In the end, everyone was rooting for its destruction of course, but still. There's also that one guy from Medicine Man and that other guy from The Abyss. And, oh yeah, HE FOUND RICHIE.

The best part about The Rock is Space Ice doesn’t need to exaggerate or add hyperbole to the plot, it’s just that much of an action packed thrill ride that it stands on its own.

One of our absolute favorites. My dad absolutely loved it, we watched it easily a dozen times. The fan theory that Connery is playing a retired bond is also great.

It was the "implied reality" of this film to the limit of avoiding being sued for copyright by the Broccoli people.

Michael Biehn was also great in this movie. I miss him, his performance in Tombstone was another 90s iconic role
That guy was up to be a megastar before he got really into coke and drinking. Tombstone, Terminator, Aliens, this guy could do it all. But he has a reputation for being an angry drunk and then he had a stroke. So now he does these cameo appearances but he's not the same guy.
@@snowbear163 Honestly, it's heartbreaking to read. He really played some of the most iconic supporting roles in the 80s. He was good, convincing and had the looks also. He was ought to be a superstar.
@@Wikingking very true, but he had a bad attitude problem and to this day you can still hear it in how he describes things. I think he's a good person and he loves his fans, but deep down he's got issues. He might be better now since he stopped drinking and drugs, but he slurs his words because of the stroke so he won't be doing any leading roles. Just small throwbacks like his Mandalorian part that lasted about 6 minutes.
I liked Nic and Michael's first movie together Deadfall. It's one of Cage's best performances.

Watched it again a few months ago. It has aged like fine wine, and is one of the best action movies ever. Dead serious.
One of the first soundtracks I bought as a teenager and to this day I still listen to it while driving.
Connery never uses any guns to kill anyone. It's all knife and hand to hand snapping necks.

This version of the movie just sent it up towards a whole new level of awesomeness.
I have watched SO many of these that when he said, "Nicholas Cage's small independent film", it had me rolling. I guess Uwe Boll, Steven Seagal and Neal Breen are the only ones that consistantly make, "Mega blockbuster, hit movies".

There are definitely “Christmas movie” elements in Die Hard Bro.
It's nice to see Space Ice step back from reviewing multi-award-winning Steven Seagal films that everyone and their moms have seen multiple times and instead shine some light on flicks like these that may have flown under most people's radar.
Honestly one of the best action movies of the 90s, no joke. Double feature with True Lies for a great Saturday night.
IMHO Missed opportunities in the video that popped into my head as it was playing:
Failure to mention the SEAL team they sent was so bad they died in the showers.
Not calling Tony Todd Candyman or (more likely considering the lesser works/deeper cuts attributed to actors in the video) work in that he played Ben in Night of the Living Dead (1990), especially considering the allusions to a zombie outbreak made in the video.
Otherwise, stellar video, loved it.

Does anybody else hope that there’s a part 2 to this. But this time with Sean Connery getting all the praise. As awesome as Nicholas Cages in everything, he’s still standing next to the original James Bond.
That would be fun, just seeing all this from another perspective. Up to Space Ice of course, but if he did it, I'd certainly watch it.
Usually Bay is an absolutely trash director, but Ed Harris added credibility to the movie, especially the scene where he demanded the SEALs to surrender and they refused. He showed that his character was in some ways sympathetic.
"We're up here, and you're down there! Give the order!"
Then Michael Behn says "I cannot give that order!"
"What the hell is wrong with you!"

My favorite movie of all time. I've watched it over 50 times. One time when I was 11 I watched it 3 times in a day.
The tempo and action was incredible. The action never lets up. Edge of your seat the whole time, great actors, awesome bad guys, awesome good guys, just awesome.

Great movie! Great villain who is sympathetic, amazing leading men (Connery and Cage), and perfect supporting cast (Biehn was perfect). This was a perfect action film.

When Nicholas Cage said he was ragin for a Cagein and caged all over the place... That was definitely one of the best scenes in movie history.
when your supporting cast is John Morse, Claire Forlani, Vanessa Marcil, John McGinly, Michael Biehn and William Forsythe to back up Cage, Connery and Harris directed by Michael Bay...you have arguably the best action film of the 90s....it's got all the explosions, overblown action, bad CGI and action film cliches you could ever want and it's pure fucking cheese and i love it!
You are the vessel by which I withstand the pure awesomeness of Cage movies, watching them directly would certainly kill me.

My favourite action movie of all time! Nic Cage and Connery...what a duo. And Hans Zimmer on the OST. Not to mention Ed Harris as the villain. This film was peak 90s action for me. There might be better ones for some but the 90s was so jam packed with so many good ones that there is something for everybody.

Nerve chemicals that instantly rot everyones face off except the hero's...
Sees Pulp Fiction's adrenaline nonsense, and raises with a self-insert
Connery once again not playing a Scottish character despite his accent and everybody just going with it
Era-appropriate banter, and one liners at the contractual rate (one per minor character death)
Car chase through the hilly part of San Francisco because ramps making cars flip and fly is so 70s.

At least, these are the US standards for wearing berets. Other countries do it differently, but the insignia always goes over one eye, and the draped material always goes over the opposite ear. You'd get chewed out fer wearing it wrong because it looks sloppy and unprofessional. This isn't Tony Todd's fault, of course. They're 'sposed ta have consultants for these sorts of details.
