The 50mm came as the kit lens to my Canon camera back in the day. I did a lot of studio work with that ONE lens for nearly a decade. Even before then it was standard on the film cameras. I keep it steady on my M50 C-camera these days and it's awesome.

Got the S5II with the 50mm f1.8 and i think its a great lens. All the prime lenses from lumix are great to have. I have one question: how does the autofocus perform on the S5II with the EF glass?

Thanks! I recently got the Lumix 18mm f1.8 and when comparing the AF to my Tamron 15-30 f2.8 EF lens the AF works exactly the same so far. I have also extensively used the sigma 18-35 EF and the AF is also just as good.

I just paid $250 for it on ebay a few days ago and then found out that if you buy it with the S5ii you can get it for $50! I don't think they were offering that when the camera first came out because if they were I don't know how I missed it.
That’s really odd. In the UK we had a bundle both for the s5ii and s5 IIx some bundles. I thought it was universal. Nevertheless that’s still a steal of a price. I think you’ll really like it!

Hey Fulaan I just got an R50. I want to get into more landscape and Portrait photography. What are your best recommendations for lenses that won’t break the bank. I ordered the EF-S converter mount as well.
The Sigma 18-35 would give you an equivalent field of view of a 50-80mm which would be good for landscapes and portraits. Not super wide but can still do decent landscapes. It's a bit pricey though at about $700. The 10-18 EF-S is super wide and would be great for wide landscapes but no the best for portraits. It's cheap though at about $300. Come to think of it the new 16mm RF is also a good choice as it's cheap and it will give you a 24mm focal length which again isn't the best for portraits but great for landscapes. Decisions, decisions.

I've been using the Canon Nifty Fifty with my M50 for some photography and film projects and it's honestly really impressive. The 1.8 aperture gives some nice bokeh, especially when combined with an ND filter for outdoor shots. My only gripe is that sometimes the 50mm can feel a bit too zoomed in, especially with the M50 MK2's APC-S sensor. But for most shots, it can be fixed as easily as just moving a bit further away from your subject.
PS: If you manage to get your hands on it, I'd love to see you do a comparison between the RF 50MM and the regular one.

I use a canon t7/1500D with kit lenses. This camera has really good specs for a beginner camera. But it doesn't have a flip screen. I heard that if I use external lenses like prime lenses or other lenses I would get more good quality than kit lenses. Fulaan, you think I should get other lenses?
Yes most other lenses will be better than the kit lens. Especially prime lenses. Whether you need to get new lenses or not would depend on how satisfied you are with the kit lens.
