TRY is your new home on UA-cam. A place where people try things for the first time. Similar to popular UA-cam channels such as BuzzFeed, WatchCut, GMM & TheFineBros' React, our goal is to create content to entertain you and to bring a positive light to the start or end of your day.
Happy TRYers are the best TRYers! All of you try so many things that are weird or disgusting, just to entertain us, so I'm happy I could send you something you like! I'm very happy you're in the video Clisare, I would have been sad as well if it didn't work out. Dermot, thank you for the kind words, I totally adore you! I didn't expect everyone to like every flavour, but I'm glad you liked most of them. You're all class! Much love to all!
Legend
Thanks for sending them something that made them so happy! I like the happy videos!
Thank you so much! It was such a lovely shoot 😋🤤🥰
@@Clisare You are so welcome! ❤
It was really cool to watch them all enjoy everything they tried !! Way to go Stace!!! 🎉 👏
One more reason to have a TRY CANADA ADVENTURE!
I say they go in January! Clare should stay home then.
Nfld-cod, NS - donair, Pei - lobster, NB potatoes, Quebec - poutine, alberta - prairie oysters, etc.
OH Canada !🇨🇦💋💋
@ronhatfield4435 wait what 👀👀??
Get screeched in, in newfoundland and have a sour toe cocktail in the Yukon lol
the seasonings have a problem sticking to the popcorn; best to put melted butter on the popcorn first
I agree 👍
Also, similar to seasoning french fries, it is best to season them while they are still giving off a little steam from cooking. Seasoning anything after it has cooled down requires the surface to have a little bit of moisture or it just falls off.
I think the gourmet popcorn stores actually tumble the popcorn with the powder in drums to distribute it evenly. And likely they mist with oil or butter to make it stick.
It sticks better if the popcorn is still hot. We have a similar item in the US including some sweet ones
Pretty sure they have no idea what melted butter is.
Saifa's "are you you hearing this" was the best. ☠️☠️😆😆😆
I've never seen Dermot look as happy as he did while eating the last one - we must be overdue a peanut video with him in it? 😁
I’ve never seen everyone so happy eating something on the channel. It was a treat watching it.
Oh my...wiping tears of laughter from my eyes. Dermot: *evil, naughty laugh* "Yeah". Me: 😮😂 I just loved it. More, please.
BTW, we DO have that at the cinema ! You can buy little packets of powder to add to your bag of popcorn, but we do it after having put some melted butter on the popcorn so the powder sticks to it 🙂 I'm Canadian if anyone was wondering lol !
America too, with cheddar, kettle corn and other flavors
Was looking for thud comment 🇨🇦
That started as a free option, for about 5 yrs then they started charging for it
As a Canadian and someone who loves popcorn, this was amazing. I honestly have a shelf of Kernels shakers in my house at all times. And even better, when you go to the mall, they have Kernels kiosks with like 12-15 flavours you can buy that are all perfectly coated with seasoning. Clearly TRY needs to come to Canada and overload on Kernels.
We used to have something similar and the taco and barbecue seasoning was the bomb!
If I have popcorn in the house then I always have at least two shakers of the stuff with it.
If you really want to kick it up a notch, this stuff is half salt so you can use it in place of salt in some baking if you're careful. I'll buy the bulk butter-flavoured seasoning and use it in cornbread to get more buttery flavour. Add some cayenne as well and it's even better.
Clisare WAY more into popcorn than I realized. When you invent different ways to eat something you are on another level.
As a Canadian I am tickled pink that the flavours were enjoyed. Some truly only in Canada flavours there. Cheers...
My little Canadian heart is swelling with joy
Irish People Try Sun Chips?!?! There are some cool new flavors, would be a nice video!
Sounds like it’s time for the TRY team to come to Canada! We Canucks would love to see ya.
I am so glad that I'm not the only one that eats the edges off my popcorn and has a second bowl for the middles so I can eat them after! I feel so weird doing it, but the middles are the best part and I want to savor them.
I was wondering how they'd pull this off. See Kernels is a kiosk in most malls. You can smell the popcorn throughout the mall and you CRAVE it. Didn't even realize they had flavour shakers for sale. Most of these are indicative of our chip/crisp flavours, whereas I more associate other flavours with Kernels. Especially as they're well known for their coated versions. Personally Chicago style is my go-to (1/2 cheese, 1/2 caramel coated).
Glad you all enjoyed a taste of Canada, but TRY is far overdue for a fieldtrip to the Great White North. Perhaps even getting the chance to try the real-deal Kernels!
My local cineplex have these on the napkin counter. I live for the cheddar
Call me a boring traditionalist. But my only flavour of Kernels is double butter caramel.
I hope the journey to the Great White North includes Vancouver, Canada as things seem to skip us then maybe come around later.
Mine was double butter (caramel type) 🤤
I know here on the east coast you can buy them at superstore and Sobeys
I'm so glad Saifa is back in the videos!
Works great on French fries as well
No kidding? Never thought of that. Thanks!!!!
@@Biggels36 oh ya it's amazing
Thinking the all dressed or jalapeño jack would be good on onion rings.
I'm a Canadian and I didn't know that we had THAT many different flavours. My favorite is Salt & Vinegar. Sprinkle some on hot microwave popcorn, shake to mix and your family movie night at home just got better. Love these popcorn seasonings! Glad that all of you have gotten to enjoy another slice of Canada.
Grocery stores don’t have all the flavours but if you go to a Kernals they have more flavours.
I’d like to believe that it was me sending you those Vachon cakes that really started off Try Channel’s influx of Canadian stuff!
I might be wrong, but I don’t want to know if am.
Nicely done Stacey! Finding Canadian stuff to send over can be challenging.
Thanks eh!!
It's thanks to you I found the TRY Channel, the Vachon video came up in my suggested videos, and after that, I was hooked! It's still my favourite video, well, maybe the second after today ;)
Fellow Canadian long time viewer. Finding stuff that is uniquely Canadian AND can travel by post to Ireland is tough. I doubt they'll be getting seal or moose meat anytime soon!!!
@@tiacho2893 yeah I hear that! Although it would be cool getting some moose meat over to the Try channel, we can only hope that someday we start making moose meat jerky!
*moose meat is bloody awful! And all my relatives are from NFLD!, I still hate it!….
William, kudos for the Vachon cakes package; I kinda (proudly) freaked out when the Vachon clip came out- I’m addicted to the vanilla half-moon
and the flakies (3 fruits, apple-raspberry, and caramel versions).
Regards from the Montréal burbs.
@@WLNS75 I was down East and tried seal flipper pie because I like trying new things and would never get the chance again (once was enough). Tried moose once and also bear - told that bear tastes like what it ate and it's not for me. I can say that if you like beef, bison is delicious and definitely worth a try.
But yeah, all the broadly Canadian stuff's been covered. So only the hyper regional stuff is left. Kernels is in almost every mall around me. But I never thought of it as "Canadian" and worth the effort to send in.
I’m so happy Clisare was in this video since she loves popcorn 🍿 so much. 😊❤ Love The Try Channel!!
Also, love the way Saifa looks at Clisare when she’s talking about how she’s eaten popcorn. 🤣🫶
I am soo happy you guys had the opportunity to TRY these flavours! My favourite is sour cream and onion or ranch. My kids love the white cheddar one. Cheers from Canada!!!
That Vachon video is "class",I can't count the amount of times I've seen that.
Way to go, Stace! I’d call that a Canadian snack win!
We do have these flavour toppings at our theatres in Canada.
sean is making literally FERAL NOISES while eating the popcorn. evident he is loving it!
Our cinemas here in Victoria BC Canada 🇨🇦 has a condiment counter that has seasoning for your popcorn 🍿
Traveled to Victoria a few times from Kingston, Ontario when I served in the military back in early 2000s. We did some jobs at the navy base in Esquimalt and stayed in a wonderful Hotel near the parliament bldg. Beautiful area.
@@yanewfieYes Victoria is beautiful 😍 I came from Bonavista Newfoundland in the 80s as a young girl.
@newfee1967 I'm a newfie myself. Grew up on the southwest coast. Little town of Burnt Islands. Around 30km from Port Aux Basques. Small world lol
The newer movie theaters in the US have flavored seasoning for popcorn.
@@yanewfie Do you miss home? I know I sure do.🥺
I loved the fact that they all were wiping up the flavoring from the bottom of the bowls and licking it off their fingers.
Here in the U.S. it's called Mr. Kernels. I use the garlic parmesean most.
Thank you for making me smile, laugh, and maybe blush a little ( my daughter teasing me about my crush on Mr. Ward)! I needed a happy surprise. Also, every time your videos are amazing and I genuinely love all of you. You all seem to be so comfortable with each other. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy when I watch. Thank you 💖
Like, some Seasonings Greetings from the Great White North eh? Beauty.
It's great to hear a viewer's note - it adds a friendly touch and I hope we get a bit more of it now and again. Glad you enjoyed, everyone, and thanks for the laughs and smiles as always!
Actually, Kernels does have a holiday one for Xmas called seasoning greetings, it’s caramel and raspberry flavour, and it’s actually pretty darn good.
In Canada we know how to spice things up!!! You guys should come by and visit !! Love you guys and keep up the good work!!! 😍
Mixing the cheddar and dill pickle is really good!
Saifa’s look of confusion when Clare was describing the way she eats popcorn. 😂
Did anyone mix the pickle, catsup, and jalapeno jack to see if it tastes like cheese burger toppings
Dude! Shut up and patent that idea before someone beats you to it! lol
Big Brain!
that's my exact thought 👍
You're not Canadian if you say catsup.
@@TheMrCC21 makes sence since I'm from Texas
I love how pumped Clisare is for popcorn - the stars truly did align 😁
The first three seasonings, ALL TOGETHER! Out of this world!!!
1:21 Claire's way of eating popcorn sounds revolutionary.
I used to do that as a kid.
Lol! I do that sort of with crunchie bars! I eat the chocolate off the sides first. Lol.
Omg NO! too much work
@@Canadian_Girl27 SAME!
Thanks Stacy for doing us right! 🥰🍁
Another one where the Tryers are enjoying what they're trying! Those are my favourites. Also, great to see Clisare again.
I'm glad that Clare got to have a popcorn video at last, and she was glammin' like a rock star in this one! Love popcorn, and I'd love to try some of those flavors! Nice one, Try Channel!
Popcorn and Old Bay crab spice. Yeah, I'm from Baltimore.
I absolutely love the dill pickle seasoning. I like to dump it in my hand and eat it without popcorn.
love dermont comedy
Been missing that Clisare energy!!!
Yes!!! Clisare, I'm so happy for you
We do have flavoured powder at the cinema! I don't think it's the same company. But there is usually sale and vinegar, cheddar, dill pickle... And maybe another 1 or 2.
I'm on the East Coast of the US now and I have seen that popping up lately. I have not looked at them to see what flavors there are.
Mine definitely has this brand at the theater!
Thanks Stacey for representing we Canucks 🇨🇦
Ever since a friend introduced it to me in high school when we walked to his house for lunch since his house was in a neighborhood right behind the school's football field, I've always loved putting the cheap grated parmesan from the green can/jar on popcorn. It's so good.
Garlic powder or garlic salt also works on popcorn, including in addition to parmesan. They used to have microwave sour cream and onion popcorn and it doesn't sound good on paper but was wildly delicious and addictive like the potato chips. (Much better than just adding dry sour cream and onion powder; I'm assuming it was flavored oil in the early types of microwave popcorn bags which required refrigeration.)
The honesty is refreshing. Take good care and keep your fingers crossed for your sane US fans.
A second bowl for the middle! That's why I love Clisare. Right there.
love that they kept the intro of sean catch of wiff of his body ordor
When my friends and I go to the movies we take our favorite popcorn spice and add to the our popcorn because they put butter on it the spice holds really well yummmmmmy 🇨🇦
The US is starting to offer a variety of shaker flavors in theaters now. I have not looked to see which ones are available.
Always great when Saifa stops by. ❤
Dill pickle and ketchup flavorings in Canada is such a Canadian thing!
You need to add it to hot buttered popcorn for the seasonings to stick to the popcorn correctly. At restaurants here, we make Dill Pickle chicken wings...we just toss them with Kernels powder on them hot out the fryer. Fkng delish. A lot of cinemas here also keep these out for people to use on their popcorn. I always use the ketchup or dill pickle, no one complains lol
I work at a cinema where we offer a selection of seasonings to add to the popcorn. My two favorites are curry and za'atar. Maybe you could do another video featuring seasonings that you select to try on popcorn.
Clisare, I love that idea!!! I eat mine individually and nibble off the edges first, wait, and finish with the middle puffy bit!
As a Canadian that LOVES Jalapeño Jack. When you get the popcorn from Kernals it’s solid orange from the seasoning. So much better than just the light douse you had.
I immediately decided to make popcorn with my salt and vinegar seasoning to enjoy as I watched. 🇨🇦
I love to dip popcorn into pickle juice haha! I need this powder!
Also good on baked potatoes and steamed vegetables. Especially considering most of Kernel's seasonings are around 10 calories. Healthy and delicious.
my favourite popcorn dust flavour is white cheddar
Where I am in Canada when you go to the movie theatre you used to get a packet of your choice with your 10$ popcorn. Now its an extra $1 but yes the whole theatre smells like various tasty popcorn flavours. All dressed is actually the leftover seasonings.
These are all awesome flavors...and guess what Clisare?....we CAN get them in the theaters here in Canada...you buy your popcorn, and then you go to the dispensor and put whatever flavour you want on, or even MIX them...lol...my favorite is Bacon ( yes, Dermot, there IS bacon flavor.), White cheddar, and Salt and Vinegar mixed together.
Love the Christmas Kernels bucket of [3 types of] popcorn with their seasonal designs. Always a good treat and a good storage bin after you're done!
Needed more Dermot
At the Kernels store one of the flavors they regularly offer is "Cheesy Dill" which is where they put both white cheddar and the dill seasoning on.
They mentioned the idea of putting it on popcorn at the movie theatre... out here (Vancouver area) they've had popcorn seasoning shakers at the movie theatres for about 25-30 years now.
I didn't realize these powders were a canadian thing. The world should have these!
Shout out of appreciation for Clisare's Friends reference! 😂
I eat the edges off my popcorn and then the middles if I am at home...not because it makes it last longer but because the taste and especially the texture is different so it is like two different popcorn eating experiences. I am from Canada and I did not know Kernels did a Thai Sweet Chili popcorn seasoning.....I may have to go shopping tomorrow and find some!
I use the dill pickle mixed with breadcrumbs for fish coating . Delish !!
Just to blow their mind...in case someone hasn't already said so, our big theatres (megaplexes) do have little machines that you out your bag of popcorn into and hit the buttons to spray these exact products onto it! There's usually 3-4 flavors you can choose from at these machines. They're right up by the concession stand so you get your buttered popcorn and then add the seasonjngs while it's still nice and warm so it sticks to the kernals well.
I'm a Canadian that buys huge bags of plain chips (crisps) and rebags them in serving sizes, then pour in some of those very same popcorn seasonings and shake the storage bags for even coating. Also, on fried potatoes. Those Kernels seasoning powders are handy for any potato product - better than on popcorn.
A bunch of the cinemas here in Canada (at least Alberta,) actually have a few popcorn seasoning stations set up within them, at least one by concession, and then in larger theatres, maybe one partway down each hallway with multiple theatres in a row, often right next to drink machines.
There are more Kernels flavours. For sure there has to be a part deux in the future. :)
Melt a bit of butter over the popcorn then you MUST mix dill pickle seasoning and white cheddar seasoning.
At our wedding we had baskets of popcorn and tons of popcorn seasonings.
Glad all of you have liked another Canadian item. (It's making me want to go have some popcorn myself right now.)
Seamus looking good in the purple and teal plaid shirt!
Good to see the bassist for Idles, Adam Devonshire part of the Try Team
I'm in Canada - our movie theatre had these for your popcorn. I loved the Salt and Vinegar one
There was a movie theater near me growing up that had the powders to put on whatever flavor you wanted. It was great
In America, some of the really class theaters, sell little shakers of the American version of kernels. My favorite is getting my popcorn well coated with butter and then hitting it with salted carmel kettle corn seasoning. It's amazing!
I grew up in Canada and the movies theatres did have a station with big shakers where you could add some of these seasonings to your popcorn. It was a dream. I don’t think it’s common anymore sadly.
Yes! I loved those! Sadly, they're gone now :(
It's a new thing here on the East Coast of the United States.
Definitely have to come to Canada! Lol! Years ago at the Canadian movie theatre they used to have these for your popcorn… Oh the good ol’ days!
Sending love from Canada!
Canadian here, and I can say that I use the dill pickle seasoning in sour cream or mayonnaise(sometimes both at the same time) and turn it into a dip for potato chips. It is absolutely amazing.
Not only Canadian but American as well. Thier shakers are in all the grocery stores.
The butter flavor just tastes like salt though. Not buttery at all.
I wish they had Caramel. I'd buy a case of that stuff.
Dill pickle is my favourite 😊I have it in my kitchen and might go get some now lol. And they do have it in packets to buy at theatres here along with other flavours.
Kernels seasonings are great for other foods as well. A little dill pickle seasonings with venella ice cream
There's an American brand I like called Kernal Seasons. I get the white cheddar flavor.
I do the same thing Clisare. I love your hell yeah! Beautiful voice.
Seamus, I love your shirt! Purple is my favorite color and I love the purple and green combo.
Canadian here......
We have food trucks putting the dill pickle seasoning on wings and on fries!! Soooooo good!!
The powder sticks much better over buttered popcorn. Also as far as having these in the movie theatres... we often do!
Clisare talking about nibbling off the kernel edges and saving the "bulb" of the middle for later? Brought back memories. Did anyone else make little peanut butter balls covered with popcorn?
Dill pickle is the best add a little cheddar to it brilliant! I loved watching how happy everyone was. As a Canadian I love when we can blow people's minds with our flavours and foods. Even Dermott was in a jolly mood!
Years ago in movie theaters you could put those powders on your popcorn, at Cineplex Odeon.. they called them "Shakers ". They had them on the kiosks where you got napkins and straws, in parmesan cheese type containers. They had to chain them to the kiosk so that they didn't get stolen! Salt and vinegar, BBQ, sour cream and onion, white cheddar were the flavours.
As a Canadian..I want to thank you guys for the enjoyment!1 Dont forget to try dill pickle and cheddar!!! That mix is the best ever!!!
I'm Canadian and haven't seen this product. I'm more a popcorn "purist", butter and salt. I loved Clisare's "how to separate bits of popcorn" segment. And we learned something more about Dermot that was maybe tmi
