You can Prevent or possibly even FIX the tearing problem with just a piece of duct tape placed inside long ways where the tear occurs. Carefully remove the insole and use a 2.5 - 3 inch piece of duct tape. And make sure the tape covers the UN- reinforced part all the way to the underplastic in the front of the shoes and behind the lace reinforcements. The thickness is important sometimes as it can greatly affect the responsiveness of the shoe(especially when thicker) but thinner seems to adhere better & mold better and also be more comfortable. I like to use a light medium thickness because thinner ones can tear themselves.
With the Curry 4 Flotro's utilizing the same outsoles of the 8's, i've noticed that both the 4's and 8's had better traction/grip than the 9's. Not sure what they did with the tooling on the 9's, but it wasn't it.
Hmm, just as far as step-in comfort goes though, the 4s feel softer in the heel than the 9s. I wear both on my 9 hour shifts (I work at UA) and I can't help but think that the 9s feel firmer. Am I crazy? These 4s feel immediately feel softer compared to the 9s every time I put them back on..
Well the foam itself is softer as mentioned before and if you just use them to walk around they will feel softer because you're striking with your heel
@@Chavanun555 as a die hard Warriors/Steph fan, I don't really play in Currys because they're lifestyle collectables to me. I have played in the Futr Xs purely outdoors and despite the Flow being bald at this point, the traction is still amazing outdoors. Unlike rubber outsoles that lose their grip because once it burns away, the traction is obsolete, Flow still maintains its traction because underneath Flow..... is more Flow!! Flow was originally made for outdoor running, so it'll always be grippy out there. And I feel like outdoor courts don't rely on the tread pattern as much the hardwood does.
@@mateosramirez2857 Under Armour could very easily use a softer Flow Foam compound on the 4s. Someone should email them about this. I would yet I have not heard back from them on another question.
I wish I waited a month to for the Flotro 4s to release instead of getting the curry 9s since I wear ankle braces on both feet. I still love the 9s though
Love your videos but I have a different perspective. I actually think overall curry 9s is the more supportive shoe, stronger upper, thicker and stiffer midsole but I do agree with there being too much foam on the ball of your feet but I think that forces your feet to go inward which would help prevent lateral sprains but increased the chances of medial sprains. The Flotro is more neutral with soft cushion and upper it feels super comfortable but the material isn’t strong enough hence why is rips and there are also pictures of instances Steph was about to roll his ankle. From what I know the reason Steph wore the Flotro was just to promote the new shoes, he had already worn all the colorways of the 9s and the next new UA shoe was the curry 4 Flotro and that’s UAs way to put out more curry shoes and since it was the finals it was the best way to promote the shoes and also pay nostalgia to the OG Currys 4s. Also another thing I’d like to mention is when I originally got the curry 9 I got It tts but since the footbed was so narrow I felt like I was gonna roll my ankle after I went up a size my foot fit a lot better in the shoe and no longer had that instability issue.
Question: *Why Steph Curry wears the Curry FloTro Purple in the NBA Finals?* Real Answer: *Superstition. A reporter told him he was 3-0 wearing the Curry FloTro Purple. Considering he just lost a game after wearing the Curry 9. So to his amazement that he didn't know that detail, he said: **_“I appreciate you. I don’t know if that messes with the juju on there if I’m aware of the record. I got a lot of different colors, so we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. God, you got me thinking now, too.”_*
The production lvl of the video and review detail is top notch! Appreciate u doc! I understand the total brown of each aspect. I see there is no perfect shoe, just what is best for you
Thanks for this Video! Are the Protros similar to the Flow 8s? I was very surprised with the performance of the Curry Flow 8s. Actually the first shoe where the wearing was on the sole of the shoe and not on my feet (blister etc). They just survived one season but the grip was fantastic and like I said my feet had no blisters at all.
Seems like it's just like the curry 8 which also had a softer foam and better traction. Curry 9s are way to hard cushion wise for my taste. On the other hand my Curry 8s just ripped apart at the midsole after 4 months of playing indoor only. Maybe also down to the softer foam because it happend to a lot of people
Hi I’m a point guard I want a shoe that has very good traction, is very shifty and supports me in crossovers, reverses, and other such movements. Which shoe do you suggest??
Good insights. I wish Ektio could have stayed in the market, their shoes were the best I had found for ankle support. heavy like my 80's converse weapons, but great support
So doc can you tell me what shoes i should buy? my ankles are so bad so i need to use an ankle brace , and i want a good shoe which ones do you recomend??since i had an injury i cant play for months so i wanna comeback strong

Zach, when you perform the Dremel durability test, you can measure ten seconds and use the same grit sandpaper, yet how do you keep the applied pressure consistent on each shoe ? It looks like you are free handing this test.
@@stevenroche9874 yeah, I think it'll give us some rough idea of what the material is like if you watch enough of his videos you'd easily be able to pick up differences between the material. flotro really is soldout everywhere. Look at Curry man so inspirational
A flat stable base is what I look for in a shoe. That said I tried the Kyrie 4's with the rounded base and they were great too.
4 flotro reused the bottom of curry 8, so 4 flotro technically is not an upgrade of curry 9 but curry 8
