So many people make a big deal about a video being perfectly edited with no mistakes and the truth is I enjoyed your honest open genuine review way more then all that ' professional' stuff lol very helpful indeed! I am picking up a 256 13inch 8th gen 2020 mac but I'm wondering if I should pay extra for a m1 chip instead of the Intel chip. I do quite heavy editing so I think I may need this! Could I still do a decent bit of editing on the 8th gen mac?
Thank you so much for such a nice comment I’m trying to work my way through the comment section to answer Qs, if you heavy into editing and want to spend that additional then I recommend maybe going for the M1 I’m not too sure how much they are going for on the market but after I personally ran with the M1 via my iPad it’s the perfect chipset but at the same time the 8th gen Intel are not to bad at all since my 7th gen edited videos perfectly fine

Just got one for $230 after shipping. 100% functional as well, pretty happy with myself. It’s really not bad for the money on the used market.
It’s such a good laptop - this laptop sold on store pretty quickly, next videos coming up at MSI 14 Modern Review and possibly HP 14 Ryzen Laptop review
@@GeoPCsUK Ryzen chips in laptops are truly the future for relatively inexpensive quality devices, of course Apple silicon is great, but Ryzen continues to get better every year as well. A great time to be alive for a fan of tech.

Hey bud, yes definitely 100% especially for the prices they are going for now. Much more worth it, I still use this laptop as my daily driver as a business and not done me wrong at all
Does it have the touch bar? I heard the storage of the nontouchbar 2017 Mbp "13 are not soldered and so can be upgraded?
No Touch Bar one, but it does have upgradable storage 😊

I think it’s a great laptop overall especially for the price you can get it for nowadays.
I bought the MacBook Pro 2017 for GeoPCs for all my website design work etc for clients and it hasent let me down.
Just don’t be rough with the laptop lid, don’t shut it hard or do anything that can overall damage the cable.
If your local to my business in the UK let me know and I’ll swap any thermal paste and give it a internal clean to keep the temps down so it won’t affect the flex cable on the monitor

Overall, would you recommend this 2017 model? Looking to upgrade from my 2011 mbp (dinosaur aged lol) and am a student looking for a good budget MacBook
Overall 100% recommend. In fact I actually just got the 2017 MacBook Pro as a business again I bought a cheaper one off eBay for the reason of it was not in the best condition but managed to source parts and fix it. But it’s fantastic for todays standard

So many ppl have been so differing on this model but recently I just started seeing a lot more good things ab it including your video so I’m thinking this might be the move. Was thinking ab settling for the mba 2017 but the white bezels bug me and it doesn’t have os support anymore lol. Thanks again!
@@jzglazier8999 Your welcome buddy not a problem at all. I’m typing this reply on my MacBook now + the good thing with the Pros are they are still supported via OS so you should be good to go for a while. Possibly going to make another more detailed view into this MacBook at some point
@@GeoPCsUK Haha that’s awesome! Yea that’d be great to get a laptop with the current software despite the last one still being supported by Apple, just feels nice lol. And bet, I’d definitely love to see some more info in a new video if you decide on making it :)
@@jzglazier8999 Back in 2017 yeah fair enough it was a bad laptop for £1000+ but now you can get it for £200+ it’s a great laptop 💻

I use it as my company laptop on a daily basis and it does everything you said absolutely fine

Yes should be good for after affects especially since it still supports the new MacOS
