Because Brian isn't after the money, he's upset about the damage to his ego. He wants formal recognition that he's not actually as stupid as the book portrays him.
Let’s remember the time Brian made a best selling book by catering to the lowest common denominator that became a success with Stewie’s encouragement who also became his agent, and Brian thanks him by being a ungrateful egotistical jerkass and then when he also bouched an interview he blames Stewie for the whole thing and never apologizes. So yeah I think Brian fully deserved this after all of that crap he did to Stewie in that episode.
It's the American legal system, we've had dumber things happen. The man who sued God. The man who sued him self. Granted, things like this are supposed to be thrown out.
All Stewie needs to do is deny that the dog in his book was based on Brian
Or offer Brian a cut of the next advance.
At that point, the court is then finding out if he’s lying and it really was based on him and he’s lying to get out of paying him anything.
Brian just angry that Stewie's books are better than anything he's ever written.
His ego is bigger than how long this show ran on.
Instead of suing Stewie for defamation. Why didn't Brian just sue for financial rights to the book since it's about him?

In American dad Steve did the same thing he wrote a book about Roger that portrayed him as a dumb drunk
That was funny and endearing whereas in Family Guy it just comes across as sad and desperate.
@@SamanthaJonesSATC Mostly desperate.
@@ansumanahargett6227 Mostly desperate. Family Guy, yes.
Nah, Roger deserves what he gets, because Roger is disgusting🤮🤮🤮
Reasons like this are why American dad is winning
Brian getting freaked out by the spider in the pet store is so relatable
And the fact that he was trying to be smooth when it happened made it better lol
This is basically the Ted 2 plot but with family guy characters.

Spider Scared Brian In Family Guy
I love Doug 😂😂
🕷️ “Get away from muh terrarium, boah!”
Oh, things aren’t looking good for both, Brian and Stewie.
How can a dog sue a baby
💀💀💀
That's true. He'd have to sue the parents.
This is family guy, nothing has to make sense.
It's the American legal system, we've had dumber things happen.

Family Guy In The Loud House Era
family guy episodes are Basically The Simpsons or American Dad copies....
Hilarious
Wow Family Guy is ripping off American Dad now.
All Stewie needs to do is deny that the dog in his book was based on Brian
Yup.
Well even if he did it would be pretty pointless to deny it since Flunky obviously looks a lot like Brian.
Brian has to prove financial loss as a result of the book’s publication.
