I’m so happy you got a long handle shovel!!!! Another helpful hint, pick up a long handle flat head shovel. It will help greatly on jobs like this. More contact with the concrete. Brilliant work today!
Martin, I’m so glad you got a long handle shovel. That will make all that digging a little easier. That soil did have a price, lots of back breaking work. 😊. I’m trying to catch up on your videos. We didn’t have internet for about five weeks because of hurricane Helene. And no power for fifteen days. It’s great to have it back. Don’t work too hard. 😊

My, what a nice big shovel you have now! 😉 This property is going to be amazing when you’re done. Those brambles look ominous. If it were me, I’d rent a one of those machines that eats through them. Doing it by hand is wild!
Wow that was a massive workout, digging that thick layer of soil of the driveway, but it’s looking great 👍 I wonder what you’ll find under all those brambles, another path?
You amaze me Martin! This was so intensely difficult. I knew the driveway went all the way to the road. I’m glad you uncovered it. Also you made me laugh with that bit with the gloves. 😂 it happens to all of us!
Sure the job would be easier with a tractor equipped with a loader, but how many gardeners/landscapers own one of those? They aren't exactly easy to store lol! This is the way most of us would have to do this job. Heavy mucky soil, lots of trips, and a hot soak in the tub at the end of the day. Great work with the tools you got! Looks so much better.
As you said that is good soil in that weed on the driveway, it’ll compost down beautifully too. Wonderful to have a wee visitors too; there’s so often a Robin about on the scrounge for a free snack. Great job on the driveway!
What a beautiful property Martin. The driveway is looking amazing. That was such hard graft. Hope your back is ok. I'm looking forward to your next video. Take good care. Thank you 👍
Nice. Next week looks brutal. A long-handled shovel (you're using a spiffy long handled spade) would make your work even more efficient! Looking forward to the next episode with bated breath!
It was inherited, to be honest. And the place needs a small fortune spending on it, so no rich people are involved in this. So I offered my help 👍 I get something for it, though. So it's not totally for free as I'll get paid for views. But it's an awesome opportunity to work on something this old. I could wait a lifetime without seeing something with this much history. 👍☺️
Not sure what it was about todays video--I sure had a good time getting on with it. at 80 I have learned that it is OK just to do a "spot" and move on as long as I make progress; I do make sure it doesn't get out of hand - at my age I tend to get overwhelmed.. I am still learning to make adjustments to make it work for me.--thanks for the positive intput and attitude.

WOWZA!!! Martin, that was a back-breaking job clearing the driveway! But of course, you’re well aware of that! I hope you were able to get some rest when you went home. Also, I wanted to tell you how many times I laughed out loud at your sense of humor!! Thank you so much for sharing this video and I am definitely ready for the next one. Take care and God bless you and your sweet family!! Sincerely, Diane from Missouri 😊😊
It’s your never ending story. How many years do you suppose it’s been since that gate was closed? Another terrific, back breaking episode. 👍
I bet at least 30 years 😅 although I'm going to shut it on the final episode.
Although that is in the distant future at this rate that I'm going 😂
It'll be quite sad 😥 I've literally poured sweat and tears into this place, and even a few drops of blood 😂
Looks like a real driveway now. That water laden soil was a heavy job.
I'm glad you spotted how wet it was, it's was freakishly heavy. It was like I would imagine working in a clay mine 😂😅
That poor little wheelbarrow 😂
Loving the long handled shovel by the way!
Me too! 😅
Martin you are a super star
Hi Martin, there is a thing (forgotten its name) that you can put on the spade handle, so you’re not bending over so much. Also have you thought about a bigger wheelbarrow?
Excellent work you are doing, looking forward to the next stage of the clean up. 👏😀🇦🇺
I’m so happy you got a long handle shovel!!!! Another helpful hint, pick up a long handle flat head shovel. It will help greatly on jobs like this. More contact with the concrete. Brilliant work today!
You work so hard. I love your commentary during the video because we get to see your amazing personality ❤.
Fabulous job. You are a patient man. Here’s from California
You have done so much but have so much more. Even my 3 boys said they wish they were there to help you.
Oh wow, well I'm glad you're safe 😅 I suppose, being without power is far better than other things that could have happened.
I'm glad you've been able to binge watch everything you missed 😅👍
All the best
Martin
I am tired just watching you. Massive job and it looks much, much better.
Thank you 😊 🙏 Very much appreciated.
Enjoying this transformation
Well done 👏
I am exhausted watching you Martin, that was a lot of hard work, looks great though. What a place to live it’s beautiful ❤❤. Pauline. Wiltshire
Martin, The driveway looks so good. The property is looking great. I can not wait to see what's in store next week. God bless you Martin, God bless your Family.
Thank you 😊 and the same for you and yours 🙏
Well done. You make it look so…whew! Beautiful and loved.
My, what a nice big shovel you have now! 😉
This property is going to be amazing when you’re done. Those brambles look ominous. If it were me, I’d rent a one of those machines that eats through them. Doing it by hand is wild!
That looked like bloomin hard graft! Well done xxx
Wow that was a massive workout, digging that thick layer of soil of the driveway, but it’s looking great 👍 I wonder what you’ll find under all those brambles, another path?
At this moment, nothing would surprise me about this place 😂
You amaze me Martin! This was so intensely difficult. I knew the driveway went all the way to the road. I’m glad you uncovered it. Also you made me laugh with that bit with the gloves. 😂 it happens to all of us!
That was a huge effort! I can't wait to see how it looks once the mud washes off.
Really great job!!!! I agree that a flat edge shovel would it a lot easier!!👏👏👏👏👏
Amazing job, so much hard work, Martin. You must be exhausted, I am just looking at you. 👍👍😊
Haha, yeah, this one made me sweat a bit 😅 its almost winter as well.
WOW, That was a lot of work, especially with it being wet!! Looks great, good job 😁
Nice job 👏👏👏👏👏👏!!!
That was hard work, but you did an amazing job 🙌🙌🙌 Looking forward to the decimation of those bramble’s !!! Ouch 😵💫😬😖
That was one hard job. All that digging and carting. It’s beginning to take shape now though.
Thank you 👍
Thank you 😊 🙏
Brilliant job, well done. You never fail to clean things up very well ❤
Nice. Next week looks brutal. A long-handled shovel (you're using a spiffy long handled spade) would make your work even more efficient! Looking forward to the next episode with bated breath!
Martin, you are a working machine!!❤
It looks like fun. I'm helping you by cheering you on. 😎 CoolBeans 🇨🇦
It truly helps 👍🙏 so please continue, I'll need the encouragement for the next stages 😅
Great work, Martin. But why can’t they afford to pay you? It looks a massive job and whoever bought it can’t be short of a bob or two.
@ You have a heart of gold, Martin. You will be blessed. 👍🍻
Phew amazing transformation,great work
Thank you 😊 🙏
Much appreciated.
Hooray for Martin.
Great job Martin, you must be "cream crackered" after revealing the drive way. Another great video.Thank you for sharing👏👏👏👏👏👍
You burnt some calories on this one. That looked like real hard graft. Keep up the great work mate.
