- Felwinter's Helm is A Warlock exotic that gets little love. The time has come.
Did you forget? Onslaught is the perfect big brain place for it. This build uses the full power of Felwinter safely and legit destroys.

Thank you for watching!
Vampired caress with navigator on strand warlock is nice for woven mail, sever and restoration.
Damn, I was just settling into Stasis Warlock and now you got me doing a whole new build! Actually this season has been more fun for me than as far back as I can remember. New builds, new experiences, who says Destiny is dying. NOT true - loving it! Thanks CG!
Felwinter underrated but Orpheus tether and gallys everything will be dead before you see a finisher lol.
LOL, this is a BS guide. You play with a dedicated team of good players, anything would work here as long there is DPS and comms. If you really wanna showcase the strenght of a bulid, play solo with LFG randoms like the majority of the playerbase.
You can do more if you build into the grenade. Use weakening grenade and when you kill a weakened enemy you can drop a orb of power, build up enough stack of charges and you can use it to refund your grenade again. My favorite choice of grenade, void wall. This keeps enemies at bay and does alot of damage to anything that walks through. If they live, they will be weakened.
Finally my Bloodborne cosplay is also functional
*Cleric Beast wailing*
It was always functional. People sleep on the crazy debuff it gives with little work involved, all because people would rather go for “more explosions” with things like Sunbracers.
@@heyblaisewhy debuff when the entire room dies to 2 grenades? Onslaught is the first time there’s enough enemies for it to actually matter
Father Gascoigne around the corner chopping corpses
Update: Also what would you suggest for that look, because I love the Hunter cover art look.
@@regaliaex1338 Because the debuff coverage is so wide, and it’s very easy to tag bigger targets with it (even accidentally). You still have your Grenade too.
Felwinter’s Helm is also subclass-agnostic, so it’s really good for a Loadout slot just to switch to for any random subclass use.
After running dozens of different builds in Onslaught and with Prismatic being only a couple months away, Bungie really needs to add like ten more loadout slots.
Just use dim then rotate them out in game when needed
I’m still on 6. Not playing that campaign again, ever.
I just using one
@Batman-qd1sr I need to learn to.use DIM...
AGREED ....i use DIM for my extras for now
Repulsor Brace Frenzy Recluse goes real hard with this for anyone who's trying to get one. Repulsor brace procs off all the Felwinter's weakened enemies so you have an overshield at all times.
Try repulsor brace using the new Falling Guillotine. 🎉
I got the shiny last night! *happy noises*
HMMMM I don't have that roll but I have repulsor/surrounded that might cook here. Also thinking maybe my repulsor/onslaught ros arago.
This has been my favorite build for over a year! Warlock's best kept secret in my opinion. If you don't want to use an exotic primary, I find a repulsor brace weapon fits this build really well.
Especially a weapon that you can easily leave enemies weak with like Recluse. I normally use Rat King but sometimes it just kills too fast.
I got the destabilising/repulsor sudden death. boom
I have a lead from gold / repulsor brace hollow denial that has served me well
I've been using a Strand version of this and pretty much always have woven mail and void over shields. It's gonna get even better with Prismatic..
@@user-pu2ro4ov7jhaving it use special is no good though, best in onslaught would probably be recluse with surrounded + repulsor brace
It should be mentioned CoolGuy and I have NEVER seen anyone talk about this, but if you use the Chair Finisher, you can proc the Warlords Debuff with the enemy you launch. It will travel and debuff anything it flys past. It is also the same with the Titan Chest exotic. I find it funny no one has talked about this yet and I hope you see this and try it yourself
There are also some finishers that count as elemental ability final blows, which can proc devour. This season’s “Cencered” one does this, I think
Oooh... you mad lads.
Oh, hell yes.
Yeah thays why when I use this build I only keep the chair finisher on best thing ever..
That works with Severance Enclosure? Guess I'm checking after work to see if I have that finisher.
Just so you know ignitions with their scorch initially caused by a melee count as powered melee kills. Meaning ignitions can trigger Felwinters. Also with heat rises you get that melee back immediately. And all subsequent ignitions are buffed by Felwinters. Pair this with infinite Restoration x2 and you have a build that allows you to nuke waves, be a mock hunter, while also running well of radiance. It's a build that I've ran for a while and love.
what’s the fragments and recommended loop and weapons?
@@Dragga600The fragment that causes ignitions to spread scorch to other enemies so that when you ignite a target their scratch spreads then you can melee again and keep spreading weakened
Rat king low key goes hard as it alows you to close the gap with your finisher targets
I like using strand with felwinters lie. 3 powered melees on demand, grapple melee, and finishers all proc the weakening explosion. Plus you add the strand debuffs like unraveling rounds from the melee or sever from the grapple. Big damage and big crowd control.
Running Rufus fury with pugulist, buried bloodline for devour, and a gL for heavy
Grapple does not sever
FINALLY! The exotic that never gets enough appreciation.
Expecting Felwinters to go hard on prismatic as well.
Nah, it'll be better on void
@@lukatosic09 idk. Having 3 charges (with strand melee) of lightning surge for bigger damage is already huge for this. Then becoming radiant off those melee kills (dawn) while being able to make a jolting, scorching, slowing, severing or volatile explosion when doing a finisher (defiance) seems pretty cracked by itself and you can still slot at least 2-3 more fragments.
Just wait until someone get synthoceps/wormgods with felwinters on an exotic class item
@@gengarclefairy3475 liars handshakes perk could also be a lot of fun in that pairing. Oooo or for just all the chaos severance enclosure.
Unfortunately, you cannot equip an exotic class item with another exotic in your armor set. I hope they can change this in the future.
I've been preaching Felwinter's gospel for months. My build is Strand-lock and Monte Carlo, with grapple you get four powered melees, and that's before Monte kicks in. Between that amazing debuff, Woven Mail, healing rift and that armor mod that gives damage reduction during finishers, I cannot die. It's a blast.
I'll give your build a shot, looks good. Thanks for the content, CG, best D2 scientist on the Tube.
Ooh what are your fragments and aspects??
Does monte Carlo’s bayonet proc debuff?
@@spaceboysilver unfortunately, no
New pacific epitaph from GoTD is another great GL to pair with this since the origin trait reloads the weapon and gives a bonus emergency shot on finishers
felwinter's has been my favorite warlcok exotic since it released, coming back to the game for into the light and using it again has been so much fun
I'm really impressed by how versatile the warlock kits and exotics are in Onslaught. Really fun stuff
Vesper and ib 720 auto with volt shot. Insane
Dude, you are one of the reasons I keep playing this game
I always talked down on Felwinter's Helm-I had no idea you could build into finishers *this* much. I tried this last night and was easily one of the more fun warlock builds I've used yet.
Seeing Coolguy cook up a killer Warlock build brings a tear to my eye!
I havent touched that helm in about 2years..it was my favortie..thanks for the vid bro!
As a diehard Felwinter’s user, I knew onslaught was its time to shine. Genuinely such a slept on exotic.
Definitely need to give this a go. love an alternate devour build.
literally never seen anyone make a build on this exotic. kinda excited to try it out
Been having so much fun with strand felwinters in dungeons lately. Flying around creating tons of orbs and weakening everything. Excited to try this in Onslaught!
There is nothing I love more in Destiny than chained explosions. I'll be giving this a shot tonight.
This looks like a lot of fun, gonna try it. I never even wore felwinter's helm before at all, it's been in my vault forever.
Incredible build, Ty sir!
Hit my first legend 50 wave with this build. Such legit buildcrafting and analysis. Thank you for your work sir. :D
FINALLY someone talks about felwinter’s helm. It’s been my main void build since a few seasons ago, and it hasn’t left my 1st loadout slot since
This is a friend of mines favorite build since before lightfall, good to see it getting some attention.
This is what is nice about Onslaught other than the loot. New builds that may not work in endgame or have slide under the radar are shining. It has some challenging parts but still allow for some creative gameplay. Definitely trying this build out today
Great video my dude! This is an underrated build!
Cool guy I need you to sign all my shiny mountaintips this build cooks.
With the new Prismatic subclass, you get 3 total powered melee charges. Absolutely monster crowd control. Kinetic Tremor the leader and everyone around him falls, leaving him open for a finisher to start the loop.
Coffee and Coolguy go hard in the mornings
Favorite Exotic across all 3 Classes. Solar is a dream - Resto x2, Radiant, Debuffs, Team Support, and Well
severance enclosure strand or void titan does some strong work in onslaught as well. lots of booms. brain happy
I adore this armor and have been using it since release
GREAT IDEA! I am going to try it!
Biggest Felwinters Helm fan here. Definitely looking to compare notes to my void FWH build.
you got me REALLY excited with this build! I’ve now run it through three different runs and I come to a very different conclusion than you do.
I don’t think this claps much at all. The team shot nature of the mode means the closest enemy I can almost never get to to finish before a teammate ends him. So the only way I can make this work is to wander out in the middle and I am able to finish maybe 50% of the time and the rest of the time I die. Of course, I could just stay back in cover, but then I’m just some blueberry with his first exotic plinking away.
I REALLY a wanted to like this because felwinters is my lo key favorite exotic. I just don’t feel it’s nearly as rewarding as many of the other builds.
Heck, even my briarbinds good build keeps me in closer contact than this build but is significantly more controllable and survivable. The coolness factor is off the charts. The realistic utility…
skill issue I see…
I've been wanting a reason to run this helm, I might have to give this a try
About time someone has brought this up
Any weapon with destabilizing rounds + repulsor brace fits this build so well too, if you want to use the exotic slot for heavy or special
Dang you’re helpful. Ty bro. 💠👍🏽
YES! I’ve been using Felwinters Helm with Strand too. Mindspun Invocation means every finish with suspend and weaken everything. Throw conditional finality, a voltshot weapon and something with Repulsor Brace + Destabilising Rounds (Regnant or FG for example) and you just run around doing crazy things with every subclass. You’ll also have Woven Mail from orb pickups. Is it the best? No. Is it fun? Hell yeah
About time someone gave felwinters some shine. I used this day one and it was popping off!
This is my exact nezarec’s sin build… I can’t wait to try this.
:DDDD yess i love this
ive used it in the past, but not in onslaught yet
this makes me wanna try it again
Nooo giving away my secrets!! Lol
Literally made this build 10 months ago on my channel lol. I've been running it since then and it's amazing for all activities (even GMs), not just onslaught. Proabably the most fun build I've ever used.
Pretty cool build tbh!
I have been struggling with legendary. Gonna try this out for sure.
I've been liking Felwinter's Helm on Midtown with Solar, for the Incinerator Snap. That thing does crazy damage, and the ignition counts as melee damage, so if it lands even one kill: Boom, weakening/blinding explosion. It's not only a great damage buff, but it's also great CC to keep you safe while playing close up. Also, Heat Rises getting my melee back immediately is always great with this helm.
Strand Felwinters Helm goes hard.
First exotic I put on for my run. I didn't have a good build for it since I hadn't used it in so long, but I saw the potential.
Also been rocking this. Tis quite good 🤙
Thanks
Gonna try it with heartshadow thanks for build.
Thus would be crazy with collective obligation
Can also use in this with a firefight with osmosis and have overload and buried bloodline as a secondary for AB’s with an edge transit or commemoration
The briarbind's build is nasty for onslaught too
I could see Harvest being exchanged for Instability if you're using void weapons. You still produce breeches and volatile rounds are anti barrier.
HOLY CRAP!! This build is nuutttssss. lolololo. Thanks coolguy everything is stunned and exploding while im invis.
All Warlocks mains are glad You are healthy and posting more wonderful builds😂🙏🏾💪🏾
I love Felwinter's Helm. It's radius is insane and it's so fun to chain finishers!!!
I've been doing something similar on my hunter for a while. Gyrfalcon's Hauberk and Under Your Skin with Enhanced Unrelenting and Enhanced Dragonfly is like having a primary rocket launcher with infinite ammo, that heals you with every kill.
If you want a really fascinating build using Felwinter's, try it on Strand. Weavewalk can let you stroll right on up to an enemy to finish, and finishers cancel it immediately. While it wasn't the craziest build for it, I've even managed to make it work in a GM.
ive been running void fellwinters since day 1 onslaught with wavesplitter. it slaps!
I saw a titan using severance enclosure the other day normal onslaught, he carried with over 1000 kills. Absolute genius.
Absolutely trying this tonight! Thank you CG, as always 🩵🩷🤍
This build is literally me this past season when I combined the Solar Subclass with my love of Void and Felwinter. I even rock this combo in PVP as the Incinerator Snap is so much better for Fewlinter than the Void melee.
This with a repulsor brace secondary or heavy sounds filthy.
As per usual, thsnks for gettin nerdy with it buddy...👊
This works great with Vexcalibur for survival. Block, get over shield, close the gap, finisher, profit.
Yessssssss
was curious if anyone tried to run vex with this build. Might try it myself without telling my friends just to see the reaction lmao
Been usin this helm with strand for ages and it's so damn good
The sanguine chest piece is good for dual and triple warlock teams.
Watching you dismantle that Recluse in the first 30 seconds hurt me, lol. That is the roll that I'm chasing and cannot seem to get at all.
Seems pretty garbo
How are we feeling wave splitter using special ammo finisher? Always have special ammo, constant orb generation to proc the perk for a free reload, you get the extra suppression, and just great overall damage!
imagine a felwinters helm sunbracers exotic class item for prismatic
Omg 🫣🤤🤤🫣🫣🤤🤤
I’ve been using this build for months now and my only gripe about it in onslaught is that on occasion the enemies in proximity of the finisher are launched in the air, at the harder waves it makes it a little harder for my teammates to rack up kills because they can get so scattered
My void version of Vesper-o-Radius. Nice tips about V-breech w/ Devour makes Recuperation redundant.
I've been running voidwalker Warlock with a Demo+Golden Tricorn Optative. Generates any extra grenade energy you might need and has almost 100% GTx2 uptime.
I enjoy strand build with Fel Winters. I wish it worked with glaives
I have a very similar setup using severance. It's super fun. I'll try this out. :)
It works wonder with Strand. I’ve made a build some time ago that allows you to get in, debufff everyone AND deal area damage.
You can get reduced damaged just after picking an orb.
I don’t play in English so I’ll try my best…
Grappling melee / Normal melee
Try to get 70 in strength to have a lot of melee
Use the apsect that summon stuff when you grab and melee
Orb gives you woven mail and make it so you can get grenade energy with damage.
Melee final blows need to create orbs
Then you are free to use any weapons and you can choose whatver you think is better suited to you with the lasts aspects. I use the stun orb a lot ( sometime s it primes during the grab melee animation ) and health on orb pickup.
This is sick
ive tried this with ruinous effigy because you can block, finish, then still have the ball when you come out of the finisher. and running double special isn't too difficult as long as your teammates dont grab the heavy without you knowing.
I just tried this helmet on strand lock and wow it was great on a wave complete 50. I need to test legend
I’m gonna give this a go
This with Buried Bloodline might slap hard
Strand with felwinters is nuts since both the grapple grenade and melee activate it. Walk into the boss room shoot a needle across the room killing the add next to the boss. boom debuffed
Collective Obligation Raid Pulse rifle could be a solid option if you have it.
Got a shiny coup with moving target/explosive and one for all/opening shot!!! Really happy with that roll
You can try using the bulwark finisher. Get an overshield on finishers.
this will be some nice variety from Phoenix protocol, but my friends.. kind of need the well crutch so idk if this will be potent enough to carry
Literally the only thing that I've been thinking about since the preview of prismatic is if every class can finally take advantage of necrotic grips synergies.
I've also been using Felwinters from time to time, though I've actually been using it on a solar Subclass.
Simply because incinerator Snap just is Felwinter's debuffs on easy mode + I feel like the neutral game (at least for the remainder of this season) is still a bit better on solar then on Void.
This way you'll at least also consistently be able to use Felwinters melee aspect.
Try it with a Reupulsor Brace / Desperate measures on Recluse
Did you finally check my warlock out 😉 This has been my go to for ages, and strand revitalized it
My understanding is that the glove mods have a trigger cooldown. I don't think vortex is getting extra mod procs
