foods plant base is keeping me healthy and trim!! I can't believe the energy it's giving me!!! 🙏🙏🙏😋😋😁
Maybe they can use more scientific language to try and solve the riddler...that is "sv3rige", who claims that a plant based diet isn't healthy in the long term. Not only that but I'd like for someone on the Physicians Committee to talk more about what eating raw "grass fed" meat could do to your health. Whether it'd be beneficial or dangerous. Someone on the PE needs to get onto this!
Really enjoy the interview. I look forward to you having the doctor back again she’s extremely knowledgeable and I feel like we’re getting the best cutting-edge information straight from the source.
Best eating plan for humans hands down! I was looking to get rid of inflammation when I came down with pain from an autoimmune disease. After a year of pain and failure I tried a WFPB diet and that was it! I was pain free!!! I also lost 15 lbs in the first two months... by accident. I was already a normal weight. The biggest surprise ever was that after a year on this diet I found I was free if all my food addictions! I will never go back to a SAD diet!
An excellent video, covering many key points with clarity. Food is an emotive issue, so no surprise to see some spats. The bottom line is that the PCRM and various researchers who support it have done their work, and the science behind the low-fat, whole foods vegan diet is solid. It doesn't mean one should become a fanatic over it. Being 100% is very difficult in the modern world and requires such effort and vigilance that this sometimes tips over into obsessiveness. It's better to follow the diet at say the 80-90% level, and allow some flexibility for eating out and travelling, than to try and be 100% compliant and possibly end up with new issues caused by a rigid mindset that does not make any realistic allowances for occasional "lapses". Being overly rigid and obsessive could well end up in abandoning the diet altogether, when the realistic solution is to step back, relax and be realistic and flexible. When someone decides to transition to vegan, the path is unique and personal. I've come across or read about too many judgmental food nazis whose approach to people they see as "noncompliant" or "backsliding" has more to do with ideological, rigid dogmatism and a convert's fanatical scrutiny of "sinners", than with a rational approach to improving diet. Going vegan is not a competition. It is not a race to see who gets there fastest. It is not about gaining kudos for being 100% "pure". It is not about doing penance when you supposedly "fail". It is not about obsessing about food every waking hour. It is not about obsessing over what someone else eats. It is not about preaching aggressively to gain converts to your food ideology. It is not about attacking others for their food choices. You are not responsible for anyone's diet except your own.
She is wonderful. Her explanation of what the fat does to the cells to keep the insulin from doing it's job is priceless. Makes me want to keep the dietary fat even lower than I have been. This diet isn't just for losing weight, it's for improving life. Fortunately, I've been able to pass on buying avocados lately. I feel better. Who knows if that is a contributor, but works for me, for now. I have some weight to lose, so have to be realistic, and at my age, there's no room for playing around. Have to eat to get as much nutrition as possible. Thank you both for the questions and especially the answers from our esteemed guest. Hope you have her on more.
I've been losing weight on WFPB for 3 months now. This week I started using chronometer just to see if I'm getting the nutrients I need. According to this app, I am eating too many calories to lose even a pound of weight. This week I lost 2 pounds lol. Love this WOE 🖤💜🖤💜
That is a good one. I have wanted a study for that. There was a prison study Dr. Greger talked about where they tried to get skinny prisoners to gain 30 pounds and it only took 40,000 extra calories on a high-fat diet but it took 130,000 calories on a low fat, high carb diet. I am wondering if plant-based would be an even greater difference.
Seriously impressed by this interview. It's always reassuring to hear that I'm on the right track. I could listen to Hana all day. Well done Chuck for inviting such excellent speakers.
Thanks again Chuck... can always count on you for great nutrition topics. "...our natural food is that which grows out of the ground." ~ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Baha'i Faith
John Constantin with respect as I am trying to form an opinion that may have a huge effect on my health. Is your comment qualified or a belief based on what you have heard? Is this video not giving information from qualified people from a medical/scientific field?
Lesley Oliver Lol how is that gonna have a huge effect on your health? wtf are you eating that you wouldnt get arginine and you can just google what I said it takes 3 secs to confirm it And just getting a amino acid class wrong from of the top of your head means nothing when it comes to qualification or weither you are wrong or right lol She has a PhD so by definition she is at least qualified But she is also correct in what she says about research here if you want to know that
Peter.plantfueled. Lima Pretty dogmatic. You heard here what the acceptable daily parameters recommended on a vegan diet are for plant fats from all sources. Of course, getting that amount from nuts, seeds avocados, et al, is preferable, but don't condemn those who enjoy a little vegan butter on their toast every now and then.
Frenchblue8 Well its not dogmatic if its based on research and if you go on pubmed there is mixed conclusions but 100% of interventional trials on oil just show negative effects Saying there is a tolerance just means its bad but you can recover ...doesnt mean its optimal Thats like saying one cigarette a month doesnt matter so it must be healthy
auggiedoggy „Doing just fine“ isnt scientific and veganism has nothing to do with avoiding oils If you are talking about the study on the „meditaranian diet“ if you actually read it, they examined a very specific group of people that were very poor and did not consume a lot of animal products or oil Perfectly in line with recommendations of the WHO, ADA, ACC, ABCN etc. And there is a big difference between what you think is „just fine“ and the optimal recommendation based on the best evidence No one claimed 1g of any oil will straight kill you on the spot
polyunsaturated oils slow down metabolism, inhibit oxidative phosphorylation, lower thyroid and mitochondria function, they are hepatotoxic, required for alcoholic liver cirrhosis, sensitise us to UV light radiation causing skin burning, create vitamin E deficiency, increase inflammation by lipid peroxidative damage, they also create toxic fragments, aldehydes, they're carcinogenic.. I would not even eat much whole food fats for this reason.
Phil Griffiths none of the effects you mentioned - without any source btw - are observed with whole plant foods

Actually I think arginine is classified as a semiessential or conditionally essential amino acid, depending on the developmental stage and health status of the individual. Still very cool information =)
Luís Miguel You are correct although I always thought that classification is stupid bc you need arginine to recover better from wounds etc. ...so basically you need it if you are living
6 років тому+1
Yeah and things are mutable, it's possible that we will come to realize that actually it's essential.. I don't have the right knowledge to argue this issue but being an activist I trained myself to stick to the unquestionable facts. Many times I've seen entire debates with many solid arguments be ignored just because of one little "technicality" =] But anyway, thanks for replying!
The metabolism thing is true. Before I was vegan I had to eat only 1500 calories or Less to stay the same weight but now I eat around 2000 calories and I've put on a few pounds but its muscle not fat. (I know this cuz I can see that I look way leaner)
For some reason, Dr. Greger tells people to avoid it -- maybe because it's salty? I see nothing wrong with a teaspoon or so on salads. I get the mild kind though.
Benjamin Bojang I. Use 1/4 cup of gochucaru korean chilliflakes to a smaller batch, they are very spicy (I used to use a cup in a large batch but make less amount now)
auggiedoggy something funny you read? Check out people like Dr. Neal Barnard, Mimi Kirk, Lillian Muller, Karyn Calabrese, and especially, Annette Larkins, all exceot Mimi~have been plant based vegan for 20-40 plus years. You only hope you will look half as good at their ages` they range in age from 64-early 80s
auggiedoggy yeh, well, when you're 14, you're supposed look young. Are you saying "everyone" tells you you look 7 or 8? It's gonna really suck when you want to buy beer and they think your ID is fake. Damn those genetics, tho
One point I heard from another youtube video is that whole food, plant based diets are also usually low in calories for the same sensation of satiety. Apparently, vegan diets tend to be 500+ calories lower, and vegetarian diets around 200-300. So this could be a confounding variable that drives a lot of the benefits from plat based diets. Calorie reduction usually has a short-term positive effect on metabolic diseases, but it might have long term consequences. Something to think about.
One of the long term consequences is longer life span. Calorie restriction diets with no other factors (even s.a.d. diets) trigger some things like telomerase and such in humans. Though if it actually increases life span is not 100% clear. (at the very least, in rats that were bred to be overweight and had shorter lifespans, calorie restriction normalized their life span, though we're not rats or bred for obesity, and getting a normal lifespan back is not the same as increasing normal lifespan)
Also with veganism, one does not have to worry about the extra sanitation practices surrounding the handling of raw meat...although I would still wash plant foods carefully.
Great video I’m a new subscriber! I’ve been plant based for 4 days now lol! I’m tracking my progress and meal preps on my channel 😄 May 1st I’m doing a check in from 30 days plant based! I can’t wait!
I watch you all the time. I think you have had Dr Brooke Goldner on before but wish you could have her again. She helps so many people get rid of all their pain and meds and diseases! Thanks.
vesperal2 Dr. Esselstyn's diet suggest six meals of greens per day with a little balsamic vinegar (just drops really)...it is a diet specific for cardiovascular patients...but it works for diabetics, too...has worked for me a cardio patient and for my diabetic mother. Big plus...i lost 40 lbs in 5 months!
I eat 3-4 per day. The key is not to eat until your body tells you. If you go to lunch with friends or at work and aren't hungry, eat just a little. You'll see your body develop a very regular schedule in terms of telling you when you're hungry. I eat my dinner no later than 7pm and I'm not hungry until around 10am or so the next day.
I'm afraid that when people hear they should not have more than 20-30g of fat/day on a vegan diet, they understand that they can add 20-30g of oil ! But you will easily get 20-30g of fat on a vegan diet simply by eating WFPB !
Dr. Kahleova, I understand we have a mutual friend. Here's my thing. I had to go back to eating at most, 6oz of red meat, 2X a week. That, and intermittent fasting, has caused me to lose fat, build muscle, and boost my attention, and energy.
Do you have videos/podcasts/pages of why you should eat more fruit? As you know fruit is totally trashed by the sponsored reports. Thanks. I want to send to people.
Why do people use Keto diets to control their diabetes? UA-camr athomewithmisty insists lettuce raises her blood sugar and she does Keto? Is thst possible?
Kara Hamil check out the most recent YT video from Miles @Healthy Crazy Cool ~ he did a supervised, 21 day, vegan keto experiment. One thing he mentioned was having to cut way down on Romaine lettuce~ one of his fave leafy greens~ for this exact reason.
Kara Hamil all vegetables contain some carbs but most modern keto diets allow unlimited leafy vegetables. Their fibre reduces blood sugar impacts. See Dr Berg. Also Dr Greger talked about a high fat vegan diet. I think as long as your diet is whole plant based, being keto can be healthy. It also restricts your grain consumption. Many grains are pro-inflammatory
Little Voice Lol their fiber ...keto diets make you go out of your way to reduce fiber intake but its supposed to have great amounts of fiber lmao Plus there is no evidence to suggest any whole grain is „pro inflammatory“ consumed by a healthy person
you should really look into what it's doing for you though. completely empty calories from a highly processed product. personally, if it's not going to benefit my body then I won't eat it.
We do need fat in our diets. But if you eat a variety of whole plant foods, you'll get all the fat you need. There is fat in every single unprocessed plant food, even if only in trace amounts. People advocating a low fat diet are not promoting a NO-fat diet; that's impossible without eating only highly processed foods, and nobody would ever advocate that. The "low fat" diet that people talk about isn't really "low fat", it's just "lower fat than modern high fat diets". The "low fat" diet is just the human's natural, optimal diet, and it does include fat, which is why we have developed bodies that use fat and have organs, fluids, and processes to metabolize fat.
Exactly, 10-15% cal from fat is great for most people barring health conditions and most Americans eat about twice that if not more. A "low fat diet" is just a "correct amount of fat" diet.
Alex Reynolds Well I agree but have to mention macro nutrients in % of daily energy intake is rather unscientific 0,7-1g (m) 0,9-1,2g (f) per kg of lean body mass is much more accurate
Well if you follow the math, gram per kg of body weight, and percentage of calories are different ways of saying the same thing. People generally need a certain number of calories total per kg of body weight and a certain number of grams of fat per body weight, which you can calculate into percentage of total calories.
The body is amazing cause God made it that way ! This kinda amazing functionality doesn't come into existence on its own it's creative that way fearfully and wonderfully made God is awesome. We are living breathing example of God's existence how much more evidence does people need? We are his masterpiece
She starts out using the term plant based and a minute later she says there are benefits in going vegan. Plant based isn't necessarily vegan. In fact there are no studies, whether population or otherwise that show a plant based vegan diet allows you to live longer than one that contains animal products. The long lived people on this planet over the last two hundred years weren't and aren't vegan. Those are the Blue Zone folks. There just never has been a population that's been vegan in history and therefore it's a crap shoot whether veganism plant based is better or worse than plant based omnivore. Only time will tell. As it stands right now you're better off with the proven way, which is plant based omnivore. Also a major benefit of plant based omnivore is that you don't need to take any chemical supplements or plant based analogs like B12, D, and K2. Notice that during the entire discussion they keep mixing plant based and vegan as if it's the same thing. It obviously is not. And the highest levels of arginine unlike what this lady tells us aren't in plants although they contain plenty. The highest levels of arginine are in animal products, in particular turkey and pork. Plant based diets vegan or otherwise don't raise your metabolism. She's spouting nonsense on that bit. Oh yeah, what she fails to mention is that every excess calories consumed from carbs is turned into saturated fat and stored on your body. And it is turn that most omega 3 and 6 is stored as those fats and not converted as are carbs. Notice that after all her talk about reversing type 2 diabetics at minute 15 she admits that anyone already diabetic was disqualified from participating in their latest study. Let's face it any diet including Paleo and low carb will show up better than the standard American diet which the control group ate. They didn't dare compare a healthy omnivore diet against a vegan plant based diet.
What an enlightening interview!! Thank you so much, Chuck, for having Dr Hana on! I've been vegan for several years, but only lost about 20 pounds, over all, out of 120 I needed to lose. I've felt SO frustrated, especially when I see other people go vegan and lose 80 pounds or more in a year! After watching this interview, though, I realize I've been eating way too much fat, even though I mostly eat whole foods plant based! I checked on Cronometer (I don't document my meals every day, but often enough that I can see trends), and my fat intake has been much more than 20-30 grams a day! I'm going to be changing that, today!
Jilleybean, that is a common error. I did the same thing. I was eating oil-free hummus and guacamole every day and I couldn't lose weight at all with those in my diet.
I also would say that the processed vegan foods are generally horrible for weight loss. I like putting crumbles in vegan chili but there are so many brands out and some of them are seriously high fat. I found that Boca crumbles had no fat and the whole bag was 360 calories which made it easier to not make mistakes but their crumbles are hard to find. Someone told me that Bob's Red Mills has a TVP which is supposed to be similar. But I used to add some of the faux meats in and most of them are easy to find out that you ate 2 servings instead of one. Labels have such tiny writing that I have been burned a lot over the years.
High carb vegan diets are not the best option for diabetes. It just seems that way because of the reduction of processed carbs and sugar, way more vegetable (increases potassium intake which improves insulin sensitivity) and reduces protein intake (reduces gluconeogenesis). But a low carb high fat moderate protein diet is better, independent of if you eat animal products or not. Just keep protein intake at around 20% of total calories. Intermittent fasting is ridiculously difficult on high carb diets. And you need to do IF to get rid of insulin resistance. Just my opinion.
there's no reason to count calories or carbs on a whole plant food based diet. so long as people do it wisely, ie don't eat a dozen dates in a sitting, don't use 3 bananas as your breakfast, etc. their sugar levels and insulin resistance will not be an issue. fasting wise, don't eat until you're hungry. I eat my last meal before 7pm and don't eat breakfast the next day until my body tells me it's hungry which is usually around 10am. I eat lunch around 1-2pm which is when my body tends to tell me.
It's not exaggeration. I did a vegan challenge diet years ago and within 3 DAYS it lowered my blood sugar from the lower end of the diabetic blood sugar range to normal. After 3 weeks on it, the readings were stable well, well under that initial normal range. I went back on the vegan diet recently. Again, I noted significant changes within just 3 days. If you haven't gone overnight from a typical Western diet to a vegan diet, you wouldn't be likely to notice such drastic changes. But they are reported, again and again, by people who have gone cold turkey.
Dan Ciambor so people are increasing insulin sensitivity on plant based diet yet it increases insulin resistance? Seriously do about 30 seconds of research
Hmmm... let's see, what builds insulin resistance? More glucose which prompts more insulin production. What helps with building insulin sensitivity? Keeping insulin levels low through low carbohydrate eating plans and intermittent fasting. Yeah, again, I'll stick with the ketogenic diet since it's been PROVEN to improve insulin sensitivity and not give it's followers sissy vegan girl arms. ;-)
Dan, you need to do just a bit of research to realize that a plant based way of living will fix your insulin resistances and be much healthier for you overall. I'm glad Keto is working for you but there's zero need to reduce carbs and ingest much higher levels of fats given there is a much more fun and healthier way of achieving your weight loss and overall health.
George Ale she is from Barnard "team". They promote plant based, not vegan. It's vegan people who jump on the plant based diet wagon then make it theirs.
My sister always told me that I was lucky I had faster metabolism than her, but now I have proof that it's because of my diet! She uses her slow metabolism as an excuse, but all she has to do is change what she's eating.
I started a plant-based whole foods diet several years ago and never looked back. I avoid oils as well. This (plus daily exercise) changed my whole body. No more joint pain or acid reflux. I was amazed at how much it affected me.

OIl is very good for hair and wooden furniture!
But from time to time I have oil, too.
In this society we can´t avoid it.
best thing we can do is take additional vitamin E when we eat at restaurants, the addition of PUFAs raises the need for it.
honest bob - Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn „Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease"
or Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. John McDougall and others.
honest bob - your welcome! Dr. Michael Klaper is very good for information aswell.
Thank you for this informative and well done podcast. The audio is professional and easy to listen to. The pace and questions are just right.
Wow really good questions being asked in this interview 👍😀🌶🌶
Great interview! Great info!
This was great....I like the new look/format too
No oil, it's processed food
Peter.plantfueled. Lima
Pretty dogmatic. You heard here what the acceptable daily parameters recommended on a vegan diet are for plant fats from all sources.
Of course, getting that amount from nuts, seeds avocados, et al, is preferable, but don't condemn those who enjoy a little vegan butter on their toast every now and then.
Frenchblue8
Well its not dogmatic if its based on research and if you go on pubmed there is mixed conclusions but 100% of interventional trials on oil just show negative effects
Saying there is a tolerance just means its bad but you can recover ...doesnt mean its optimal
Thats like saying one cigarette a month doesnt matter so it must be healthy
auggiedoggy
„Doing just fine“ isnt scientific and veganism has nothing to do with avoiding oils
If you are talking about the study on the „meditaranian diet“ if you actually read it, they examined a very specific group of people that were very poor and did not consume a lot of animal products or oil
Perfectly in line with recommendations of the WHO, ADA, ACC, ABCN etc.
And there is a big difference between what you think is „just fine“ and the optimal recommendation based on the best evidence
No one claimed 1g of any oil will straight kill you on the spot
polyunsaturated oils slow down metabolism, inhibit oxidative phosphorylation, lower thyroid and mitochondria function, they are hepatotoxic, required for alcoholic liver cirrhosis, sensitise us to UV light radiation causing skin burning, create vitamin E deficiency, increase inflammation by lipid peroxidative damage, they also create toxic fragments, aldehydes, they're carcinogenic..
Luís Miguel
You are correct although I always thought that classification is stupid bc you need arginine to recover better from wounds etc. ...so basically you need it if you are living
Yeah and things are mutable, it's possible that we will come to realize that actually it's essential.. I don't have the right knowledge to argue this issue but being an activist I trained myself to stick to the unquestionable facts. Many times I've seen entire debates with many solid arguments be ignored just because of one little "technicality" =] But anyway, thanks for replying!
things are classed as essential when we cannot manufacturer it and assume are required based on experiments
Phil Griffiths but we cant make arginine
yes it is essential
So true!! I have MHTHR and I felt better in 3 days!
I love this talk 👏🙏🇩🇰 thank you so much
Thank you for this. I have been researching coconut oil. I have Hashimoto’s and some say consume coconut oil and others disagree. What do you think?
I need your help to start my diet on Plant base diet I really really need that diet please
Wow great information thank you
The metabolism thing is true. Before I was vegan I had to eat only 1500 calories or Less to stay the same weight but now I eat around 2000 calories and I've put on a few pounds but its muscle not fat. (I know this cuz I can see that I look way leaner)
Great information. Thank you.
I wish that the NHS would use this! Not just drugs! 😊🇬🇧😊🌈😊
Thanks for importent knowles 👍👏🙏🇩🇰
Excellent podcast
nuts and and avocados are fine in moderation but I wouldn’t add oil to foods
Very good informative video..I have a question Is spicy kimchi healthy or not?
Annelie Leijon how much spice are we talking about?
For some reason, Dr. Greger tells people to avoid it -- maybe because it's salty? I see nothing wrong with a teaspoon or so on salads. I get the mild kind though.
Benjamin Bojang I. Use 1/4 cup of gochucaru korean chilliflakes to a smaller batch, they are very spicy (I used to use a cup in a large batch but make less amount now)
+ 20 garlic cloves it mixes with the glutenous riceporridge and ginger pear. Etc
spicy kimchi is excellent but it's recommended you make it homemade if ur sodium conscious
Love this talk 🙏🌷
No mention of what weight loss, if any, there was in the non-wfpbd group, which was unfortunate. (I suspect it was either non-existent or minimal)
The best part of being plant-based is that I will look like a 20-something FOREVER!
And you will not only looke like that from the outside.
The inside has the same young apearence as the outside.
Meh depends on your genetics
and even then its more like „is he 40 or 60 I cant tell“
auggiedoggy something funny you read?
Check out people like Dr. Neal Barnard, Mimi Kirk, Lillian Muller, Karyn Calabrese, and especially, Annette Larkins, all exceot Mimi~have been plant based vegan for 20-40 plus years. You only hope you will look half as good at their ages` they range in age from 64-early 80s
Until your hair turns gray. A WFPB diet can't prevent that.
auggiedoggy yeh, well, when you're 14, you're supposed look young. Are you saying "everyone" tells you you look 7 or 8?
It's gonna really suck when you want to buy beer and they think your ID is fake.
Damn those genetics, tho
Very smart guest.
Excellent information
Barnard says to keep oils low
I watch you all the time. I think you have had Dr Brooke Goldner on before but wish you could have her again. She helps so many people get rid of all their pain and meds and diseases! Thanks.
How many meals a day should one on a plant-based diet?
vesperal2 Dr.
Thanks!
Lovely doctor!!!
I'm on a plant based diet and can't lose weight. Any help out there?
Drink teas, use more cooking water, experiment with foods that make you fuller than others, try eating a raw or cooked veggies, ect
@@cigileyAtTR I am. Thank you.
Eat in a time resisted window starting early, for instance, eating from 10am to 3pm
@@RobertaPeck Thank you.
Stay rooted, my friends!
Totally correct - The science is well explained & researched by Dr Michael Greger at Nutritionfacts.org
I'm 27 days in.
Coronary patients. I wear a Nitro glycerin patch for 12 hours so I can breathe easier. Reverse heart disease.
WE WANT MORE MORE MORE! :D!!!
Vegan for the win 🐮🐣🐷🐰🐣.
Why do people use Keto diets to control their diabetes? UA-camr athomewithmisty insists lettuce raises her blood sugar and she does Keto? Is thst possible?
Kara Hamil
check out the most recent YT video from Miles @Healthy Crazy Cool ~ he did a supervised, 21 day, vegan keto experiment. One thing he mentioned was having to cut way down on Romaine lettuce~ one of his fave leafy greens~ for this exact reason.
Lol lettuce even is keto ...like keto people eat veggies there is so little carbs in veggies
Wtf are these insane people you listen too
Kara Hamil all vegetables contain some carbs but most modern keto diets allow unlimited leafy vegetables. Their fibre reduces blood sugar impacts. See Dr Berg. Also Dr Greger talked about a high fat vegan diet. I think as long as your diet is whole plant based, being keto can be healthy. It also restricts your grain consumption. Many grains are pro-inflammatory
Little Voice
Lol their fiber ...keto diets make you go out of your way to reduce fiber intake but its supposed to have great amounts of fiber lmao
Plus there is no evidence to suggest any whole grain is „pro inflammatory“ consumed by a healthy person
John Constantin agree. whole grains pro inflammatory? Keto/Paleo nonsense
Plantbased diet is NOTthe same as vegan
I could look at her eyes all day, beautiful.
Olive oil will never leave my diet.
you should really look into what it's doing for you though. completely empty calories from a highly processed product. personally, if it's not going to benefit my body then I won't eat it.
If you are not sick and don’t want to heal anything then so be it.
I doubt it will cause a problem but it certainly won’t help to heal one
With regard to fat consumption, why do we make bile and have a gallbladder? What about the fat soluble vitamins ADE and K?
There is a huge difference between enough fat and the giant disgusting amounts people consume today
Exactly, 10-15% cal from fat is great for most people barring health conditions and most Americans eat about twice that if not more. A "low fat diet" is just a "correct amount of fat" diet.
Alex Reynolds
Well I agree but have to mention macro nutrients in % of daily energy intake is rather unscientific
0,7-1g (m) 0,9-1,2g (f) per kg of lean body mass is much more accurate
Well if you follow the math, gram per kg of body weight, and percentage of calories are different ways of saying the same thing. People generally need a certain number of calories total per kg of body weight and a certain number of grams of fat per body weight, which you can calculate into percentage of total calories.
The body is amazing cause God made it that way ! This kinda amazing functionality doesn't come into existence on its own it's creative that way fearfully and wonderfully made God is awesome. We are living breathing example of God's existence how much more evidence does people need? We are his masterpiece
30 Grams of Vegetable Oil =
2.20 Tablespoons
Yep, 270 empty calories
Who the hell wants to live longer with what's going on in the world. Not me.
💚
I use oil but just a bit and I cook med-low heat, that’s very important so you won’t burn your oil ✌🏼
Gil Torres "Flax seed oil is very good too"!
I have been doing IF for many years on a "high carb" meal plan.
I am vegan (no junk food & no animal-derived food), but the statement "within a few days" strikes me as an unnecessary exaggeration.
Yes I agree!!
It took me a month to see positive changes.
Pass. I’ll stick with my keto diet and avoid insulin resistance. 🙄
Dan Ciambor so people are increasing insulin sensitivity on plant based diet yet it increases insulin resistance? Seriously do about 30 seconds of research
uhm what? LOL
Hmmm... let's see, what builds insulin resistance? More glucose which prompts more insulin production. What helps with building insulin sensitivity? Keeping insulin levels low through low carbohydrate eating plans and intermittent fasting. Yeah, again, I'll stick with the ketogenic diet since it's been PROVEN to improve insulin sensitivity and not give it's followers sissy vegan girl arms. ;-)
www.pcrm.org/health/medNews/whole-grains-improve-insulin-sensitivity
Dan, you need to do just a bit of research to realize that a plant based way of living will fix your insulin resistances and be much healthier for you overall. I'm glad Keto is working for you but there's zero need to reduce carbs and ingest much higher levels of fats given there is a much more fun and healthier way of achieving your weight loss and overall health.
Oh, ok this is 4 years ago. No wonder everything she says is wrong, except to get all of the vegetable oils out. Everything else is completely wrong
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOYYYYYYUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Veganism got nothing to do with diets .
George Ale yeah, she seemed to try to say "plant based" but he kept saying vegan, so i think she just went with it.
George Ale she is from Barnard "team". They promote plant based, not vegan. It's vegan people who jump on the plant based diet wagon then make it theirs.
Lmao compared to the western diet, well DERR the western diet is full of shit processed food. A Balanced whole food diet works best!
What you're eating for Brexit haha those darn brexiters!
My sister always told me that I was lucky I had faster metabolism than her, but now I have proof that it's because of my diet! She uses her slow metabolism as an excuse, but all she has to do is change what she's eating.
