@@Enmoh i own the 2017 MacBook Pro with touchbar and yeah, I have problems with the keyboard. Sometimes the N, B And J doesn’t work. I would totally change it for a m1 MacBook.
I got that replaced under warranty when my keyboard starting doing that! This year. So it may be covered. Check with Apple!

I’m a student and i think its more than enough for me
I have a 2017 i5 with 16gb of ram. Haven’t had too much of an issue with performance but I also don’t edit video or livestream but I do run league of legends on it just fine lol
I haven’t played lol on it but good to know it works! I’ve just had some issues with it that I didn’t have with my 2012…which is weird to me🤷🏼♂️
Would you recommend it for developers. I developer react/react native apps. And a bit of android dev maybe. Will get the same model you have but just with 8gb. Thoughts? I just run vscode and few tabs on browser and maybe low specs android emulator.
Oooo man…that’s a tough one. It’ll handle it but I think you’d be better off spending a little more and picking up a base model MacBook Air. The new M1 chip is just unparalleled in every way! I’d rather have an 8gb M1 Air than a 2019 16” Intel Pro with 32gb. It’s THAT good.
But ultimately what you can afford at the time is most important! Get what you can get and make it work for you. :)

I got a 2017 13 but not the touch bar version. I like the feel of the keyboard I thought I would hate it, I like the screen and has good audio and its pretty quick still. I got the i5 version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB

Absolutely the M1! Honestly if you want the Pro, I would wait until next month (they should be announcing new ones). I would also consider the MacBook Air M1! My wife’s Air is MILES better than this one. They’re on sale right now too! amzn.to/2U5mIwJ
Hi, I watched your review because I’m currently looking to buy a MacBook Pro . I did find one used it’s a 2017 with Touch Bar 15inch with a screen shot of the battery only cycling at 3 . They said they’d sell it to me for 600$ I’m wondering if that’s a little to go to be true ? Or if that price rang is right being it is 2022 . I’d only be using it for admin work . Also they said it’s an i7 with 16gb .
What’s your budget?? With the right deal you could get the new MacBook Air for $800-900…also depends on what kind of admin work! The battery cycles could be misleading…get them to send you a screenshot of the system information. They also could’ve put a janky “new” battery in there so be sure to check!

Thanks man! And noooooo way😂 dude totally go for the MacBook Air for $25 more! The M1 is insane and puts this model to shame…SHAME! My wife has the M1 and it edits videos and photos like 800 times faster. And it’s an Air. With no fan. It is wild. Seriously the best computer ever made and the best value. I can’t stress it enough😂 I never recommend anything other than the M1 now. Do it!!

Man that is a tough one! Where do you live? I still personally think $875 is too much for this machine…are you able to utilize eBay? That would be my first suggestion! Because man that is a lot for this Mac.

I would really try to go for something with an M1 or M2 chip! Even the 2020 M1 Air will be better than the 2017 Pro. Can’t beat the new chips!

Which one should I buy the 2017 mbp 15 inch or a 2020 mba 13 inch. For video editing and normal browsing. I think the 13 inch is abit too small
100% the MacBook Air with the M1. There is literally no comparison. The M1 will ruin you for every other computer ever made. I wouldn’t pay even half the price for a 15” 2017. Go with the M1 and you will not be sorry!

Honestly not a bad deal! I would try to get them down to $700 but it’s solid. I’d also recommend spending $300 more on an M1 MacBook Air…it’s way better. Trust me!

Like a 1-for-1 trade? I think you have the better machine for sure. If you can get some cash or something else out of it, it might be a better deal. But as is I wouldn’t!

Absolutely! However you may be able to get a cheaper one if that’s all you’re going to use it for…maybe even a 2012 with Retina? Or 2015? Get those ports if you can!

That’s not a bad deal! What’s your budget though? And what’s the use for it? Because I would not necessarily spend that much on a 2017…I would buy maybe a 2012-2015 and save up for a new M1. Let me know what you’re going to use it for and I’ll give you some recommendations!

Easily! I used a 2012 for a lot of coding in college so you should have no problem unless you are doing some VERY intensive heavy work.

Depends on the work you’re doing…just basic web browsing and writing papers? Works great! But if you have the budget, M1 MacBook Air for sure🤙🏻
How long does the battery last?
It’s bad. It’s real bad. Apple replaced my keyboard and battery and it’s still only a couple hours. I honestly can’t trust it anywhere without my charger.
