Amazing content. a tip. If you made another ECU/coil drill battery holder in parallel you could put in a new battery and keep the engine running when charging the other one ! Like the comment so Brent and Goofy can see!
2 batteries is alot of weight, the setup he has cuts weight and pushes power. Just needs to be figured out to perform at it's best without having to recharge. If you had 2 batteries, your alternator technically has to recharge both. Double duty and more weight. They are the best tuners for Hondas I have ever seen. I'm sure they will figure it out with time. That is a good idea tho, I'm not sure it would work in this particular application.

Maybe I am wrong but this setup will not have constant voltage and wreak havoc with the dead time for the injector and ecu will not have a constant power as well not the best for a ecu
And these battery are 21 volt at full charge and could go as low as 12.5 volt if the cutoff is 2.5 volt or 15 volt if it's 3 volt
Better just use a 1 regular battery and be sure everything work correctly

I had no idea Shane was Brent’s son until a couple videos ago lol. I thought he just worked at PFI. I saw him with a GoPro, does he have his own UA-cam channel?

Your sons hands (Goofys) are beat to hell! Mad respect for having working hands like that. I was skeptical about his build but after seeing his hands and seeing the amount of scars, bruises, cuts, and open wounds I know it's legit. Scars tell a more honest story then any words can, I can't wait to watch him and the car on Sick Week!

Brent is one of the calmest people and the most encouraging the way his face was in the razzle dazzle and the look of calm and just loving it was awesome and shows his nutz of steel, there isn’t many like him and there should be more people like him. It would be a better world

it seems Goofy needs a 2nd charged M18 battery for the Dash, what happens when it Die's in the middle of driving? having to modify stuff is normal, all just part of working on Hot Rods.
im wondering why it doesnt run off the regular battery
It a weird choice for sure these battery are 21 volt fully charged and between 12.5 and 15 volt fully discharged depending on the cut off voltage Milwaukee use
and there a chance the logic board to cut the battery is in the tool not the battery so if used like this he could discharge it too much and damage the battery
That bolt on the exhaust for the CRX is very sketchy. It might not touch the tire now but you don’t want to knw that it could have prevented a problem that nobody will see coming. Flip it or twist it one 180 so the point of the bolt is facing the opposite way

Love the trailer. Have Shawn construct some aluminum or MDF molds and make some carbon /fiberglass ribbed panels for the enclosure or just use some 6061 or another grade of aluminum., etc, add some low rolling resistance tires, lightweight rims, and you are ready for drag week.
You can put one of those drill batteries in the trailer to power LED lights on the trailer so you can see at night inside the trailer

No worries with Jamie on the job. For mortals like the rest of us, you can often find those elusive sounds with a couple of feet of 10mm, or 3/8th, plastic hose - hold one end close to an ear and move the other around the suspect area - the plastic tubing helps channel the sound to the ear.
The tool battery is quite a neat idea, but I'd expect it to be really only useful for top end cars that don't run an alternator, use a mechanical fuel pump, and have an external starter, as it allows a very quick battery swap. As it is, the car already is fitted with a regular (air) battery and, now, an alternator* so it seems to just be adding complication and another potential failure point?
*you my be able to run a smaller alternator pulley - with a direct top it's effectively being driven at the speed that corresponds to what it would be in top gear. If you know what the maximum top gear rpm is going to be, and the maximum rpm the alt' is good for - usually around 15k - you can gear it for best output.
I hope my son and I have this kind of relationship.

Repacking the bearings is a fantastic idea but I'd highly recommend reinforcing the axle too. That trailer is handy as hell but running hundreds of road miles with 500+ lbs on it will make the channel bend. Been there...
This car is gonna be scary fo-sho. All that go with an itty bitty wheelbase with an awditty on top! Pop and son build, yeah man.
Shane that awd setup is sick! Nobody is breaking that driveshaft. I don't know why more people don't convert rear axles to tube type with 1350 u-joints. They don't move enough to suffer the loss of a CV style axle like front wheels. Pound for pound way lighter and stronger if you build with the space for 2.5 tubes vs heavy af stout solid axles.

Make sure you run a big fuse from that alternator wire to the battery, you don’t want to burn the car down if it dead shorts

Make sure repack the bearings and use good grease for the harbor freight trailer. I used the same one so far for 3 drag and drive events. See you guys at sick week.

You need to drill and Tap the EGR Port for a Plug and be done with that Leak! That will also Keep the heat from going into the Intake flange!

If that is the harbor freight one it is recommended that you repack the wheel bearings. The grease they come with is only ment for storage.
