"I've been kicked in the balls by a redhead, and that was more of a ginger kick than this." LMFAO
I think Dermot won this one... 😎
🤣🤣🤣🤣
"kicked in the balls by a redhead" is now a favorite phrase that will need the right moment to repeat.
Made much more sense than "beat you like a redheaded stepchild" ..which no one has ever been able to explain....
Great, you got me missing Lolsy again
For the Canadians commenting that they've never heard of this brand, Farm Boy is an Ottawa-based somewhat upscale grocery store chain. They're mostly found in eastern Ontario and they're all over the Ottawa metro area. These products are simply their house brand products and they would not be found in other Canadian chains.
Ah that explains it
Thanks for that. I'm in southwestern Ontario (close to windsor), so I'm sure soon enough we might get one around here.
Thank you, I was coming in with some West coast confusion.
@@Nikki7B they are definitely expanding across Ontario now, they e popped up in Toronto.
@@ashleys.949 awesome. Hopefully we get one or a few in our area. Would love to try it.
Yay! Dermot has returned to us! Happy Day!
Anyone else get the feeling that this is NOT the first time Dermot has said "eat my balls, farm boy.?"
Dermot was gone for a long time it seems. Glad he's back.
Dermot and Colin on the intro. That’s hilarious.
I was wondering what that was about, haha
They need that 1st ten seconds on a loop that was priceless
Love the funhaus reference
Got to admit, faux-reo was genius level. Good job Colin!
All hail the Faux-reo! 😇🙏🍪
Bull shit! Total bull shit Colin! We do in fact put maple syrup in everything! EVERYTHING!
It’s all we know man!, maple syrup and hockey!
🇨🇦🍁🏒🥅👍🏻
@@WLNS75 ahah, that's fair, William! I was trying to appease other comments from Canadians who say otherwise! 😂
@@ColinFilm haha! Can’t please em all eh?!
But yeah, no, we really do put it on everything! Who knows who those other crazies are who say otherwise…… heh heh
I’m sending you guys real maple syrup now!
Maybe they're born with syrup. Maybe it's maple leaves!
@@WLNS75maple hockey 😂 wtf is that
"I quite enjoyed nibbling on Farm Boy."
"Isn't there a better way to say that?"
"I enjoyed... gobbling a Farm Boy."
So, no then.
LMAO!
I enjoyed putting Farm Boys in my mouth and then swallowing!
As a Canadian I can confirm we put maple in a lot of stuff, also almost every brand of cookie has a maple leaf-shaped one.
I quite liked the all boy cookie review. But no milk? Sean, you're a monster. lol
You've been watching these videos for how long? And only now realizing Sean is a monster?
5:22 Well.... seeing as where I live in Canada right now, the sun rises at like 10 AM and sets at like 5 PM, yeah, we generally do eat cookies in the darker times of the day :P
5pm? Here in Maine it set at 4:18 today.
Martin is so darn entertaining. I could watch him read a book.
I would say the same thing about Jamie. I envision Martin with his own UA-cam channel slowly sipping or drinking alcohol in a big fancy chair.
I wonder if Martin has a single dad that I could watch read a book. I can’t watch Martin. I’m not a pervert.
ua-cam.com/users/AgroSquerrilsvideos almost what this channel does.
A maple leaf shaped maple flavored cookie." That's the most Canadian thing I've ever seen in me F-cking life"
Maybe served on a hockey puck would up the Canadian powerlevel?
With a Timmie's double-double on the side.
@@jamescarey6263 double double is the only rational substitute for milk with maple cookies, can confirm
Farmboy is a chain of grocery stores in Ontario. Ironically I just came back from shopping at one and have this wonderful new video to enjoy .
Have you guys ever had "Chicken in a Biskit" snack crackers? They're really the red-headed stepchild of the cracker world. Heavily flavored, but good.
Lol, I just quoted that expressoon above! 😅
I love those. They are so good! Vegans would have to avoid them though, because there is actual powdered chicken in them.
If you're gonna feed them cookies or Oreos, AT LEAST offer some milk!
agreed.
Oreos are cookies, lol.
It's not a Canadian cookies and Irish milk day. They're trying Canadian cookies. No doubt they have water available to them and what's what you use when tasting anything else. Very surprised to see no pseudo-jokes about anything being too sweet or needing to see a dentist.
Tea; that cheese cookie would be redundant with milk.
I feel we need an “After Hours” video featuring Dermot and the Redhead story!
I'd love an "after hours" video of Dermot, Martin, and a couple other boys sitting around with a highball and a cigar, just telling tales of their life experiences. That would be so entertaining.
@@darlenelipuma7769 add justine stafford in the mix, and you have their podcast, called The Substantial Meal.
Great video idea!
Mr. Dermot shyly asking for a glass of milk 🥛 was adorable.
"I'm sorry, but if we had a shamrock fuckin' biscuit, I'd slap me ma in the head with it." Best line EVAR!!! Jamie, you won the video.
Uhhh Grace’s Oatmeal Biscuits and Shortbread (in the shape of a shamrocks) 🤷♂️
Hand picked means higher quality: Workers examine the finished cookies just before packeging and remove all the bad ones like this one doesnt have enough chocolate, that one is too small, this one broke, these ones were made with rotten flour. They remove all the bad ones by hand. Picked is Canadian slang for chosen.
"They're like the little brooches from Lord Of The Rings." Well-played.
Only the lads were available this go round, eh? So much menergy!
made me happy 😁
Someone needs to send them the full line of President's Choice "the decadent' cookies. Galen Weston might be a union busting cuss, but he can make a hell of a cookie.
"To be kicked in the b*lls by a Redhead has more of a ginger kick..." OMG!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I bet Dermot is pissed there were no peanut butter cookies.
More like relieved!
Get them Christie's Pirate Cookies!!!
We need more Dermot. He’s a national treasure.
International Treasure, IMHO.
If it *was* hand-picked, that suggests that cookie trees exist, and whoever had developed those would be absurdly wealthy.
Or that they bake a bazillion cookies at once then pick only the best of the batches they bake and package them. What they do with all the rejects I don’t know. But that cookie tree idea sounds better.
Farm Boy is a relatively new grocery store chain. I don't know how far they've spread their stores around (we have 2 or 3 here in London, Ontario). One of their selling points is they try to stock their shelves with local products as much as possible. I don't shop there, so never tried their cookies.
They're based out of Ottawa and have been the main upscale grocery chain in the Ottawa metro region (and eastern Ontario) for several decades. They might have recently expanded into southern Ontario though.
Well the original owners sold iirc so I'm not surprised of they expand. Eg you see them having way more store brand products
I'm two hours from London, and I havnt yet heard of this chain yet. Im sure soon it will be in this area though
Ah, you've got to check it out, the lemon garlic salad dressing is amazing.
@@fenxis Sobey’s bought them but they were expanding before the purchase. The purchase accelerated their expansion across Ontario with a lot of the new stores being former Sobey’s. The nearest me is an old Sobey’s and it’s massive and has great selection. And the service is always top notch. I wouldn’t be surprised if the goal is to replace all Sobey’s nationwide with Farm Boys.
And they’ve been around at least 40 years.
Yay! More Canadian stuff that is only from one tiny part of Canada and is completely unknown elsewhere. :p
Never seen one of those and I live in Canada
Send them your Canadian stuff then...
Hint : Alcohol 😎🇮🇪
@@RealMaxoou262 its from Ottawa, Ontario.
@@phil2430 dont have them in Quebec
@@RealMaxoou262
You don't need them .You can enjoy DELICIOUS ,Vachon goodness.👍
Um, those cream stuffed sandwich cookies are actually a rip-off of a rip-off (Oreos) as the first such sandwich cookie was invented by the Sunshine biscuit company and was known as Hydrox. Oreo stole the concept from them and manage to make it more popular to the point that many people failed to realize that Hydrox came first. Eventually the brands most recent owners Kellogg Company decide to discontinue the brand in 2014. Then another unrelated company, Leaf Brands decide to revive the cookie name in 2014 as Kellog’s had abandoned the trademark. Their version of the Hydrox Sandwich cookie differs from the old Hydrox in that it contains no artificial flavors and is Non-GMO certified.
Interesting 🤓
Not cookies related, but the same thing happened with Transformers. It was the copycat that overtook the original.
I love you guys! Thanks for doing this, it keeps me sane!
The belly laughs at 1:53 so wholesome!
Dermot in a shoot and no peanut butter cookie?!
I'm Canadian, and I've never had this brand before, I'll have to look into giving it a go!
Maple creme cookies in that shape are a staple here though, most brands have a version. I'm inclined to say we do, in fact, put maple in just about everything, lol.
It's only in southern Ontario! It's from Ottawa!
@@HausOfAus This is great news, I'm in Northern Ontario, I smell a roadtrip! Haha!
@@sarahp9086 excited for you!! It's a great grocery store! Bring coolers!!!
Def an Ottawa thing. It was my first real job as a teenager, back 15+ years ago. The food, both fresh and prepared is generally higher quality than Walmart and loblaws, but of course the price reflects that. It’s kind of like a whole foods, since they also have prepared hot lunches as well, but more Canadian Mom than California Mom feel. They also have an animatronic farm boy in most stores that play every 20 minutes… those songs got drilled into my memory while working….
@@HausOfAus Ottawa isn't Southern Ontario
"If we had a shamrock, fuckin', biscut... I'd slap me ma in the head with it" is a hilarious reaction to the idea of maple cookie, haha!
Just a couple of lads...high as hell...talking about snacks.
Martin is so epic that I can't even fault him for saying that the maple leaf isn't a good shape for a cookie. And I'm Canadian. I *should* be taking offense. But, like, Martin.
(For real though, I quite enjoyed this episode. Thanks all!)
Great video as always guys!!!
Loved that Dermot enjoyed the Farm Boy in his mouth that much!
Never heard of these before! And now my hunt begins anew.
Love when Dermot and Colin are trying together. So funny!
Is Damon the love child of Willy Geist and Paul Simon?
So glad to Sean again. I love him!
I'm Canadian and I've never seen any of these except for the Maple Cookies.......lol
Yeah Farmboy is mostly in Eastern Ontario and Quebec.. I have a Farmboy in my city they have some amazing foods..
We have Farm Boy in SW Ontario too…it’s a great store.
Jamie's laugh could bring joy to a Sarah McLachlan commercial.
Maple Leaf cookies ARE a thing here, but we usually get Dare brand.
I love Dare brand maple cookies. They are so delicious!
Maple cream cookies are a North American thing not just a Canadian thing. I am in Michigan and we have them here and they are super yummy.
Yes, but Michigan is Canada-adjacent! 😉
...and the part of Dermot Ward is played by actor, John Cleese...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙂
We got a Farm Boy store in Guelph last spring. Previous to that my wife and I would go over to Cambridge to get four things. Their bacon, their ham, the Maple creme cookies and the pizza sauce. We also now buy our veggies there because the stuff is so fresh, our refrigerator is no longer the place where vegatables go to die.
The maple leaf represents the tree that the sap was taken from in order to make the maple syrup. Yes, the maple leaf is a symbol of Canada, but the cookies rep themselves, eh?
You guys are talking like Oreos aren't a rip off of another cookie, Hydrox.
For anyone not in the know, Sunshine Biscuit Company’s Hydrox was a cream stuffed sandwich cookie like Nabisco’s Oreos that actually came first but later was commonly mistaken as ripoff of Oreo due to Oreos greater popularit when it was the other way around.
@@Charlesb88 I believe Oreos were a deliberate ripoff of Hydrox, although my recollection is that Hydrox tasted better. I believe that perhaps their odd name was their downfall. I've never really liked Oreos.
@@maeverobertson1108 Yep, that was my understanding too. I suspect that better marketing played a key role in Oreo winning out I eat Hydrox as a kid along with Oreos and never thought the name was especially odd, though was fooled into thinking they were a Oreos knockoff at the time. The had a sweeter crème filling and crunchier cookie shell vs Oreos. Apparently Leaf Brands has revived the Brand after its abandonment by Kellog’s (who acquired it from Keebler who acquired it from Sunshine). They have released their version of the Hydrox cookie starting in 2015 and in 2017 the reformulated it so it now has no artificial flavors unlike the old Hydrox brand. I haven’t seen it in the shelves where I am but haven’t really looked either but it for sale at least in Parts of the U.S. and maybe Canada(?).
@@maeverobertson1108 - Amen!!! I thought I was the only one who preferred Hydrox to Oreo.
@@kathleen109 Oreos kind of upset my stomach for some reason. At any rate, I'm a really good Baker, so I rarely eat any store-bought cookies.
Yes Seán, garlic is my favorite thing in the world. My favorite indulgence is roasting a full bulb & then spreading it on crackers.
Now I want to try these, haven't seen them anywhere local yet. Buy oh, memories of the maple leaf shaped Dare cookies!
Glad all the Guys enjoyed the Farm 🚜 Boy lol 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 🇮🇪 🌈
Fun fact, Oreos are the copycat, Hydrox was the OG sandwich cookie, tho they're an aquired taste.
Yeah! Dermot's Back! Colin, Martin Jamie as well, always a pleasure to be entertained by you Gents.
Not idly do the leaves of Foreo-n fall....I'm not even remotely sorry
“Canadian but never seen these!” Well, true. In fairness, that could be said about most things in Canada, unless it’s a franchise. Each province is more like its own separate country, united solely by our annoyance with Ontario. 😆
Ontario has them! Farm boy has lots of great products. And, to be fair, Ontario is annoyed with the rest of Canada. Had to be said. lol
As one who is stuck in Ontario, cannot disagree. There has to be a better province out there...
@@cathyloureiro4085 i think the country can unite in its annoyance with toronto and a lesser extent ottawa
@@cathyloureiro4085 Agree, don't like it, move to Moose Jaw, or Pinkie or Biggar. They're just wunderful places, especially in January and February.
@@donaldcake1 Well, with Ottawa, you kind of need to distinguish between Ottawa as the political capital and Ottawa as the urban centre. When people think of the former, they're thinking of the politicians (95% of which are from elsewhere in Canada) and the apparatus of government. The Ottawa-Gatineau metro area and its residents, while many do work in the civil service, are really quite a different animal from the political entity. Hell, most Ottawan hate "Ottawa" in its political sense, just like other Canadians.
The metro area and population are the focal point of eastern Ontario (with Kingston as its smaller antipode) and the Outaouais (the Quebec side of the Ottawa river valley) and actually have more common ground with Montrealers than Torontonians in a lot of ways (both metro areas are bilingual, they're pretty close to one another, the regional accents aren't drastically different, etc.). Southern and eastern Ontario are kind of their own things in a lot of ways (as is northern Ontario).
As a Canadian, I have to say nothing compares to Fudgee-O's IMO. That's the perfect cookie and I have eaten literally a tonne in my time 😂
Oreo's were mentioned. The Oreo sandwich cookie are the rip off of the Hydrox cookie that came before it. Oreo's just happen to become more popular
The name didn't help, either. But we can still buy them, they're naturally a bit obscure to find.
@@Blondie42 I agree. The Hydrox can be difficult to find. Still as enjoyable as the Oreo.
Two notes for Dermot:
1) Was the kick from the redhead for salacious reasons or just a normal brawl?
2) It’s trademark, not copyright!
Hahaha, your mind imnediately went to Dermott saying "I deserved that" 😆
haven't had the farmboy maple creme cookies but maple creme cookies in general are some of my favourite store bought cookies and one of the only ways i actually like maple syrup
The herb and garlic pita chips are amazing with spinach dip and a pint
Interestingly, the Oreo is actually a rip off of the Hydrox cookie.
Hydrox, yum
Do they even exist anymore? We always seemed to have those growing up and not Oreos bc they were also more expensive.
@@kthearcher3357 They exist again, apparently. I don't remember ever having had one, and the name may be part of that. I mean, a cookie that sounds like it might be better suited as a name for a drain cleaner?
@@jonc4403 IKR?? I was always so confused why we got those when Oreos tasted no different, obviously price for us, but being a kid higher priced item is better I guess lol It really was a terrible name.
Dermot has always been one of my favorites
Love the channel. Now that the boys have had a go, let’s get the ladies in to see what they say.
don't know the brand but maple cookies are all like that shape and have various levels of sweetness vs crumbliness, smooth or more harsh cream middle. You'd seem then in fancier kiosks on the way home from work, back in the before times. Not generally known for their heavy maple flavour but some can be

And it doesn't have the "oreo" in the name. Might be able to get away with that.
It's been said that in parts of Canada that stinky cheese is said to smell like "Gods feet ".So as not to piss off France ,parts of it smell like Gods feet too.
When I was living in Ottawa these were around I liked the ginger chips dunked in coffee
Ive lived in Canada my entire life, 35 years! I have never seen any of those cookies or even heard of farm boy cookies…
I've heard Farm Boy described as "The Canadian Whole Foods". Slightly upscale grocery, maybe only in Ontario (?). Used to work there one summer.
Dermot at the end obviously meant to say "I like having Farmboys in my mouth."

Farm Boy is my favourite grocery store. They focus mainly on produce and homemade foods, and their Farm Boy brand foods are delicious! I love their dips (their guacamole and their tzatziki are the best). The stores are not really that big, but they have very good quality produce, fish, and meat.
The variety of Colin's Funhaus shirts is astounding.
I didn't know Martin was a comedian! I saw him the other day on a show and he was hilarious! Good work Martin!!!
They used to sell those maple cookies in the dollar stores here in the USA. I got addicted to them for a while, I thought they were very good.
The Farmboy Maple cookies are the bomb.
A cookie in French is called a biscuit (biss-küee). "Bis" is latin for "Twice" and "Cuit" means "Baked". So a cookie litterally translates to Baked Twice in French. Since the pita "crackers" were baked twice, they technically qualify as biscuits and, by extension, as cookies! :p
Faux-reo?? Great! And Dermot's comments are epic. That's why these two sit together.
Yay! Home town Farm Boy!
When ever Colin does that voice i swear he is the voice of Hank Hill
